    I hired this contractor for roofing and exterior work. They requested money before the job was finished. While the roof was completed, other important parts of the contract including the siding inspection and clean-up remain unfinished.Despite this, they sent me a lawyers letter and are pressuring me to pay the full amount. I signed the agreement at my home, and the contract didnt contain all the legally required details under Alberta's Consumer Protection Act. I was never informed of my cancellation rights.The contractor has been difficult to communicate with, and the delays and pressure have caused me a great deal of stress. I am asking for BBB's help to either have the remaining work completed properly or to receive a fair refund.Although I received this invoice for $*********, much of the listed work is not completed. For example, the light fixture was never changed, and I dont know if other items like siding accessories or vapor barrier installation were fully done as described. There was also no siding inspection, and I was not informed of the completion schedule. I feel Im being asked to pay for work that may not have been properly completed or verified.

    Hello ******, 

    As i have explained you before. The agreement on all our contracts request for progressive payment as stated on the agreement. That being said. Upon phase one completed and inspected the invoice is sent to the customer and payments are due within ** days this has been explained multiple times and you refused to proceed with payment, We have kept on going performing the siding and then you have started escalating the situation because your past due invoice for the roof was now occurring interest. Upon siding completion. You have then now send me a formal notice denying us entry to your property. Unfortunately, despite all attempts to resolve this matter you persisted not wanting to provide payment. As a business owner i have to protect our interest and make sure we are paid for the work completed to your property, I have then consulted our lawyer to find the best way to resolve this. Unfortunately, the only way to protect my business from this has been to have our lawyer send you a demand letter of all outstanding amount now past due. 

    You then have provided a partial payment for what you believe to be the right amount, But unfortunately, whether it please you are not you have breached the terms and conditions of our agreement by not paying the invoices on time. As of today you still have an outstanding balance for the work performed and we are still awaiting payment.

    The terms and conditions are clearly stated in the agreement. Please review the attached documents once again. I want to make it clear that we never requested any payment before each phase are completed, As per the siding inspection, it has not been completed because you denied us entry to your property, I have asked a few time via email on when we could access to complete it, despite all attempts we have not yet received any answer on that note.

    I disagree with the business’s response. I
    paid for the roof after it was completed and inspected. The siding work was
    never inspected, and I was not given proper written notice of inspection. I was
    then pressured with legal threats while the job was still incomplete.

    I hired this company only after Allstate’s preferred contractors failed to
    proceed. Their representative assured me that payment would only be due after
    full completion and inspection, which has not happened.

    I continue to dispute the amount being demanded and maintain that their conduct
    has been unprofessional and unfair.
