On January 19, 2018, BBB received a report through Scam Tracker regarding www.buyarowanafish.com.  The website only offers two ways to pay for the fish.  Consumers can pay via gift card or wire transfer via Western Union or MoneyGram.   The consumer alleges after paying a representative of the company via MoneyGram, the company representative stated the consumer would be required to pay a refundable insurance fee due to the special handling required during shipping.  The consumer alleged he was then contacted by a representative of Zenith Shipping Line, www.zenithshippingline.com to arrange the shipping and assured the money paid via MoneyGram would be refunded upon delivery.   The consumer alleges the fish were never received and the money was never refunded.

BBB could not find a business license for this company with the State of Alaska Department of Commerce, Community & Economic Development.  The advertised address on their website is not a valid address.  The website was recently updated on January 9, 2018 and its ownership is privacy protected.  BBB has reached out to the company via email and is awaiting a response.
