    I paid Mr ******************** ********************** (********************** Painting) $2,000 on Thursday, August 10th as a deposit for painting the exterIor of my house, and the check was cashed same day. The payment was 1/3 of what was requested for the complete project cost of $5,900 per our verbal discussion on that day. He pressure washed my house on Thursday, August 10th 2023, and committed to begin the corking on Tuesday, August 15th to be followed by painting. The weather was beautiful the following week and yet no work was performed. Mr ********************** would not call back to discuss delays. I requested a written contact stating the particulars of the work to be performed regarding painting my house, itemizing the costs and the payment plan and time frame of completion, he told me his daughter would send the contract over that next day. On August 18, 2023 I advised Mr ********************** to not perform any additional work on my home. I did not trust that he would complete the project as discussed and within the time frame discussed. I requested him to refund me $1,600 which is the $2,000 I paid less $400 for the pressure washing. I stated that I expect a refund of $1,600 immediately and no later than Friday, August 25th, 2023 delivered to me personally.I was hoping to resolve this professionally to avoid a legal filing, however, Mr ********************** committed to paying me $800 by Friday , September 8, 2023 and the balance of $800 on September 15,2023. As of today, September 11,2023 I have not received my money back. I believe Mr ********************** moved from Alabama to the Metro ******* area. My next step is to file a law suit to include criminal action for theft by deception. ******************************* *******, **
