******** ***** ** * ******** I have taken a ******* credit card with them and bought something. I make my usual payments which have interests on them and after 1 year they add another lump sum of 450$ interest saying that the adreement is expired and the payment was not complete. My agreement is same as credit card and not financing. Chatted with their CSR and they said nothing they can do it is their policy. * ****** **** *** ** *** ** ******** **** *****Fairstone

Hello Ridoy. Fairstone does not offer a credit card, the service we offer with Best Buy is retail financing. There are a few different financing plans we offer, and a couple that have interest deferral promotions that you appear to be referring to. You can see the full list of plans here: ******************************************************************* With a deferred interest promotion, the balance of your account must be paid in full by the end of the promotional period in order for the accruing interest not to apply to the account. Missing that deadline by any time or amount will result in the accrued interest being applied in full. These are the terms of the contract the borrower signs and these details as they relate to your specific account were outlined in the application you reviewed and signed, and in the contract provided to you.If there is any adjustment required because the terms were met and there was a system error, that adjustment would be made. An adjustment will not be made if it is simply a case of late or incomplete payments to meet the terms of the promotion. That is not just policy, but a contract both of us - you and Fairstone - are bound to.Review fromAlvin A

I tried to authorize my **** *** card through fairstone (as per their error message before using the card online). I recently moved so the addresses weren't the same as when I registered for the card. The most annoying is Fairstone told me I had to go into **** *** to authorize it, **** *** then had to call them (while I was there) to get it authorized. Ended up not being able to authorize because of the address difference even though all my personal ID information was accurate and multiple statements provided. I have since updated all my personal information but they now have put an investigation on my profile and it is locked. I wento **** *** to attempt to authorize again, **** *** then called Fairstone and they said there's nothing they can do for us. I called Fairstone myself and they told me they could do nothing. It's strange because even after I verified all my personal information with the agent they could still do nothing? So what's being investigated after I've verified my information already? They told me just be patient and it's already been 2 weeks and I have no idea when I'll be able to complete this headache of a process to authorize. Fairstone's customer service is horrible and their process is terrible. At the very least you can provide your customers with a timeline.Fairstone

Your review has been provided to our management team for just that purpose. Unfortunately we do not address account-specific details on public platforms to ensure your information remains private and secure, but we continue to be available to you through our Care team for support and updates.Review fromJanice C

Fairstone sent me UNSOLICITED loan info and associated card. Where did they get my name? STOPFairstone
Date: 05/02/2024
Hello ******. We're more than happy to provide some clarification here. First, the mail you received is not detailing an opened account or card of any sort. The card is a promotional piece and nothing in that package means an account has been created for you. This will never be done without your awareness, consent, and signature. As for how we got your information, we get mailing lists from a variety of list vendors. These vendors provide information found in the public domain, such as public telephone directories, as well as third-party information obtained through sources like online websites, companies that do surveys in shopping malls, contest entries, and retail partners. The list vendors receive the individuals consent to share the names and addresses with third party companies like us.If youd like to be removed from our mailing list, please contact your local branch or call ************.Review fromAlexandre L

Bad experience so far. I send 20% more than the monthly payment every month (I've setup an automatic payment from my bank account) and they keep calling me every month for an unpaid balance of 10-15$. Last time, the girl was very ****. She interupted me during work and wouldn't hang up. Even after I told her I would send an extra 200 even though I pay more that the minimum amount every month, she kept insisting with stuff like "WHEN are you gonna pay" or "HOW MUCH are you gonna pay" ? I was around colleagues so I had to cut the call short and hung up as politely as I could while she was still talking. Since then, I've been receiving 2-3 calls every day from the same number and it hangs up after 10 seconds. *** *** **** ** ***** *** ******* ********** I'll try to avoid any company using their services from now on.Fairstone

Hello *********. We apologize for any confusion and of course the resulting frustration. Without account specifics it's difficult to say what exactly has occurred, but it *** be an ongoing issue with the payment amount you have set up. If the amount is inaccurate (though it sounds like you've verified it is not), or the timing of it is off, you could be incurring additional interest charges that your payment schedule wouldn't account for. In a situation like this, your Lending Specialist would follow up persistently to try and identify what the ongoing issue is and what adjustments are required or available to address it. Providing that assistance shouldn't be as frustrating as it clearly has been and we are very sorry for that. For alternate assistance, you can call our Care team at ************ for support clarifying any issue that *** exist.Review fromChantai W

Getting a loan from Fairstone was the biggest mistake of my life. I told them I did not want the amount they were offering, I wanted less and they acted like I couldnt get the loan unless I got the full amount they offered. Then when I got sick and lost my job, it was a nightmare. I started working again and wanted lower payments because my cheques were lower *** ** *** **** ******* *****. They refused to accept anything less than the $400 I owed and when I told them I couldnt pay that day but could pay a week later, they told me I had to pay over $1,000 then. How can it possibly jump by $600 in one week! I would talk to them on the phone and they would refuse the amount of money I could pay, then still call me all day including making their phone number private and ********* me on my personal phone and at work. If all of that isnt bad, the branch manager started ********* me by visiting my house. Yes, literally showing up at my door when I had Covid and could not see anyone! If she shows up at my door again, I will call the police because that cannot be legal! * ***** *** ****** ****** ** *** * **** ***** *** **** ******* ***** **** ******** *****Fairstone

