BBB® New Jersey - Tom Hart Memorial Scholarship

THE 2025 SUBMISSION PERIOD CLOSED ON 1/30/25. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST. Tom Hart Memorial Scholarship awards an annual scholarship to one high school student who personifies high ethics demonstrated through academic history, integrity, personal values, leadership and community service. The application period is from Jan 15 to Feb 15 (the form is only active between those dates). The official submission period for entries begins January 15 and is limited to the first 50 complete applications received. The application period closes on February 15 at 5:00 p.m. Eastern OR when the 50th complete application is received – whichever is first.

Consumer Rights and Merchant Obligations - Credit Card Surcharges

On August 18, 2023, Governor Murphy signed P.L. 2023, c.146 into law, which, among other things, prohibits sellers from imposing a credit card surcharge that is greater than the actual cost to the seller to process the credit card payment. The Division of Consumer Affairs has issued guidance to help consumers and merchants understand their rights and obligations under the new law. The guidance is available here.
