      Reliance installed a hot water heater in our house. The installation required alteration of the gas and venting to accommodate the new unit. Reliance refuses to request the required permits for the alterations to my house. I am now stuck without a permit for critical components in my house. I am still hopeful to get a resolution but this entire experience has been horrible.

      Our Hot Water Tank was taken over by Reliance from *****. They unilaterally increased the monthly rental, contrary to original contract. Then when I complained after a few days it was resolved. The Billing for rental that used to come by e-billing via ****** **** stopped, but I continued payments. I bought Furnace Maintenance Plan for which I have been receiving billing and paying and am current right now.
      When I called Reliance the CSR told me that there were 2 different accounts .. she could not understand why. But it was going to be straightened out .. that was over 2 may be 3 weeks ago. The reason because of an email claiming I owe them a large amount. did not make any sense. I told the CSR, I will send an email which I did to customer correspondences on Dec 22 , summarizing all my payments and asking for explanation. So far no response, no call NOTHING. But a threat of unilateral legal action and exorbitant claims. I have called them and waiting on line .. while I am filing this complaint. Thanks.

      December 26, 2022 - I called Reliance about leaking water tank, no hot water, so no heat and water damage happening to my flooring. I shared with the employee on the phone you needed a ladder to get to water tank.
      December 28, 2022 - waited 4 hours for a technician that doesn't go up ladders. No hot water, heat and flooring damage continues.
      December 29, 2022 - 2 Technicians show up to tell me they don't have the proper ladder/lift to do the job and will come back the next day.
      December 30, 2022 - The technicians from the day before call at 8am to say they be at my house by 9am. At 8:17am they call back and say they can't get the ladder/lift and will come back Jan. 3 or maybe Jan. 4. The no hot water, no heat and damage to flooring continues.
      Jan. 2, 2023 - A technician calls to share he can't the lift. He at least apologizes.
      Jan. 3, 2023 - Finally the right technician contacts me. He goes and gets the lift himself in Cambridge and gets the job done. The only person in the 9 days that seemed to care, remained professional, had good work ethic and did an excellent job.
      After 8 days I finally have a new tank, hot water and heat again but also have a 900.00 Reliance bill, damaged flooring and experienced 5 Reliance employees either in person or on the phone with terrible customer service until the right one finally showed up.

      I left my number on Dec 27th for a “call back” which I NEVER received. I made 2 more phone calls where I finally spoke to 2 different agents in overseas call centers where I could not understand much of what they said. I was able to convey to each of them that I have a son in a wheel chair who has a caregiver come every morning at 7am to be showered. Without any hot water, his shower will not be possible. I was told by each of them that the request would be escalated due to medical reasons.

      Worst company ever. Bought this house 12 years ago with water tank rental already having a contract prior to purchase. The old tank started leaking and was corroded. So we went tank less and paid for it ourselves. Called to cancel the rental service since we haven’t had a tank for over 5 years and thought it was silly we were still paying a contract we didn’t agree to. Was told it would be 2000 dollars to cancel and even lied about instalment date. Said 2016. When the house was purchased brand new in 2013 with water tank already installed. They said we had a month to month contract which we weren’t aware of since we never signed a contract. Also the old tank has been disposed of years ago when the people came in. Since didn’t still have the tank they said we owe 2000 dollars. Just beware when buying a new house and they are with a rental by reliance. Lesson learned we will never use this company ever again for service. Seems in fair to charge a month to month when we didn’t agree to it in the first please

      I have had nothing but problems with reliance. We had 4 items installed and none worked properly. 3 have now been fixed but we have consistent problems with a brand new furnace not working. Parts keep on getting replaced but the furnace continues to break. In the dead of winter service calls can take days and the call centre just gives you a different story each time.

      Reliance home comfort is a terrible company to deal with, extremely unprofessional going back and forth with lawyers and billing departments. We sold our house and trying to give the assumption documents to the buyers. Reliance gave everyone the runarounds and did not care whatsoever. They continued to bill me for another 2 months while I’m living in my new house. Finally we figured out a solution and was told reliance would compensate me for the months I paid. Reliance is now telling me that they don’t do refunds and not compensate me for anything for the 2 months* ****** **** **** **** **** ******* ********

      one of the worst service . ****** ** *** **** **** *** ********. the technicians come to your home and they tell you that they have come without tools and he tells **** ** me that someone will come tomorrow and when i call them back as they did not turn up the customer service agent named Shannon tells me that she cannot do anything. *** ** ******* ** **** ** *** ******* ***** ******* * ****** ** *** **** *** ********* **** **** ******* * *** * ****

      If Reliance considers a service call 60 hours into the future as being classed as emergency repair then I would suggest that Reliance has failed to hire enough technicians to cover the volume of work that they encounter. No excuse for not getting emergency service the same day the event occurs.

      On my 5th repair in 8 weeks. No HW so they replace tank. Broke vacuum holder and stained carpet removing old tank. 1 week later, no HW. Tech comes & starts tank. 2 weeks later no HW. Tech comes, thinks it’s venting but just restarts tank. 2 weeks later no HW. We ask for a Snr. Tech, they send a guy with 6 months experience to work alone. He adjusts venting, but needs my help, drops PVC pipe on my head & brakes my glasses. 2 weeks later, no HW. Can’t get a Tech until after Xmas. I have been without HW 10 days in last 8 weeks. Enough is enough. I’m fed up with Reliance Home Comfort.
