High quality construction was hired to start 4/22/24. End date 05/06/24
Contract included, new concrete patio with steps. Awning with wood sides attached.
Kitchen floor repair and redo. (flooring provided) living room subfloor repaired and new flooring replaced. Walls painted.
In mid June the workers walked off the job.
They were mad because I requested the awning be placed and concrete poured.
I requested this Because the workers told me they were learning how to do the subflooring from watching YouTube videos.
My patio door was slammed and tools thrown. And they left. Nothing picked up or cleaned. Pictures of things left in my yard.
Also unsafe temporary wood panels put down. For me to walk on
( most are with no screws, because nothing to screw them too ) The kitchen flooring is uneven. My refrigerator is on a block due to the uneven floor. Also, flooring makes noise when you walk on it, and panels are lifting up. The Concrete patio holds water in 2 areas
*** ******* would not show up on the job site. He only had workers send him pictures. He has been paid in full .!!
      With nothing completely completed.
The last several texts I received from *** ******* was saying he would hire the sub contractors that he sent out to see what needed to be done to correct the flooring.
He text reassuring me he would take care of it and hire them. He now refuses to return my phone call or respond to a text.
What’s done of This job has been done correctly. And my yard is full of things they left . *** ******* has been paid and the job needs to be completed as contract states

      Business Response

      Date: 09/16/2024

Over the course of time that me and my employees was working on *** ******** project. In the beginning there was no complaints other than the painting. I told *** ****** that we would make sure that the painting was corrected which we did. And moved on to another part of the project which was the kitchen floor. We demoed out 50% of the kitchen floor and replaced new floor joist which all had stress blocks in between each joist for extra support. We also informed *** ****** that the other 50% of the kitchen floor where the cabinets are would involve removing the cabinets to install new joist and subfloor and flooring. She verbally denied that and said she did not want to do that which the other 50% was not as damaged as the first 50% so we added supports underneath it and left it alone and laid the flooring. She then was praising how good the guys was doing and everything was coming together and she loved it. Then i guess the guest she was having over complained to her that we did not do it correctly and started making accusations to me that it was done incorrectly and that she was not happy. The 3rd part of this job consisted of pouring a concrete patio coming out of the back of the house and an awning installed. Which would consist of a more flat concrete pad for the awing to properly be installed without having a bunch of lean to it. After i personally poured the concrete which also costed me more than what was quoted originally i tried to express to *** ****** that i was putting all the receipts together and she said and i quote ( I'm not paying you anything else.) So i then stopped going through the receipts. I then informed *** ****** that i would be leaving town on vacation with my family that was planned since last years vacation. But my guys would still be there to work. She said okay that's fine they have been doing a good job. During the time that i was on vacation i got a phone call from my employees saying that they was leaving the job due to *** ****** getting into my supervisors face and cussing him and making threats to him. Because they was in the middle of working on the front room flooring when she decided she wanted them to install the awning. She was mad because he said they needed to finish the front room flooring first. And after the flooring was finished he would do the awning. That's When *** ****** got up out of her chair and stormed across the house and got into my supervisors face saying and i quote (you are not the boss here i am and you'll do what the f*** i tell you to do this is my house.) Even after all of this took place i tried to reason with *** ****** to make sure she was happy with everything i offered to send out a sub to give me a price to finish the project. If she did not want me or my employees on her property. Nothing that we did needed to be redone which that is what the first subs told her. They quoted me over half of what i quoted *** ****** for labor and material cost for the whole job with materials on the job site. With the job being 3/4 of the way completed there was no way i was going to pay that with the job being 3/4 of the way done with materials on the job site. I then told *** ****** that i had another contractor that was going to come out and give me a quote and she said and i quote ( your not going to keep sending other contractors out here either hire the first ones or nothing. She stated that was the only option she was willing to accept. Even though i tried to send workers out to continue the project. Which they did have the proper tools to do the work she just wanted them to clean up which they did. The photos that was summited by *** ****** was old photos that was taking during the construction process. After all of this took place she then hired an attorney with a demand letter. At that time i then involved my attorney to respond to the demand letter. After a couple back and forth letters between attorneys. Her attorney later on fired her and would no longer be representing her in this case because she was and i quote (Wearing him down). Every phone conversation i had with *** ****** was her cussing and screaming at me saying what she had to say and then hanging up the phone. I was also informed by the employees that she was offering them marijuana. Everyday we was present working at her home she would not refrain from smoking marijuana while we was on the job site. *** ****** has made multiple threats to me with her son. I then told *** ****** that i did not have a contract with her son and that i was not working for her son and that i would not have any business with her son. And for these reasons i have decided to let my attorney handle it from this point forward. I fear for the safety and the well being or false allegations that could or would be used against me or any of my employees if we was to return to her home to work and finish the job while her being present. I will not put me or my employees back into a hostile work environment. I informed my attorney that we would be more than willing to complete the job as long as *** ****** agrees to leave the property during work hours.

I am rejecting this response because:

*** ******* is not being honest. All pictures are accurate and their trash still in my yard. We had a verbal agreement when he was in my home for the estimate. I informed him of upcoming knee replacement and that I smoke medical marijuana. He said this is your home.
I was not informed my cabinets had to be taken out to correctly place my flooring. He was paid in full and now owes me money for tearing up my new livingroom flooring due to workers not replacing subfloor first.*** ******* sent untrained workers, and would not show up to supervise them, after many requests.worker slammed door three tools .workers came out with 0 tools to clean the yard.. pics show they did not. ** ******* is being investigated by the Arkansas Contractors Board. For misconduct and abandonment. So therefore I do not expect his response.

      Sincerely,

      ***** ******
