    Several years ago we had a number of roll shutters installed in our home by Rollex Rolling Systems. The installer was Drago Vr.
    Drago had undertaken repairs in the past. Usually we waited until he was in the area, since we are about 80 km from his office (at that time 461 N. Service Road, Oakville, L6M 2V5).
    On February 20, 2019, Drago repaired the manual winding mechanism on one of our shutters with a refurbished electric unit at a cost of $250.00. Since this was a bit of an emergency, he came fairly quickly. However, during the installation Drago informed us that two of the slats had broken and he had to replace them. He assured us that he would do so.
    Over the following several months we could not contact anyone in the company to find out when Drago would finish the work. Subsequently, when COVID struck, we did not pursue the matter so intensely. However the shutter in question was still only partially serviceable, since it did not reach the window sill on the “down” phase.
    When most restrictions were lifted and things returned to normal, I tried to contact the company to resolve the problem and to have the slats replaced as promised. I have made at least a dozen calls to the company since then—frankly I lost count—but I was never successful in reaching anyone at the office. Repeatedly I was told by an answering machine that I would be contacted by a return call, but that never happened. When I called the company offices I asked for Drago, and once even for a salesperson, but my calls were never returned.
    We paid for a complete job and Drago was paid in full to finish it to our satisfaction. That means replacing the slats at company cost and installing them accordingly.
