I dropped my 2008 Jeep wrangler off to this company at the end of 2023 to rebuild my motor. In August of 2024, it started making a ticking noise. since it is under warranty, I called the shop and dropped the vehicle off with them at the end of August 2024. I didnt hear anything from the shop for a few weeks, so I called. No answer. My husband I drove over to the shop around the 1st of November only to be met with an excuse of we had to fire all of our employees and we just have 1 person trying to do all of these vehicles. I informed him that this is my work vehicle and I need it. Over the next several months I would call and if someone did answer the phone I would be told they would call me back. No one ever called me back. I would have to drive all the way to the shop. Everytime I was met with excuses about how we finally hired help but we are still getting caught up. Then the next time it was oh that help didnt work out we still need to hire more help. This went on for months and my jeep sat in the same place on the yard. Finally in January I had to tell them If I don't get my Jeep back I will have to take them to court. Then I got oh yours is scheduled for the end of the week. The end f the week I drove over there and they said its bad lifters and they cant find any. My husband took a look at the jeep, since it was taken apart and he said it didnt look like those lifters were new, he feels they put used parts in it when they fixed it the first time. We go over there once a week and my jeep still sits in parts. i needed to taje the jeep with me on a job I had to leave for in ********* 2025 and was unable to because all I get are excuses. Here it is May 19th, 2025 and my jeep still sits there after 9 months. Now they tell me they cant get parts, just another excuse. I have read the complaints over the last 2 years and they still took on new rebuilds and finished them while my car was sitting on their lot. All the complaints say the state the same excuses!Business Response

Hello
We recieved her jeep. removed the valve covers found that the rocker arms had worn. We also removed the right head and bought a new head for it and replaced the rocker arms. And yes the rocker arms are hard to find new or used. Yes we have had a hard time finding awesome mechanics as all mechainc shops are that is what is causing mechanic shops to close down. we had an awesome crew of mechanics acually the same group of mechanis for around 15 years. we lost both our main people within a week one had a stroke and will never be able to return to working. the other one a week later passed away. and my other 2 mechanics that have been with us for 10 plus years were in their late 60's and decided to retire. Trying to find replacement mechanics was next to impossieble. For a few months we only had one mechanic as we are not going to hire mechanics that are not qualified. Since than with a lot of searching We now have a full crew of qualified mechanics. so yes we are getting caught up. they said we reused their lifters that is not true. their original engine was junk. it had spun rod bearings and it had a bad camshaft and lifters in it. to rebuild this engine they acually had nothing in their engine that could be reused even if a person wanted too. and looking at a lifter after it has been run no matter how long you wouldn't be able to see if it was replaced or not. any ways they have recieved their jeep back a few weeks ago. If they have any problems in the future we will take care of it in a timely matter
thanks

On 09/21/2024 I brought my 2003 ***** Silverado in for an engine rebuild. The shop said they typically run 10 days for a rebuild. They required half the amount up front and the rest the day before pickup for the finished truck. I paid the balance on 09/27/2024 when the shop called to say the truck would be ready 09/28/2024. The total paid is $4636.30. My truck still is not done. I cant get anyone to respond to my calls or messages until I show up in person. They said they have problems with the electrical. But its going on 6 weeks with no end in sight and theyve taken my money. I feel like Im being held hostage by them. I need my truck back. Please help. Its now 10/27/2024.Business Response

hello,
first off we rebuilt his engine as we were paid for. We normally do just engines. when the engine was installed and completed. The engine would not start. We Called the owner and asked if he has a kill switch or something. he than said resently wouldn't start and would blow a fuse. We had already checked that fuse and all the other fuses. So what ever caused that condition before we recieved the truck is most likly the problem. ***** came in once and seen our mechanic working on it chasing wires with a wire scamatic. Wiring problems are sometimes very hard to figure out. We brought in an Electric guy which we paid for and he was unable to locate the problem. WE are still trying to figure out what is going on. We did complete what we were paid to fix. we advertise engine rebuilding not wiring and computer problems. In the past with problems like this we have sent out but ended up getting the vehicle back not fixed. and have ended up fixing it ourselves. We have put a lot of time and labor and money into this at no charge to the customer which most shops would. We will figure it out sorry for any inconviences.

