      I was frustrated with the BMO Referral Program. At first, I couldn't register in their Referral Portal because my email address contained a dot. They couldn't understand it over the phone, so I had to go to the branch. There, the manager realized what the problem was and could register me. Later, when I started the referencing process, it turned out that my first name was displayed in the system wrong, and to change it, I had to go to the branch again. Why is it so complicated, and is there no way to make the change by calling or online? It's horrible that in 2025, to send a referral to a friend, you have to go to the branch at least 2 times!

      Credit cards paid off and zero debt , and after 2 years bmo cuts my credit limit from 3000 to 1000$ without notice , have had card for 2 years with no issue and it’s all paid off all bmo told me is sorry we decided it’s in your best interests for you to lower your credit limit ? Never heard of this , they are a bank and hold money for consumers , they are not financial advisors and have no right to do this

      I’m with BMO for over 25 years, personal accounts, credit cards, business accounts. Not a single time ever I was late with the payment on my credit card **** ***** ** ******* ****** **** **** *** * *** ** * ********* ******* ***** paid everything on time. Sold my house, paid off the full balance on my credit cards and the next thing is BMO reduced my credit limit on my credit card from $43,000 to 1,300 without notification or explanation. Newcomers get higher credit limit. Credit score is good, no debts. There’s no reason to do such a drastic reduction in limit. Asked their representative and then supervisor to explain the reason for their decision and the answer was Bank of Canada required them to decrease people’s credit limit and that’s what they did. You can’t even book airline tickets with such a limit. I filed a complaint and planning to go the full way with this but I definitely moving all my accounts to another bank. That’s absolutely unacceptable t* ***** **** ***** ********* *** *** *** ***** * **** ** **** ** ** ****** ** ********* Still can’t believe they did this to me

      ***** **** ** ******* Never did anything to help.went to *** and found out banks can help. Got a mortgage in 1 day with a great interest rate and could get approved after 20 years banking with BMO. ** ******** * ****** *** *** **** ***

      In 2019, I bought a brand new ****** ******* *********, BMO was the bank that loaned the purchase.
      In March 2025, I got into a car accident and my car was declared a total loss, my insurance cut me a cheque for 20k (i had 11,500, left to pay on my loan) so they cashed the cheque and teller told me the funds would be frozen for 10 business days, I was a little annoyed but whatever, procedures are procedures... 10 business days later, still frozen. So I call, they said that the teller gave me the wrong information, that it is in fact 15 business days, so i've been on the phone with MULTIPLE agents, made a complaint (no follow ups), i finally gave in when they told me that the funds would be unfrozen and available to use on April 22nd.. well we are April 22nd and funds are STILL frozen, I called, they said that the process could take some more time, no clear explanation as to why, apparently my case has been excalated higher, with no clear answer. Keep in mind that i've been on foot ever since mid March at this point, lost hours at work, lost work days, **** ********* **** ****** *** **** ** ****** ******** **** * *** ***** *** *** *** *** ******* ********** * *** **************** *********** Their agents are uninformed, their employees are ******** and UNHELPFUL.

      ******** ***** Sent a mortgage renewal application and got an email saying they were working on my file. Got a call 10 days later asking odd questions (like how many vacations days I had per year) . She texted me that she would call me in 48h....it's been 15 days. **** ***** They DO NOT CARE A LICK ABOUT ANY POTENTIAL NEW CUSTOMERS ****** *** **** **** **** *****

      Dealing with the BMO for over 30 years. Business, Personal and Investment accounts. I’ve noticed in the past 3-4 years a REAL lack of customer service. Recently deposited a cashier cheque in the amount of 97,000.00. They put a hold on the funds for 30 business days which due to holiday season ended up to be over 45 days. Not one cent in interest.
      They truly don’t care about their customers, **** ***** *******.

      I attempted to add my BMO credit card to ****** Pay twice this year, but each time, BMO blocked access. They call and msg me. Despite being transferred around, I was left waiting and was told there was nothing they could do. Very disappointing service.

      I won't use them again!!! I am an outstanding customer paying at the very least double my minimum payment, never missed a payment and made all my payments as soon as my statement was released, due to a complete "overhaul" of all people with credit card, with no notice, and NO clear explanation as to why my limit was decreased by thousands without my knowing. I paid for groceries and received an email saying I was nearing my limit which caused me concern thinking someone had hacked into my card. They reduced to within $100 of my "new" credit limit. Had I not bought groceries and received the email when my statement was due to come out a few days later I would have been over my limit and charged an over limit fee. Not to mention what that is going to do to my credit now saying I'm almost at 100% of my credit limit. I will be focusing on paying off my BMO **** and taking my business elsewhere. Good customers are not appreciated at BMO!!!!

      I traded in my vehicle a few months ago, the dealer underpaid. The bank never contacted me and still hasn’t. Now I have 6 months of unpaid payments on my credit card over a measly 62 dollars. I will never do business with BMO again.
