On April 24, Monday morning my work truck broke down in Burnaby. I called Dieseltech to request a mobile mechanic to come out and look at my truck to see if he could get my truck started. I was told on the phone that it would be a 65$ call out fee and 25$ fuel charge as well as 165$ per hour of service. After over 2 hours of waiting the mechanic finally showed up. He spent less than 15 minutes looking at my truck and told me it my starter that was the issue and that he couldn’t fix it on the spot. I then had to call a tow truck to tow me to my mechanic in Delta. The next day I received an email invoice from Dieseltech for 510.38$. I should have only been charged the 90$ call out fee and one hour of service for 165$ totalling 255$ plus tax. Obviously I was shocked to see a bill for 510$ for 15 minutes of service. I was charged 170.50$ for the mechanic’s travel time as well as 30.20$ for shop supplies even though no supplies were used and I was never told of these charges. I never would have agreed to these charges if I was told on the phone about them instead I would have just called a tow truck. I’ve called Dieseltech twice to speak to a manager and get this bill adjusted but both times I was told I would get a call back and nothing so far. I’m willing to pay the 90$ call out fee and one hour charge of 165$ but nothing more than that.
