  I had the salesman (****) come look at job and seemed like was going to be good. **** advised dust would be mostly contained to the room they were working in. This was absolutely not the case. The day was 30 C outside, all windows and doors were closed, except the storm door workers ************** were coming in and out.I was staining the outside furniture and took a break to come inside and see how things were and I walked into a cloud of Cement dust on my main floor, my poor dog was lying on the sofa in this dust. The workers had respirators, not so my dog. **** and ***** knew there was a lot of dust. Nobody came to let me know. Imagine it was like walking into fog when I opened the back door.As I opened doors and windows in a panic now you could see the cloud going out the open doors. I was mortified, imagine the concern I felt that the 14yr old dog was subjected to this.I sent a text msg straight away to **** and he said the boss would call.The crew was to be at the house at 9 am or so, I rec'd a text from **** that they were behind and to expect at 11 am, they did arrive at noon. This is not a concern as I had taken the time off work to be around for the 2-day episode.My concern is the lack of ownership for the results that occurred, I feel the furnace and ducts need to be cleaned and I would expect they pay for the 6 hrs I had a cleaner come in. I am not requesting my time be reimbursed, and when the boss, not sure his name called this morning he said he will not pay for the ducts and furnace clean, and he never said he would help out with cleaning costs either. His view was he could not afford to pay for all the customers to have their furnace and ducts done, and that the contract states not responsible for dust. Even though I was assured the dust would be contained to the room they were working in.This job was a catastrophic failure.I would not recommend.

  Hello ******, we never promised all dust could be fully contained to one room as that is never something with major construction we can guarantee. In fact dust incidental due to installation is specifically listed as not covered by our warranty in the contract that you signed off and agreed to. It should be noted that when you rudely hang up on people and won't take their phone call it is very difficult to find a resolution. You were however offered 5% off of your contract as the owners did want to compensate you for your troubles. So that's not a very accurate account of events or the response from management.