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.
I would like to add that when asked about any preexisting electrical problems
I did respond that it wouldnt start once, a couple of months prior. I drove the vehicle daily since and have never had another problem. I know electrical it not their specialty but believe most vehicles needing new engines are older and have fragile wires from the Arizona heat. So this has to be a problem that occurs regularly. My problem is they have had my truck over months now and I still dont know when I will get it back, and I paid in full after the first week. They are promising Monday the 18th. If I get it back this coming week I will be happy.
Regards,
***** *******

hello,
Mr. Bandaic Kwek sent a text to the owners cell sept 20 saying he had a problem with his engine. That was on a friday he was asked over the phone call to bring it in Monday. That Monday he sent a text saying he was bringing it down Sept 23. he did not bring car in that day. Then on oct 1 he sent a text saying he was bringing car in. Again car did not show up. He agreed mulitiple times to bring the car in and never did. than we talked on the phone around oct 1 he said he was bringing his car down again. He said he cant bring it down on Monday cause he works. we said for the tow truck to pick up he doesnt need to be there. He said he could bring it down on a Tuesday we agreed. Than he called and said he is not going to tow his car back. Cause he wasn't going to pay for a tow. we said we paid for the original tow your responsable for the next tow. As per signed contract. We have rebuilt this engine for him around 10 years ago. It ran great all those years. We built this engine again for him after he lost the oil in first engine. Mr Bandaic Kwek Called Oct 21 and said he will be bringing in his car Oct 24 we are waiting. If it is a warranty issue we have no problem with taking care of his car. the only time he was told to wait was one time cause it was on a friday and asked to bring in that monday.

My car was brought to this business mid to late July by a friend. The friend made multiple contacts and the car had not been checked on. After taking matters into my own hands I went to the office on September 5th to check on status. They had not yet even taken a look at the car stating oh we can look at it tomorrow the next day was a Thursday they did not answer my call. When I called again the next Monday they stated they did not yet finish looking at it or have an estimate. But the end of that week they gave an estimate and recommended I use Snap as a financier to ensure the car was paid for. This is a high interest loan but after securing the loan they stated they would begin working on it Wednesday 9/18 and hopefully have it complete on either 9/20 or 9/23. I made contact 9/19 to see if it would be ready and sent multiple text messages to which they did not respond until after they closed that it would most likely be done on 9/23. I contacted multiple times on 9/23 to see if it would be ready that day to which they did not respond. I again called and text on 9/24 and again did not receive contact back. On 9/25 I made several calls and finally someone answered and told me the technician responsible for the vehicle had to be out of office due to the birth of child and would be back soon. I asked why I was not contacted about this sooner and was not given an answer just that it will be finished when he is done. I asked more and he said it will be done probably Monday 9/30. I voiced that the agreement for the loan with the company was complete and that they have had my car in their possession for almost a full 2 months. I was brushed off and the person on the phone said goodbye.Business Response

For the complaint from ***** **********. We don,t usually do transmissions but a friend called me and asked if we would. he said ******* car needed the torque converter and clutch components and the ***** transmission computer. we bought the transmission parts from orielly as they were the only ones that had them and the transmission computer from Autozone. We installed them and his car was still having problems. we called a computer person he said that the *** probably needs programmed. we scheduled him to come out he was 2 weeks out. we let ***** know. When he showed up he said he wasn't able to with the program he had that he would have to come back another day. about a week or week and a half he showed back up and again wasn't able to program it. he said something was defective. we than called the **** dealership the clutch, torque converter system was special order would be about a week. The *** was backordered. we gave dates to ***** as we received them from the parts places. we do not make these parts so we have no control over when we receive them. Replacing these parts is a lot of labor. When received the parts from **** we removed the defective parts and replaced them with the **** parts. His car seemed to run great. We charged ***** $2500 total. the clutch and torque converter and components cost us our cost $1650 now the *** cost us $1100 we have $2750 plus Labor. all we intended on doing was to help a friend of a friend. ***** has his car and we haven't heard from. We also loaned him a truck for a short period of time. we intentionally didn't do anything wrong if his car would have been taken to a **** dealership the work would have been roughly $6000. and would have had it the same amount of time as we did. if you were to call **** they will tell you the parts are on backorder and not sure when will be available.Initial Complaint

