      Terrible renting experience. You have a choice between Routes and any other good quality operation like *****, **********, ******, ******, etc. - go with any of the others. Waited for 45 mins to be challenged on every norm including ****** **** (***) covered rental insurance to validity of a UAE driver's license. Just completed a ***** rental and what a massive difference in service?

      Absolutely horrible. I was rear ended in one of their rentals, upon returning the vehicle I provided them with all of the insurance information. The party that hit me is accepting full fault, I had already started a claim. There is dash camera footage that I was not at fault. 3 days after returning the vehicle they charged me $5000 on my card. I have spent hours on the phone with people and have gotten no help. ***** **** *** **** ******** **** *** *********

      I reserved on Priceline- they gave my car away with a bs excuse. This was after hours of flying, waiting an extended period of time for the shuttle bus to arrive, waited on hold for at least 15 minutes- no one ever answered. There was no notification of the cancellation of my reservation!

      I've been trying to reach out the office for days to clarify with this matter and got no luck, after how many attempts of phone call I got on hold for a hours and get no one to pick up the phone. After almost a month of renting we got invoice. How sure am I it's from the original service when we had it after how many days plus the fact when we hand it over to the person upon returning, I clearly ask for any extra charges and he went to check the mileage for me and noted for "no charge at all and I am good to go" the transparency of the transaction is so unprofessional and unethical. SO many hidden charges given the fact IT's NOT UNLIMITED MILEAGE if your Alberta and ECTRA CHARGE FOR GOING OUT OF THE PROVINCE which was not on fineprint. ***** ******* ** ******* ****** ** *******

      **** **** **** **** ******* ** *** ***. They have cheaper rates for a reason! First off they require a $500 security deposit which no other rental car company hardly does. Second they do not inform you of crossing state line hidden fees which are absolutely ridiculous. I booked a rental through Routes in Chicago, IL and was visiting family in Indiana. The employee failed to mention or ask me if I was leaving the state. The next day when I arrive in Indiana I receive a hefty charge to my credit card for $187 for a state line crossing fee. In order to avoid this charge the company stated that you need written permission prior to leaving the state. How am I getting charged for something I am completely unaware of. **** * **** ** a company who has terrible customer service and tries to charge you for anything they can. Good luck if you need to get in touch with the billing team as they only work through emails and there isn’t a way to communicate to someone on the phone. I was in contact with someone from customer support while waiting 30+ mins to get through to them the employee stated there is nobody from the billing department that I can talk over the phone with and assured me that they will email me within the day.       Quite frustrating! I had everything reserved, planned and timed, they denied car pickup on pickup day cause I didn't have a flight #, nor did I find it in terms and conditions.

      **** ***** ** * ***** I don't own a car and since I don't have car insurance, I wasn't able to rent a car. I paid for insurance through the booking site and offered to buy their insurance and was still told no since I don't have my own insurance.

      Do not rent from this company! I was told if I didn't buy the toll pass that I would be charged $50 for going through tolls without their Sun pass. They told me I would not be able to pay cash for tolls which was not true! So $122 was added to my bill and I went though a toll twice that was $1.75 and I could have paid cash!! I tried contacting them and the person I spoke with was nasty. I tried again for a refund when I returned the car and they said they would check into it. They are lying and deceiving people to make extra money. I looked it up, even if you do go through a toll you will get a bill to pay or possibly a $25 charge.

      1) 2 hour wait to rent car 2) Did not inform us you needed insurance- line was huge because everyone was calling their insurance companies and credit card companies trying to buy insurance 3) Reserved car for $360 fee. Had to pay $30 a day extra for their insurance. Stated we needed to pay $10 more a day for an additional driver- we opted to have one driver. We asked if there was ANY other fees and they stated no.4) Chose a drop off time of 11 pm- there location closed at 10:30 pm thank god we checked or we would have been charged an extra day and had been screwed since we had a flight that night.5) Told everything was fine when we dropped the car off then received a $760 charge for out of province usage. Went from a $360 rental to $760 and they do not warn you about these charges- the price looks to good to be true when you reserve BECAUSE IT IS.6) Called their customer service and was basically told it's my own fault because I should have paid $10 extra a day for out of province fee. They NEVER mentioned this and I asked if there was any more fees- they stated no. I would not have left the province OR would have been that fee at the counter if I had known prior.7) We went out of province for a day and they charged us a $30 per day that we rented the car penalty fee... we didn't leave the province every day- that's a huge **** and borderline **********. 8) When I addressed this with employees they told me that's my fault and I need to speak to "Stress Free Rentals" where we booked the car because they don't charge us. Even though the invoice and credit card statement clearly states "ROUTES *******". AWFFFFFFFFUL *** ******* ********* ********. Do yourself a favor and go with *** **** ********* companies that show the actual price upfront. * ***** **** ***** **** ** *** ***** *** ***** ** * ******* ********* ****** **** ********* ***** ********* **** **
