  We initiated contact and dealt with NFB exclusively to completely renovate our Home and add an addition. NFB was the face of the work being done and was responsible for the quality of that work (we were not told otherwise). We did not hire any subs (except for a flooring co). NFB’s work was substandard, and they were rarely available (or willing) to discuss many of the issues. NFB claims a) the plumber was not paid. We did not get an invoice. The plumber did not complete the work. The est cost to remediate the issues were enormous b) we did not pay the electrician. Wrong. NFB told him to go ahead and install a 400AMP service (which became useless to us) despite the electrician telling NFB that a part for the service was on backorder since 2021 (before NFB started work!). The electrician understood that the service issue was not our fault. All of the other subs were paid, on time. NFB was not paid the last installment because of their shoddy work/did not finish the work. NFB says a sub “came in & took out all of his equipment”. Wrong - again. The heat pump sub improperly installed the system. The sub agreed to give us back our money and he was given back the equipment he installed (except for the lines – they held no pressure & were compromised). We made no changes that led to delays in getting the work completed – changes originated with NFB’s bad work. We showed NFB the walls/ceilings that were “off” – the kitchen wall and bulkhead, the bathroom walls/knee wall, and the ceilings – all of which were newly constructed. It is not the fault of an old home - NFB cannot construct a straight wall. The FB pictures confirm NFBs damage and shoddy work. It is telling that NFB did not respond to specific complaints made by Sandra B (which we also agree). NFB has chosen to “pass the buck” and spout their newly concocted claim that we are “sore” because we will not be on TV (LOL). Rather than address the issues head on, they have chosen to lash out at us. Big Red Flag!

  We had Newfound Builders/***** ********* renovate/rebuild our property starting in May 2022.
  It was a disaster: improper installation of weeping tile, hiring subcontractors who did not know what they were doing (installing a mini split system, a Schluter bathroom system, and putting together a three piece bath/shower unit), failing to put protection on our flooring and staircase (causing damage from rocks, tile, lumber and heavy equipment on the flooring), forgetting to install an air exchange system, not knowing about minimal distance allowances between the appliances and the island, forgetting to leave an outlet for the rangehood fan and installing the backsplash tiles on the slew, taking a sentimental item for safekeeping and returning it ruined, installing defective patio doors causing our heating bill to skyrocket during construction, not knowing how to install a door beneath our staircase, not following the construction plans for something as simple as a ceiling fan (when the plans were taped to the front window of our home!), changing an essential kitchen element without discussing the matter with us, walls/corners that were not squared, having to be told to remove clapboard that was split and that had wide gaps between clapboard ... and so so so much more!

  I am deeply saddened to read this review considering that you did not hire Newfound Builders/***** *********. Your ****** reached out to us to do some work for her, and we decided that it would make a lovely episode for our TV show. She then hired the production company, who in turn, hired all subcontractors needed to give her and her husband what they wanted. This also gave your ****** access to a free designer and project manager who walked her and her husband through every step of the process. Before any work was done, sign offs were completed with the designer and/or project manager to make sure it was what your ****** wanted and agreed to. We didn’t hire anyone to come on this site, nor were we in charge on anything happening there. The production company looked after payments to subcontractors, budgets and arranged for your ****** to pay subcontractors directly. The project manager that your ****** dealt with worked for the production company and was not on our payroll. Your ******** group made to bash Newfound Builders is a d******* * ** * ************** * ***** ***** *** ***** **** ****** ***** **** ** ** ** ********* *ou are trying to hurt ***** and Newfound Builders reputation with your false accusations – that’s great – but you are also damaging the lives of all our employees that rely on a pay cheque each week to support their families here in Brigus. What you have failed to let the public know in your “**** *** posts in your ******** group, is that you have yet to pay the plumber for the work completed, you have yet to pay the electrician for their work completed, you have yet to pay the excavation for work completed, plus multiple other companies. One company had so much trouble with you, he came back to the site and removed everything that was installed then refunded all your money. The job was delayed multiple times because of all the change orders. Despite what you claim, everything was discussed with your ****** (the one who signed the contract with the Production company), and we have documentation to prove so. I’m not sure of your construction experience but having worked on multiple older homes, we can attest that there are no walls/corners that are square. Also, your build was supposed to part of the TV show and due to all your changes and delays the job wasn’t completed in time for the deadline to have a featured reveal in of June 2023. I guess this is where the bitterness begins because in June you reached out to us to see if you were going to be featured on the TV show and shortly after you were told no, the ******** group was made with all *** **** *** *** ****** ** *** ****** ** ******** I guess the reason you are only complaining about the horrible job *****/Newfound did and not what happened with the Production Company is because your ****** signed a contract *** ******** ********* ** ******* ** **** ****. B** * ***** ******* ** *** ********** *** **** **** *** *** *** ******* *** ***** **** ****** *** **** ******** *** **** *** **** If you would like, we would be more than happy to share all correspondence so that you can r****** **** ****** ** *** ****** ****** *** how they played out. We have our own pictures, sign offs and documentation to back up that Newfound did everything we were hired to do (also without payment).
