  A year ago my amount with Manulife was more than $ 59, 000, when I asked them they assured me that it was going to grow but would not shrink. Recently I wanted it to get transferred to a bank and found that only $ 53, 000 had been transferred. On asking they said that it was lost in business, for which they did not have my consent. *** ** ******* ** **** ***** ** ** *********

  Phone lines are so poor, you can not hear them or understand them what they are saying, my ear was hurting as I was pushing the receiver so hard to hear what the customer service was saying.

  We have had the worse time with this Financial company.
  All business's who are connected with Manulife need to find another institution to deal with.
  The company I worked for have our retirement funds with Manulife and Manulife has treated us very poorly. We called in the first part of April to withdraw funds (which by the way is OUR money) and we are now almost into June and were told our Deposit was rejected by our Bank. We planned a trip around these funds and they are not there. We have had to call Manulife numerous times over this one withdrawal and are no where near receiving OUR money. Folks once they have your money they are not going to want to give it you.
  I am going to speak to our company about changing institutions.
  I have accounts with ******* and have never ever had issues like I have with Manulife.
  Companies that have their RRSP's through Manulife need to change, *** * ********* ********

  The least responsive and effective Customer service organization I have encountered in over 40 years . My experience echos other commenters here exactly ********* ** *** ******** ***** ********* ******** * **** **** *********** ***** ******  They won't publish direct lines for specific Claims department, and the abjudicator assigned never returns calls or email inquiries. Enough said.

  Travel insurance through credit card subcontracted through them. First question why am I even dealing with these ******* people? They're the banks subcontractor, I am paying the bank for the service not these ******. This is between the two of them why am I even involved????
  Next you submit a claim to these ******. Wait the requiste 6-8 weeks call them, "Oh you forgot to dot the i", why *** **** didn't someone call and tell me? Okay "i" dotted. Wait the requisite 6-8 weeks, call "Welllll you forgot to cross the 't'" are you ****** kidding me?!
  Again why am I even dealing with these *****? Why do I have to give them a bunch of sensitive information, I have never conducted business with them, these are someones subcontractors!
  It's like if you bought something from the furniture store with delivery, the delivery drivers deliver it to the wrong house and the furniture store says I have to take it up with the delivery company.... ******** ** * ***** ********* ********** *** ****** ** ************ *** ********* ******

  ** * ***** **** **** * ***** * ****** I am currently in the middle of a separation and I need to provide my financials from our date of marriage. It has taken me almost 5 months and countless hours and still have nothing to show! From the get go, ** *** **** * ******** **** **** *** each employee I talk to tells me a different story. They all promise call backs and never returns calls. All I require is the dollar amount that my pension was at back in 2012. The latest person I've spoken to told me my previous employer has terminated the policy and moved on to another provider for pensions ** *** ********** ********** ***** and they can't access the archives. I'm at a complete loss... I've wasted hours dealing with this issue and money with my lawyer as I keep having to put this off and delay drafting up the final separation agreement. I’m so frustrated to say the least and don’t understand why I was never told this back in November when I started this up-hill journey with them. I’ve paid them money, sent in 3 handwritten letters requesting my document and all to be told it’s not available.

  *** * *** *** ***** Once requested my funds, to go to another institution, I waited over 3 months on one investment, and 4 months for the other to be transferred. This, after several excuses. Nothing against the staff, but the biz practises are horrendous.

  Surrendered a life insurance policy that had a payout we had been building for our retirement plans. Made the application on Jan. 5/23 was told that it would be processed in 5-10 business days. End of January called Manulife to see where claim was - was told it was being processed and would be paid out 7-10 days. After 3rd call yesterday that payment was imminent, they said they would put in 'rush' request for payment. Have escalated for a supervisor to call me and they will call me back in 24-48 hours. They've been playing with our money for over 60 days collecting interest and I'm pretty sure I'll never see that in the payout. **** ******** **** ********

  Quick payouts of claims
  Easy online claim submissions
  Cons:
  Denies nearly every claim andust be fraught to be covered, even for repeat claims
  Refuses to pay out on actual paid amount, only pays out on arbitrary amounts they make up as "suggested" costs for the service being claimed.
  ******* * **** ***** ********* ********* Very clear their objective is to increase revenue and not support their clients.
