      **** of Iron Hide Woodworks does excellent quality work. He made a custom queen *** for me according to a hand drawn design which is excellent and exactly as desired.HOWEVER. A year or two after the ***, I contacted **** to see if he would be available for a small custom project as a Christmas present for my partner, to be made using wood recycled from an old bookcase that had been signed by his parents and siblings (both parents now having passed away). I dropped the wood off in April. We emailed back and forth a bit deciding what exactly to make out of the wood, I sent some ideas and **** sent some sketches and by the end of June we had agreed on a display case. I sent a sketch I had drawn up myself to confirm what I wanted, clearly showing a flat-bottomed case with the signatures on the bottom, and an angled glass-inlaid top at somewhere between ***** degrees. I also confirmed these numbers in the email.**** touched base briefly in September, then was silent again until 2 weeks before Christmas when he said he was just waiting for the glass. The week before Christmas he emailed me a photo saying it was ready to pick up, but the photo showed a flat-topped case, not as discussed.I replied: "Thanks for the photos, I see you went for a flat top rather than the angle I'd requested, was there a particular reason for that? It does looks good from the photos nonetheless.What days/hours will you be around for me to pick it up between now and Christmas?"The response I got was: "Since thats an issue, you can pickup your wood instead. It will be wrapped up and left at the back door."When I went by, confused, nobody was there and the (signed, irreplacable) wood was leaned up against a dumpster out back. **** has never replied or explained. I was left the week before Christmas with nothing for a gift and no explanation.Clearly **** is having some personal issues at the moment but I cannot recommend him with this level of unprofessionalism and unreliability.