Hello Chantai. If you are approved for a loan greater than the amount you need, you can always accept a lesser amount. We want to provide the option that works for you and if that options looks like a smaller amount than the maximum you're approved for, we're happy to hear it and facilitate it. We apologize that the experience you had was not as fluid as you expected and as we try to make it.In regards to the payment situation, it is impossible to provide the perfect response without your account information which we do not have (nor would we discuss here). However there are a few factors to consider. The first is the status of the account. If your account is in any state of delinquency, the accommodations that can be offered become more and more limited and payment deferrals or partial payments may no longer be available to you. Based on your comment about a visit from your local branch team, it is possible a delinquency status applies. The Collections processes our branches use are entirely legal. If the account is not delinquent, payment deferrals can potentially be offered for 2 payments in a 12 month period. Alternatively, partial payments may be offered; partial payments are the minimum portion of your payment required to keep your account in good standing.Of course in these alternate payment plans, payment costs are deferred to another point in your schedule, they are not forgiven. That is why a partial payment today can mean a larger sum is required later in your term.Review fromChelsea R

Absolutely terrible to deal with. Tried to pay off my loan before accruing interest and they were impossible to deal with. They call daily about getting additional loans but will not answer their phones when you try to contact them about paying off your existing loans. Would not recommend.Fairstone

Hello *******. There may be some confusion here about the product you have and who the right person to contact is. You mention 'loan,' but you also reference an interest deferral, which is a regular retail financing plan promotion. With our most common interest deferral retail financing plan, your balance must be repaid in full by the end of the promotional period for the interest accrued during the deferral to remain unapplied. If you miss your plan expiration date by even a day, the interest applies. If you repay your balance in full ahead of your plan's expiration date, you can request account closure letter as soon as your balance is zero by calling your retailer's support team. The various team contacts are listed here: **************************************************************. It can take **** business days to reach you.

* **** **** **** ***** ******* I got a loan from Fairstone because I listened to the advice from ****** ***** like a fool. I thought it'd help my credit. Fairstone signed me up and I now know I didn't completely understand what it meant to have insurance for my job or health with this loan. I got the insurance. I recieved a letter saying I can remove it any time. When I seen that instead of my loan amount being the $9000 (there abouts) that it should have been it was actually $1500 which includes the amount that would be covers with the insurance. This is how the interest on this loan is so astronomically high. I'm paying for interest on an amount I'm not borrowing. I called the **** number on the paper, she said she'd send me papers to sign but I could get in touch with the branch. Two weeks passed no papers. I call back, she said she didn't send them and I may as well go to the branch it'd be faster. ******. So now I'm figuring maybe they don't want this removed, maybe it benefits them to NOT remove it. ** * *** ** **** ** get in touch with the branch as it's a joint loan. They tell her it's removed...now I know that's a ***. I called five times over the course of a out a month. Finally when they could hear I've had enough they finally send me papers. I sign them, my wife signs them and still the amount remains the same. I want satisfaction here. * ** ***** **** *** * ** ***** ********* I want this amount removed from the loan and the interest I'm being banged out for taken off. This is not right. Just because I signed papers, didn't mean those people did anything. ** *** ***** ***** ******* **** ***************** *** ******* ** **** ****** ********Fairstone

Hello *****. We're sorry for the confusion and frustration this has caused. But we're happy to report that the clarification is quite simple. When you cancel insurance on an unsecured personal loan, your payment amount and schedule (set with insurance included) will not change. These figures will remain the same even after your insurance is cancelled which is noted in your contract at the top of page two where you signed to opt in to insurance. It states exactly: "If the insurance coverage(s) that you purchased should terminate for any reason, you authorize the insurance company to deliver any applicable premium refund to us to be applied to the balance of your loan. This repayment won't reduce the re-payment amount but may reduce the number of payments required to fully pay off the loan." This is also outlined in the *** on the insurance page of our website: ********************************************************************************* Because your payment details will not change, removing insurance coverage can result in your loan costing less and being paid off in a shorter amount of time as the additional funds that would have gone toward insurance costs can now be applied to your principal on a consistent basis. We never aim to create confusion or misrepresent any aspect of our services which is why multiple resources are created and made available through many channels; we want you to find the information you need to make the best decision for your situation.Review fromLina P

Hello Dilan. The details of your financing plan - including your interest rate and any applicable fees - were outlined when you applied, and are outlined in the contract you receive after approval. None of those figures should be a surprise, and if you deem them unsuitable, you are under no obligation to use our services and we always respect that decision. In any instance where a payment error is made, we will correct it. In situations of over-payment, we are cautious about returning the excess funds until your actual payment is processed because we do not want to return money that then becomes required to pay the balance of the account. Doing so could result in added costs in interest and penalties that we want to avoid. In overpayment situations, we will pause the fund transfer for 20 days, after which it is returned and the account can be closed. If you would prefer not to work with our Care team over the phone, live agents can be reached through web chat at Fairstone.ca during business hours. The services provided there are specific to our retail financing offerings. Connect to web chat here: ***************************************************************Fairstone

It is impossible to get hold of anyone, who would help to resolve a situation with my account. As you stay on hold waiting for someone to pick up, then they transfer you to another department, because they dont know answered to my questions and then you again stay on hold. And another department is trying to transfer you again. I spend two days, trying to solve my situation, which are worth of hiring an advocate and going on trial with this company. But no one would help me. Please if you see this message, contact me immediately!Fairstone
