n FebOruary 14, 2022, our ** insurance company issued a confirmation that our claim has been declined due to faulty workmanship from the shingles that were installed by Four Seasons Roofing (attachment 1). In October 2018, we had a quote from Four Seasons Roofing to replace our shingles (2&3) and the job was completed in July 2019 (4) with valid warranty for five years (5). In October 2021, called the company for the water coming from the wall inside the garage and the siding. As well we had a bad odor from a bedroom with carpet floor. On January 7, 2022, we removed the carpet to replace it with hardwood floor, we noticed the discoloration of the shoe Mould in the corner of the room. I called them again and they denied their responsibility, so I called our ** insurance, they sent their inspector then we received the denial so we hired Central Roofing Company to investigate and do the whole repair which was extensive damage inside the walls affecting the whole house from the top to the ground (6, 7, 8 & 9). We paid to Central Roofing a cost of 28,400.00 plus Tax (10) not including the hardwood nor the painting. My lawyer sent a demand letter to Four Seasons Roofing. After a lot of negotiations, Four Season Roofing insurer has been retained ********* ********* **** ******** ******** ********* to investigate the matter. As it is approved that the damage is due to faulty workmanship, they involve the subcontractor insurance as the shingle replacement was done by subcontractor. Subcontractor insurance offer only 15,821.73. I did not hire the subcontractor and the Four Seasons Roofing insurer is not involved in any way, even though I dealt with Four Seasons exclusively. They are now blaming their subcontractor and they won’t negotiate with me. I am unable to reach a conclusion with them.
Pictures show how extensive the damage was.
The Four Seasons Roofing hired under their responsibility the subcontractor so they are sharing in the faulty workmanship happened. Thanks!

I am responding to a complaint against our company.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 31/01/2023

I am rejecting this response because:

I read the reply from Four Seaons Roofing, Judy mentioned that it is a premature complaint but I have been in negotiations with them through my lawer for a year. The repairing company, Central Roofing, stated that the damage could be also from a short period of time. I am not satisfied and waiting their insurance to share with the subcontractor insurance.

    Thanks,

    Business Response

    Date: 08/02/2023

I am responding to a recent complaint. As I stated in my last email this is now in the hands of our insurance company and the insurance company of Secure Roofing. I am not sure where the homeowner got the information regarding the limit set by Secure Roofing's insurance company. I can say that both our insurance as well as Secure Roofings insurance has stated the damage did not occur over a short period of time rather over years of leaking not from the roof. We have responded by contacting the insurance and now it is in their hands which any responsible company would do, as that is why we all carry liability insurance. I am not sure what the homeowner wants us to do at this point.
