      On Dec 07, 2023, I was contacted by National Recovery Corporation agent from the City of Cambridge, ON by the name of Paul. The accusation that in year 2018, I was allegedly operating a vehicle in Italy and while in the Municipality of Florence I breach the traffic law. Apparently, the Municipality of Florence have mailed a letter to me at my old Cambridge, ON address to pay 650 Euro. I’m not aware of such a violation. I’m also shock to know that a foreign country can hire a collection agency in Canada to enforce their laws on a Canadian citizen while residing in Canada.

      I’m requesting from BBB to contact National Recovery Corp. and inquire if this is a scam. Also, under what Canadian law or international law they were hired by the Municipality of Florence and have the authority to act as a law enforcement agency in Canada to collect allegedly outstanding traffic violation. To stop such ******* action and also notify their alleged client that such ******* action breach the international law and the Canadian Charter.

      Lastly and if appropriate to notify the Embassy of Italy in Canada about such alleged violation of one of its municipality. Breaching international protocols and intimidation of Canadian citizens.

      There is no law stating that registered Canadian collection agencies are not able to collect international debt - we have been brought on to collect the outstanding tickets due to the various municipalities in Italy.  As a Canadian agency, we are within our rights to contact Canadian debtors.  We are licensed in every province to collect debt owed by Canadian companies and Canadian consumers.  International creditors are within their rights to hire a Canadian agency to collect their debts due.  Debt collection regulations would only prevent an international agency from contacting Canadian consumers if the international agency is not licensed within Canada to collect.  National Recovery Corp is a Canadian agency and fully licensed to collect from Canadian Consumers.
