I am here because bright minds showed me nothing but greed, bad business, and rudeness. On February 15th my son was scheduled to start on march 1st. The business knew I was approved and awaiting assistance on march 1st because I was not working yet (hence finding daycare to start work) anyway, they told me I absolutely had to pay full tuition for march that day or else another child would start and **** would not be able to so paid ********, then they received another payment from the state for 737 for march. They were paid twice. My sons ****** was not changed on the first day for 6 hours and I found trying to comfort himself with a car crying alone in a corner. Then the second day he was bit 3 times and left bruised with a bump on his forehead, so I kept him home end kept asking for un enrollment process. I was ignored and also urged not to go to the hospital or cops, no one but the employees about this. Then when I was FINALLY given a termination of care form they changed the dates on it to make the 10 business day notice period overlapped into April by 5 days.Which they then charged the state 349 more dollars and then me 562 more for full tuition of April. **** attended day care for 1 full day, the other 3 days were 4 hours or less because of how uncomfortable I was with him there and the incidents that occurred. They were paid for 344 hours of care and provided a very unpleasant 20 hours. Also, I had posted on ******** asking for advice and the owner called me using a private number to harass me and I was never able to get ahold of her again. She wrote me a check for $171 back out of thousands. The employees were all snobby, pushy, rude, and over all greedy. None of them wanted to help me or even granted wishes I made. Like communicated through writing only after the harassment I received. I am not up laying certain documents because they have personal info.Business Response

In order to hold a spot in our facility, a client must pay for the month or their spot can not be held, and will be offered to the next waiting student. This parent was adamit they did not want to loose their childs spot while waiting for their State Assistance to go through, so they paid for the month of March to hold their childs spot.
When their child started in March, they had a hard time adjusting to group care and cried for most of their first few hours in care. The parent was called and told they were having a rough day and it might be best to come and pick him up if they were able to, and to try to transition him in to full days. When the parent arrived, our Assistant Director had been holding their child for 30 minutes, and had just put them down 5 minutes prior to their arrival. He had been crying in their arms, and continued to cry once put down. *** was upset that her child was not being help while he was crying when she arrived. On day 2, her child was bitten by another 1-year old student. This is age-appropriate behavior and is impossible to guarantee will never happen. Her child is new to group care and tried to take food off another childs plate while they were seated for lunch. The other child was instantly upset and retaliated by biting her child. She was upset about this incident and voiced her frustrations. We did call our *************** licensing representative and let them know of the incident and that the parent was upset and slandering us on social media so they were aware of the situation. In no way was the parent ever told not to tell anyone that her child had been bitten. In fact the opposite happened, and we self-reported the biting incident.
When enrolling, parents are given literature about biting in childcare and how to help their child through this stage, whether their child be the biter, or the one that *** be bit. This parent kept their child home the next day, Friday, and called us and left a message over the weekend saying their child was sick and would be back the next week when they felt better. They were out that next week, but returned the following Monday and Tuesday. They were happy with care, and had no complaints. She then emailed us saying that they are going to be doing a lot of craft shows out of town and that they were going to have someone with a more flexible schedule who was available nights and weekends watch him. She requested a termination notice on March 22nd. On March 23rd she filled one out. We require a 10-business day notice to terminate services. Our enrollment packed goes over our termination policies, the parent then signs that they understand these policies. She signed all of that when she enrolled her child in February. Our policy is also that refunds are not given, but that credits are given to the account in the event of an overpayment. Since the parent voiced that they were moving to ********* and would never be using care, we went ahead and issued them a check for their overpayment. This check was not enough money for them, they were wanting their entire months tuition refunded back.
The owner was out of state when the parent was calling the Center twice a day demanding a refund. Since the owner was out of state, she called the parent from her personal cell phone, and chose to block the number so the parent did not have access to her personal cell phone number as a privacy measure. The Centers business number is posted on our website, social media, and in all of our documents. The parent had ample opportunities to get ahold of the owner as she is onsite every day. She was gone briefly for a family event and called the parent back an additional time from the Centers phone as soon as she was back in the office. The parent refused to answer the phone.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:EVERYTHING in this entire response is VERY UNTRUE! I am sick of this daycare LYING, MANIPULATING, AND THEIR GREED.
First, I have documents of the states planned payments, a hold for a spot should not be full tuition. They should not have a no refund rule if they are not planning on being good caregivers.
Second, every child has a hard time starting daycare. His diaper was not changed and he was not fed, if there are cameras Id love to see footage of them putting him down alone in a corner with a toy car all the way down the hall and on the other side of the room. The teacher there had a sleeping infant on the other side of a tall gate that separates the room, with all the kids alone on the other side. SIX HOURS without a diaper, food, and maybe even water. Like I said, he got home and that boy ATE and drank like he never did before.
Third, the children should be stopped from biting after the first bite. Our baby had THREE purple and blue bite marks, two on the face, one on the complete other side of his body on his back, and a bump on his forehead that seemed to be touchy. I have been around children and have never seen a 1-year old baby attack another for food. In another daycare we have started they sit their children in baby eating tables. Maybe they should consider that since children are tossed food on a table and expecting the babies to dive in.
And to continue answering that response to biting, the employees called me and tried getting me to describe his marks and locations BEFORE having a report to send to me. I didnt give them description and the report did not make any sense. I have records of conversation where I said I was uncomfortable and afraid to bring him back after those two HORRIBLE days that were his first two days there. I then told them I wanted to un-enroll him after keeping him home for a week. THEN told them again that id like to un-enroll him days later again, this was march 9th and march 15th. Not once did they mention a the termination paper or offered it. This is another on elf their tricks and schemes.
I unenrolled him and asked for a refund since they saw him for not even a tenth of what I paid AND the state paid. They were paid twice. So I posted on ******** for advice or if anyone else had this problem before. I did not post it because he got bit.
In response to another one of their lies, I did not call twice a day asking for a refund. I simply asked for the owner and finally got a call from the owner, which was to harass me about ********, and with a private phone number. After that I had asked for written communication only through email. Which they refused and called me saying pick up a check of 171.,
In addition, the termination forms dates were changed AFTER I signed it. The correct day shouldve been march 9th or 15th when my requests were ignored.
In reality, $2,162.25 was not enough for bright minds. Correction, they gave me a refund of $550, so $1,603.25 cents was not enough money for Bright minds, who did a horrible job for 20 hours spent with our baby.
I went into my ProCare account and got a child care authorization on March 3rd when one of the directors called and voiced the state did make a generous payment on your account for the month of march.
Then my ProCare was suddenly removed immediately after being told they just now received the states payment for march and ***** in another phone call on ***** 13th.
I was also charged for a full month of ***** for some reason. Also the state paid 349 AND 737. The received document on ***** 13th does not match what was on the ProCare website on march 27th which is included.
Other than that this should not be about money, it is about how the owner and employees treat people and children! Out of greed. There are several several parents with the same experiences, and it comes down to taking their money.
Sincerely,
