I received a quote for cleaning services for my rental property in *******************. I agreed to the quote and sent the deposit. They arrived to do the work and then said that the job would take more than 2 hours to complete and that I had to send more money for the additional 2 hours. When I went to my rental property to see what was done, it was a mess. I tried to get in touch with them multiple times to come back and finish the job I had paid them for - in total 4 hours of cleaning for $450.87. No answer and no response to my emails. I also can no longer log in to their app where they sent the quote and the receipt. I am now out the $450.87 and had to do all of the cleaning on my own.Customer Answer

This merchant is trying to be deceptive by adding additional charges. They have attempted this before with other customers and still continuing this deceptive practice.
Clearly stated in the floor plan for this unit provided by my landlord himself, the tiled square footage (kitchen) is ONLY 200 sq ft. It is ridiculous as it is to charge a customer 1k for a floor cleaning service + bathroom cleaning service but to further continue deceptive practices by adding additional charges is beyond me. Nevertheless, I still pay the balance that was calculated. They never provided the final invoice with the total square footage or the total $ amount during the phone conversation and prior to charging my credit card and debit card. In addition, I personally measured the tile square footage as 200 sq ft. As stated in their invoice, I was charged for cleaning 299-square-foot of tiles, which I do not have in my apartment.
This is a dispute for the overcharging 99 sq ft * $4 per sq ft plus tax. I then requested a refund of the difference between the total that was charged and the correct total that I should've been charged; the requested refund total is 448.84 CAD.

I was over-charged by Happy Cleaning company. I was given a quote of $299.00.
I gave a deposit with **** $209.30.
However, after the event, the company charged by **** an additional $690.18. This charge was not authorized AND I was overcharged for the amount of work the company provided.
Date of service: November 5, 2022
Quote #1821
Total amount charged to my **** was $899.48
I contacted Happy Cleaning about my dispute. Their reply was that I was charged for 2 hours labour for 2 cleaners (their minimum fee).
Prior to work being done, I was never told the company had a minimum amount.
My dispute is that the two cleaners worked a total of 40 minutes (not 2 hours as they claim). I company was supposed to arrive at 1:00 am. I called them at 1:15 to see where they were. Several family members and the bartender had already started the cleanup.
The venue's bar tender said he closed/locked up the venue by 2:00 am. Therefore, the cleaners could not have worked 2 hours/til 3:15am.
On top of that, the only supplies brought in by the cleaner's was 1 garbage bag.
The venue's bartender and and several family members (who assisted with event cleanup), have agreed to write a statement confirming my dispute about the length of time the cleaners worked.
When I contacted the company, they state 2 cleaners worked 2 hours (which is incorrect).
I don't mind paying the company, but only the amount of time worked.
$899 for 45 minutes work is ridiculous.Initial Complaint

July 26 2022 - called them to asked for a quote of a nail salon and was given $200 quote on a floor care for a business. With the fine print stating $3/sqft specify technician will measure the area of the floor care and the $200 quote will reflect that. Paid for $99 deposit to have it booked for 7:30pm. Technician arrived at 8pm and never measure the square footage of the business to inform the actual price will be. Consumer have the rights to know how the space is measure and then the final bill hence why we ask for quotes so they’ll be no surprise. This is a dishonest from the company. Proceed and the invoice was charged $5085 based on 1500 sqft. From $200 initially to the final bill is $5085. The building is leased for 1600sqft, now with furnitures, pedicure chairs, nail station and all the appliances in the space. There’s no way they can floor care for 1500sqft. This is just stripping and wax of the floor.Business Response

Please read the following answers:
called them to asked for a quote of a nail salon and was given $200 quote on a floor care for a business.
- You were not given a $200 quote. You were given a $199 base rate, and in the quote it very clearly states "$3/sqft" and "*Our technicians will measure the areas that you would like floor care on and this quote will reflect that sqft*".Therefore, the quote that you signed, agreed, and consented to is based on the sqft of the flooring of the nail salon.
With the fine print stating $3/sqft specify technician will measure the area of the floor care and the $200 quote will reflect that.
- The fine print did not state "$3/sqft" and "*Our technicians will measure the areas that you would like floor care on and this quote will reflect that sqft*". This was very clearly, boldly, and in big letters written in the description of your quote. We always provide description to the quote because our customers like to be informed regarding the description of the service they will receive, additional pricing, more information etc.
Paid for $99 deposit to have it booked for 7:30pm. Technician arrived at 8pm
- You not only booked our service the same day you received them, but you requested that our technicians arrive during late after hours, because your salon closed at 7 pm. The timing did not matter to you, you just wanted it to be after 7 pm and to receive the service the same day you booked it for. Please keep in mind, we are fully booked until the end of next month, however we took into consideration your urgency in getting this service done as soon as possible, and instead of appreciating the hard work our technicians did until nearly 2 am, this is how you treat us, in a unfair way.
and never measure the square footage of the business to inform the actual price will be.
- As you say in your complaint, you knew the square footage of your salon, and you also knew that we charge $3/sqft, so you could have done the math and calculated how much it would cost, instead of putting the blame on us. Additionally, the technician told you the sqft of the salon and you agreed to it and signed for it.
Consumer have the rights to know how the space is measure and then the final bill hence why we ask for quotes so they’ll be no surprise. This is a dishonest from the company
- There shouldn't have been a surprise, because you very clearly know the square footage of your salon, why is that a surprise? As stated in the quote you agreed to both verbally and through your signature, you agreed to the fact that we charge $3/sqft and that our technicians will measure the flooring and the quote will reflect that sqft. And our technician also informed you of the sqft of the salon as well, and you were aware of the sqft yourself as well (1600 sqft).
This is just stripping and wax of the floor.
- If you see the attachment, the square footage is not 1500 sqft, it is 1561.70 sqft (with the furniture that you are mentioning). Our technicians rounded it to 1500 sqft so that you do not get additionally charged for the express service fee and moving of the furniture around. Today, we followed your request, the accurate sqft is 1413.87 sqft + express service fee + moving furniture around. And since you want to follow your request that you made, you have an owing balance of $383.76.
Please let us know which option you would like to have, calculating it to 1500 sqft or calculating it to 1413.87 sqft.
Please note we have all the signatures that was made by you and your sister's (Michelle) husband on file and additional proof that you were informed of everything.
