    I ordered a canon sureshot telemax camera for $183.98 from Porter Electronics on 3/31/2025. It is a gift for my girlfriend that must come before our trip on 4/12/2025. Porter Electronics did not reach out to me once after I placed the order. They did not email me for over a week to notify me that the product I ordered was actually not in stock.I emailed them on 04/07/2025 to check on my order because I was concerned. I received an email saying that a man named **** was looking into it now. At noon the next day, I had not yet heard back from ****, so I emailed again to find out what was actually going on. According to ****, they had one camera in stock, but it turned out to be damaged. They are expecting a new camera to arrive tomorrow, on Wednesday, 4/8/2025. I have asked them to cancel the order and refund my money, and I have had to purchase a camera from a different company with expensive expedited shipping. The camera is still listed as in stock today on their website, and it is even on sale. This behavior is fraud in my opinion, and it is indicative that they may not have the inventory that they advertise. It is possible that this company is drop shipping products of questionable quality. Why did they not reach out to me as soon as I made the order if the camera was not in stock? Why did they not reach out to me for a whole week? Why does it still say the camera is in stock on their website? Are they trying to trick more people into buying something they don't have?This is very suspicious. And I would like BBB to help ensure that I receive a refund and that Porter Electronics does not prey upon any other consumers.

    Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're truly sorry to hear that your experience didnt meet your expectations. We always strive to provide excellent service, and in this case, its clear we fell short.
    We understand how frustrating this must have been. When we realized the error, we offered to overnight a replacement to resolve the issue quickly, but we respect your decision not to proceed with that option.
    We also issued a full refund right awaywell before this complaint was postedso we're not quite sure why the refund was requested again. That said, were glad to have resolved that part promptly.
    While were proud to successfully fulfill thousands of orders each week and are grateful for the many positive reviews we receive, we know that every customer experience mattersand we're sorry we didnt get it right for you.

    Porter Electronics purchased a DVD/VCR combo unit from my **** store 6/24/2024 for 79.95/free shipping. After receiving the product, they requested a refund and sent the following:I could not get this unit to play a tape. The picture comes up but is frozen. I tried several Tapes with the same result. I would like to return this unit for a refund. ThanksThis business fixes electronics and sells them for 500% markup. By filing a false claim, that forces me to pay the return shipping (which is economically inefficient), Porter Electronics now gets their FULL refund back from me, AND gets a working $200 DVD/VCR player for their business.
