Representatives are presenting themselves as part of ** * * ********  stating they are going to get my gas cost down because I am being over charged. They said they would put in a request to make sure my gas is at a standard rate of $1.39/day. They never told me that I was signing a contract with Statewise Energy or that I was going to be in a 5 year contract. When asking questions to the representative who they were, it was very vague. Plus what infuriated me more is that they were able to do this change without my permission. They tricked my daughter to sign. She was the one who they spoke to not me. I called them right away to cancel before anything starts because the cancellation fees. State wise provided me with a cancellation number but no follow up email confirming it was cancelled. If anything never show a bill or have anyone else in your family show your bill they can make changes with the account number shown. Very ********* tactics especially to a minor.

A young woman representing StateWise Energy California came to our door and explained that she was simply collecting information about what our community members are paying for gas so her company could complain to our local utility company ****** about overcharging us. She told us that StateWise sells natural gas to **** and that **** is overcharging. I specifically asked her if she was selling her company's services and she assured me that no, she was just collecting information. When I left the room, she told my husband that he just had to place his initials on her phone so she could verify the report from him and he did that. After she left, he received a contract for switching our gas provider to them. Wow! *** *** **** ********** *** *********** ********** *** ****** ** ******** If you have good services, sell them honestly.

A representative from State Wise Energy came to my home and said that i was getting over charged on my gas bill and stated i would be paying less every month if i signed up with them. I was not told the length of how long and was told that i could cancel if i changed my mind but i would be saving money so i shouldn't want too. My monthly bills haven't dropped at all since i signed up in fact they've tripled in price and I had no idea why until I called my gas provider. I was told this would help lower my bills when it actually tripled my monthly bill and then I find out i am signed on for a 5 year contract which I was not told. And i’m expected to pay a cancelation fee of $427.50 for something that was falsely advertised.

Representatives are presenting themselves as part of *** stating they are going to get my gas cost down because I am being over charged. They said they would put in a request to *** to make sure my gas is at a standard rate of $1.39/day. They never told me that I was signing a contract with Statewise Energy or that I was going to be in a 5 year contract. The contract is predated for cancellation and I am going to be charged $7.50 per month for the remainder of the contract. I never said I wanted a contract at all. These people need to be stopped immediately!

An independent contractor named Austin came to by door tonight claiming to work with ****. He claimed that he was going door to door to ask home owners if they have been over charged on their gas bill due to system error. He said that he needed to see a copy of my bill and he could show me the overcharges. He claimed that I was falsely charged tier 2 prices and that I would be eligible for a refund if I fill out a few quick questions for him. He needed my **** account number, my name, email and phone number. He asked me for confirmation and that I would get a confirmation text on my phone. I need to confirm my information on my phone and all would be fine. He said that my bill would reflect changes on the next billing cycle and that I would get a credit for the over charges. He never told me that I would be using a third party to supply my gas, he never told me that I would be contracted into these services. It wasn't until I received my "contract" via email that I asked what this was. He said "oh, it's very easy to get out of ad it will save you money." He then told me that I needed to call in and confirm that it was me who filled out the documents. It was at this point that I realized he lied about the company that he worked for and that he lied about the services that he provided. I refused to make any calls and I asked him to leave. He then came back to my door and aggressively rang the door bell and banged on my door but I refused to open it. I see that there is a cooling off period so I called the company to cancel but there is no answer. The line dies after choosing the option for English. I will be sending in a signed copy of my cancellation request with a dated envelope. Please do not work with this company. They have ******* several people in my neighborhood.

**Account Reps Misrepresenting Themselves as Part of PG&E***
Contractor, Mercedes B. came to my door trying to sound official asking to see my energy bill. She said they were investigating complaints about PG&E overcharging customers and wanted to verify my gas rates. I declined three times and finally told her I did not feel comfortable giving ANY information to people I did not know and needed to research them first. She said I could take a picture of her information and text her my info. Her ID/credentials looks homemade and did not have any materials to leave with me. From reading similar reviews/experiences I would recommend to stay away from these people.

A contractor from ********* Energy, ****** ******* came to my door saying that they were funded by the state of California to audit the prices that people were paying for natural gas in the state from ***. He said that the state minimum for natural gas was 1.29 per therm and that they were overcharging me, and his job was to report them to the state. He took my information into his system to report them to *** and then they would stop "over-charging me". In actuality, he didn't tell me I was signing up for a 5 year commitment to by natural gas from his company StateWise Energy California at 1.29. He said I had to call this number and repeat this phrase, * ****** **** ******** **** *** * ***** ** **** ****** The person on the phone was very unclear so I couldn't hear what they were asking me. They intentionally muffled their voice so I couldn't hear what they were saying in their questions. It wasn't until after I got off the phone and got an email that I realized that I had signed up to change my provider for natural gas. **** *** * **** ********* ******** ******** *** *********** ******

**** ******* ** **** ********* ***** ************ **** ** ** *** **** ** ** ****** They rang the door at dinnertime, I was distracted and ended up engaging with the sales reps. They said they were selling cheaper gas and convinced me to sign on. They did this by misrepresenting themselves as contractors working for the public utility, saying they were hired to fix customer's incorrect gas rates. What they didn't tell me is this company charges a per daily rate for supplying gas rather than a cost per unit and large cancellation fees if you try to get out of it (at least $7.50 PER MONTH fee for remainder of contract). They also didn't inform me of the three day cooling off period (per the Federal Trade Commission) that they are legally required to do at the point of sale. The cancellation during the three day cooling off paperwork also was pre-dated for five days after the date of the contract, which would be after the cooling off period is applicable for me and seems to be a tactic to try to **** you into a bad deal. Immediately after they left, I realized I made a huge mistake and tried to call the sales rep. The rep had given me a fake fax number instead of a phone number so I could not reach him to cancel the contract immediately. ** *** ***** **** ********

Statewide agent came to my door about my **** gas bill. I stopped him in mid sentence and told him I wasn't interested in switching services. He assured me he wasn't selling anything but was here on behalf of **** to correct an overbilling error. I showed him my most recent bill and he stated he'd correct the error through statewide. 2 days later I get a letter from **** notifying me that I switched to Statewide Energy California, LLC. I contacted Statewide about their deceptive practices and demanded my services be switched back to ****. My service was switched back. However I need to warn everyone ***** ***** **** *** **********. Don't open the door for them and if you do don't let the see your gas bill, they just want it to obtain your account info so they can switch you over to statewise

Last night, a Statewise rep (Hannah G) came to my door stating that she was working for the government. She was at my door to make sure that PGE gas customers were only being charged $1.19/Therm.
She later stated that her company was Statewise.
I gave her all my pertinent information (name, address, phone,) but did a one minute online research on my phone before I signed anything.
It turns out she was not honest about who her company was. They are 3rd party natural gas provider.
