Late 08/23, I contacted *******************************, Rock Solid Marble & Granite, to pick up, hold and fabricate a piece of granite I purchased for a kitchen remodel. He assured me I could 'see it' whenever I wanted to assure me nothing would happen to it. One month later, ******** insisted on visiting our home to scope the job, and receive deposit, even though the job had not even started yet (should've been my first clue). While visiting our home, I requested a backsplash install as well; so we paid for the marble, provided deposit for fabrication of existing piece and parts required for the job. After providing a check for the amounts, ******** said he has no way to cash, no bank, and the money would need to be sent electronically (should've been my next clue). Weeks pass with no communication, no samples offered, I receive a text from ******** that he is declaring bankruptcy and **** 'refund me when he can'. There has been no effort on his part to refund our money, in fact, he has skipped town. After researching his name locally, I discover he has done this in MULTIPLE cities in the area. Many police departments are looking for him for the exact reasons as stated above. I'm not sure if this will ever be corrected, but be warned, the number of BBB complaints should be enough to have you look elsewhere. My granite is missing and so is the money paid to himCustomer Answer

No, there's been no communication from the Owner, ******** (or *************************** ....There are four (possibly now five) police departments with warrants out for his (and his wife's) arrest for his business practices. He has done this all over the state and is now living in *****, **, where he and his wife will continue to do this until alerts like mine are posted. Of course, he's not going to acknowledge the complaint if he knows it will add to the total on his business page with BBB.Initial Complaint

******************************* of Rock Solid Marble & Granite **********, ** a granite fabricator cashed a check that was given to him on May 26, 2023 for quartz counters purchase. This was 50% of the complete job cost. I specifically said to him don't you "ghost" us now that you got my money to which he said that check was for the purchase of our quartz slabs. When it came time for the install of the kitchen he kept giving excuses (business issues to family issues) and pushing the date back until he stopped responding all together. I reached out to him several times to try and get a date for the install no response. June 27, 2023 we decided to go to the granite company where he and my husband met to see the quartz we "paid" him for and also get a receipt as ******** never gave us anything in writing. ***************** of ********** did not have any record of us purchasing slabs or even choosing slabs that would have been placed on hold for 30 days til ******** was ready. They contacted ******** and to our surprise he answered right away telling them he was going to get in touch with us. Since we were still giving him a chance we placed a hold on the slabs that we wanted. He sent a message that day stating he's been busy and for us NOT to go to Triton as they have NOTHING to do with our install. Giving a "vague" time frame he still never gave us a date for install. Said his wife was supposed to call me. We waited again but I did not text him or call him after June27th. I contacted ****** again and they informed me that the hold we had for the quartz was going to expire and that ******** had not paid them for the slabs either. On July 17, 2023 I informed him that we were not going to move forward with the him and we wanted a refund of the money we paid. He refused saying take him to court. Again we have no contract with him. We have no receipt of purchase. He stole $2500.Initial Complaint

Re: Disgruntled Customer
On or around July 14, 2022, we reached out to ******** for quotes to replace counters with granite. We were looking for something a little less expensive since we were planning to sell the house. But he insisted we should buy the granite. He immediately sent pictures and corresponding to our text messages. In addition, we started to inquire about other small things to do such as replacing light plates, toilet seats, replacing closets doors and replacing a toilet (initially he said he could do then later re-catered). I asked for at least three references and a copy of his business license. He sent those items. However, he said he didn’t have insurance (first red flag). It had either lapsed, or he was in search for a new company.
He asked me what colors that I am looking for and I said something clean and light such as gray or white or a combination of. He texted me a variety of styles and colors. We selected Thunder White. In addition, he said he would do a backsplash for us.
On July 15, at 5:29am, I asked did he have anymore slabs to look at…he responded at 5:30am. I asked was the slab that I selected was the same price or a different price that was quoted to us. He said to go onto ****** ***** ***** of Huntsville to see more selections, but the price quoted would only apply to the selections that he sent us via text. Then he commenced to tell me via text that he had a Galaxy S21 so it was hard for him to see the styles I like; therefore, I would have to tell him.
After we decided on the colors and the price of the granite, he requested 50% as a deposit. So, we sent $10 through PayPal to make sure this was the correct account. Then we sent $3,500 or more to show good faith. With the deposit, he was supposed to buy the materials he needed to complete the job.
On July 20th at 11:43am, I reached out to ******** to check in to see if had gotten all the materials that he needed to. He tells me that his grandfather had passed, and he had to go.Business Response

***************** and *************** changed their minds on the stone on more than one occasion. I bought three slabs which cost 900 a piece fabricated thier job. Was ready to install and I contacted ****************. She told me she was going out of country so any and all instructions would come from her husband. Now the ******** live in ********* and was trying to sale their house here. Well I called my ****** and he gave me lockbox code and asked for a picture of granite. I sent him the picture of granite. His response was that's not what we picked . So I sent him a text message from his wife saying that's what she wanted. *************** told me that wasn't going in his house. That they wanted a darker stone. I did what they asked. So I bought 3 more slabs of darker stone and the slabs was **** a piece. I got the job fabricated and called to tell them we were on our way to install. When *************** was notified he proceeded to tell me they wanted their money back. And the work was done in a time of three weeks and six slabs of granite later. So I was stuck with two jobs of granite that was custom fitted for their cabinets. Well I told them no. Then they called me on speaker phone and said well we will be ok with just their deposit. My contract clearly states Deposits are not refundable. So they proceeded off and on to call my phone over a 8 month period basically harassing me. **************** even went to the extent of telling me she contacted my daughter. Wow.Business Response