On October 16, 2023, The Engine Builders picked up my truck from my storage facility for an engine rebuild. Two weeks later, they informed me the repair was complete and included a warranty for parts and labor. However, the day after I picked up the truck, the check engine light came on, and the engine was knocking loudly. I scheduled a time for them to retrieve the truck and diagnose the issue. Today is September 20, 2024, and I still havent received my truck back. Each time I called, I was met with excuses for the delays in repairing it. After a while, I began visiting the shop in person, only to find my truck sitting there for months without an engine installed. I was repeatedly told they were waiting for parts. Seven months into this ordeal, they finally installed the engine, but now the truck remains untouched, with continued excuses about waiting on more parts. While I understand a repair might take a month or even two, this extended delay is beyond frustrating, and theyve stopped answering my calls or returning messages.Business Response

Hello,
we built Mr **** **** Ranger a few days later he said it had a check engine light. We recieved it back his Distributor camshaft sensor went bad. we replaced it and seemed to run good. he picked it up ended up bringing it back for making a tapping noise. ( lifters ) the lifters were new from ******** which are the best you can get for these engines. We wanted to make sure that was the only problem so we went ahead and pulled his engine. and we ended up building a completely diffrent engine and installing. being close to a 15 year old truck it had other problems which we corrected. he has had his truck for awhile now. sorry for any inconvines. we use only the best parts available for our engine build and we send most customers pictures of the ******************** and parts we use.

Our pickup blew the engine in March 2023. We hired the engine rebuilders in *********** to replace or repair. We got the pickup returned to us with a warranty that if anything went wrong with the engine they would replace or repair it. The pickup had less than 500 miles on the new engine when it broke down. We hauled it back to ******** in September 2023. We have called or texted about once a week since then, either they didnt respond or had a different excuse each time. The pickup has been in their shop for the past 8 months with no date of return. We think weve been very patient however we would appreciate getting the pickup back repaired.Business Response

hello,
****** And ****** ********. The ********,s truck we built the engine probably a month later he called to say something happened to it. we recieved it back pulled his engine out and we didnt find anything wrong with the engine. Pictures were sent showing no damage. we built another engine and it wasn't running correctly. the truck had multiple problems beside the engine. Had an egr valve bad, had injector problems, and it had a bad fuel pump. the fan clutch was not working correctly which was causing it to overheat. we also replaced the radiator. The engine had a weird noise in it which we couldn't figure out so the last engine we installed went ahead and replaced the transmission Torque converter. after that the noise went away. The ********** have their truck back. sorry for any inconviences. We did alot of extra work that was not apart of the engine build at no cost.

I paid $3290 to this "Business" to rebuild the engine in my vehicle. I had less than 200 miles on the vehicle when the oil light came on & the engine started to knock. I called the owner, **** on 9/18/23 & advised him of the situation. He said to have it towed in, but to wait a week because they were "Backed up". On 9/25/23 I texted him to verify he was ready for the vehicle, he said to bring it in. I advised him that this was my only transportation since I had just sold my other vehicle & asked that he make it a priority. I also advised I just had it detailed & asked that the techs try to limit the grease on the inside (It was filthy when I picked it up the 1st time). On 10/9 I called & left a msg requesting status. I also texted him. On 10/16 I called, he said the problem is an oil ************* ordered a new one. I expl that the veh has a knock in the engine so it can't be an oil sensor, he said he would call me back at 9:45 am. At 12:20 I texted him & requested a status - no response. On 10/19 I called & LM, also texted him twice. He responded he would be at his shop about 1 pm & would get back to me. At 3:01 pm I texted him again requesting a status. He responded that he still wasn't at his shop. I again asked that he have someone test drive the vehicle as it has a knock in the engine. on 10/19 at 4:38 pm **** texted & said he would drive the vehicle the next morning. On 10/20, he called about 12:30 pm & said they would rebuild the engine. 10/27 I called & texted 3 times requesting a status. He responded & said they are putting a diff engine in the vehicle & said it would be ready next week. On 11/6 I req a status. on 11/7 I he had **** call me, who advised there were 2 vehicles in front of mine. **** then advised it would be done by Thanksgiving. I called 11/20 & **** advised he was in ****** but the mechanic was working on my veh. A friend went by & advised they were closed. His voicemail also advised they were closed that week. Over 13 weeks & still no veh.Business Response
