      I booked a car with them back in April. My flight was delayed and it said on their communications that they wait for you for 2 hours after the booking time (7:30PM) but their hours were listed as they close at 8PM the day I was arriving. My flight landed at 7:55pm and I had to wait for my luggage so I was not going to make it there before 8pm.
      I called them numerous times before boarding my plane to find out if they would be there or not as I was traveling with a young toddler. They also offer a shuttle service from the airport but if you cannot get a hold of them by phone, how was I going to even request a shuttle. Nobody answered the phone at all that day. I called the next day, no answer. I called Priceline, as I booked through their service; they tired calling Routes and also didn't get an answer.
      I emailed the Routes customer service email and they requested my call logs to prove I called them so I sent that to them. They emailed back and said "our agents were at the location" and then proceeded to charge me a "no-show" fee. I have contacted both Routes and Priceline since the charge which was charged (yesterday) over a month after the incident, and neither are helpful or refunding the charge.

      This was the worst car rental experience I have ever had. I give it one star only because I can't give zero stars. My cousin and I are very experienced travelers and have rented cars all over the world. I booked a package on Priceline to *******, ** that included hotel and a car for a very good rate. When we arrived at the rental location, we were told that we could not use our own EZPass for tolls, and were required to pay 12.99/day to use their "sticker." We were not going to drive on toll roads every day and I knew that my own EZPass would work because I have done this on 5 previous trips. Also, they said that we needed to use their insurance for ***** per day and could not use our own private car insurance or credit card provided insurance. (Later, when looking at the policy document, we saw that these things would have been ok, and they were lying to make more money.) We knew that all these things were a total lie! We asked for a refund, told it would be processed, and then we went back to the airport to rent a car for $350 from another provider. I called Priceline and they told me there was no record of a refund request and that they would request one for the car portion of our package. 10 days later, I contacted Priceline again, and they had not been able to reach anyone at Routes regarding my refund. While I was on the hold, they called Routes and actually reached someone. They were able to process my refund. I spoke to a supervisor at Priceline and strongly urged them to discontinue using Routes in their travel packages. Since this was a budget trip, having to spend an extra $350 on a rental car was a big hit to our spending plan for our vacation. ****** learned - if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. DO NOT RENT FROM ROUTES!!!!!!!

      ************ ********* Very amateurish with an airport transport vehicle looking like a white panel kidnap van. Waited for an hour once the van arrived. Appalling service, appalling office (smells like poop), with marginally clean car. *** **** ** *** ******

      I will NEVER rent from them again. In *******, they did not have the vehicle even though I had previously made a reservation. I needed a larger car/SUV and they did not have ANY at all. I had to wait two full hours and missed my dinner with my children and grandchildren, stuck at ROUTES. DO NOT RENT FROM ROUTES. The most disgusting and tacky Car Rental company in the world.

      NEVER AGAIN WILL A CAR BE RENTED FROM ROUTES! That is a very short version of what transpired when I rented for the first and last time from Routes Car Rental in ******, **. I tried many times to report to the **************** with no avail. One and only working phone number, the mailbox was full...I can only imagine why....laughing.******************* *******

      This place is horrible. Bad customer service and the terms on the website are not accurate. The deposit was extremely high and the rates were way higher than they said when I booked about $375 more. They still have yet to return my deposit please dont rent a car here. Its not at the airport either you have to take a shuttle there and coming from another state and taking a shuttle there was a setup its like they want you away from the other places because they know no one will want to rent a car from them under there horrible conditions

      Usually very quick and efficient, and usually the customer service agents are friendly. But today all the young ladies working here had very bad attitudes and it made everyone’s experience… including other customers… very poor.
      One man came in and asked a question and the agent didn’t even acknowledge it…. After 3 mins of awkward stares at the agent on her phone someone said, “this gentleman has a question.” And the agent snapped, “I’m working on it!”
      Ok, but she didn’t acknowledge that she heard the question, so it looked like she was ignoring everyone and playing in her phone. Very poor customer service by people who clearly hate ***** jobs. It’s 10:30 am on 4/21/24 for reference of who the agents are.

      They charged way to much for tolls was told had to pay it. that can't pay cash at toll booth which is lie. Also they said that there were toll.in ******* which is another lie. I counted the toll 4 to daytona and 4 back. They suckered me in to it. Moved location before I return it. No head up. Took be over an hour to finally return. Service sucked.

      Rented a car from ********* through routes. Paid $169.68. Got to the Routes office at approximately 10:30 at night with my granddaughter that is in a wheelchair. They charged me extra for another driver which I understand. They also charged $159 for out-of-state use which is unusual. I declined the other insurance. Their total charges were 430 some dollars above what I had paid *********. They also added an additional refundable $500 hold. That’s almost $1000 over what I had paid. We returned the car the next day with 52 miles on it. I have no problem paying ********* for the full time I had booked the car. Called the company. They will not refund any of the other money and will not have an explanation as to why I was charged another 430 some dollars. ******** ******* ******* *** ** **** ******

      I booked a pickup truck for one week at Routes of O'Hare airport through ************. I paid the whole rental cost in advance. However, Routes did not give me the truck because they had an agreement with the airport that they cannot lease any car to Illinois resident. When I reach out the customer service of ******** ****, they points out a small line through the rental agreement, which says Illinois residents cannot use the service. How could I read through all pages of the rental agreement? ** ** * ******* *****  They could prevent this by additional drive license screening. However, they just set up a trap.
