1 starThey are terrible! Take a ************* don't hear back on installation. You call for follow up, are given the runaround, then they finally schedule appointment. The day of the appointment, they call claiming Tech forgot to pick up the part to install.Review fromD. S

1 starDishonest and unethical. I made an appointment for a $29 garage door tuneup. I was told nothing else. When the technician arrived, the total was $150 or something. He said there is a $110 trip charge. I said I was not doing it, so then he wanted the $110 for the trip. When I absolutely refused to pay it, he called the office. They agreed to do the tuneup for $29 + tax. I'm not sure I trust their work. And I certainly didn't want to give this company my credit card info, so I paid by check. The technician even removed the sticker of the (honest) company that installed the door.Review fromLinda H

1 starI Do not recommend! I asked for a whole new garage door system, I received a quote. I accepted them at their word a whole new system includes replacing the old system. At Dons it does not. They do not stand behind their work, per ******* list- I was highly overcharge ,I had to contact customer service for 2 weeks leaving 3 messages before any **** responded. Their "whole new system" for $1800 doesn't include the piece called " the garage door opener", it doesn't include a wall pad replacement, it doesn't include the drop string, it doesn't include The fobs. But - what they recommend is they can now replace that system with a system they have in stock- that normally costs $1000- but will give to me for another $500.00! Pictures attached ( if accepted). Total RIP- OFF- don't use this scam operation.Review fromJulie B

1 starHOME OWNERs and Property managers BEWARE. I requested this garage door company to come out because of a coupon I got in the mail for a tune up. It was deceptive and had many "conditions" which were unclear and misleading. They wanted to charge 3x's the amount per extra garage door. AND then they said my springs were bad and needed to be replaced and quoted me up to $1500 to "replace 2 garage door springs". I had a different company come out for a second opinion. They checked out my garage doors, said the springs do NOT need replacing, and did a minor tightening on one garage door, which the second company did for free... Don's Garage Doors company had attempted to upsell me on unnecessary parts, misrepresented the coupons they had sent out, and truly upset me to the point of needing to publicly post about my experience.Review fromJacqueline W

1 starIf I could leave a less than one star I would!!**** came out to give us a quote for a new garage door. The door is a one car garage door, not insulated and we just wanted the panels of the door replaced.**** said that it would be between $4000.00 and $40,000.00!SERIOUSLY!!**** also said that after he did the measurements he would send the information over to someone for them to email over the quote! That's been two weeks ago! No information has been received!I made it clear that even $4000.00 was way too much for what we would pay. Then **** said that the company has a payment plan we could do! I said I don't think so!The day after **** was here we seen an advertisement for a garage door from ******* for less than $400! Sorry ***** you are just out pricing yourself!Review fromEdward B

1 starI requested service from Dons Garage. After the completion I became curious about the costs and went online to research parts and cost. I soon learned that I payed nine hundred dollars for Garage door opener that could be purchased at Lowes, ********** for less then three hundred dollars. I carefully looked at what was installed and believed I could have done the install. Total cost to me sixteen hundred dollars. I am sorry I did business with them i did notify them of my dissatisfaction and have not heard a word.WARRNING BE CAREFUL IF DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS GROUP.Review fromDaniel B

1 starI blame myself for not checking out Dons carefully before hiring them. I bit on a $29.95 tune up deal, but was talked into an $800 deal by the end of Dons visit. The tech was an experienced marketer and I hadnt done my homework. The $800 deal was said to be a discounted price that lasted only while the tech was at my home. No time for my thought or research. Tech offered to add installation of three (3) upgraded bearings if I opted for the $12.95/mo maintenance plan. I declined and later found that the bearings retail for $5/each. Further research found that the two (2) springs that cost me $627 are available online for $101. Spring replacement was recommended because the installed springs were 2 years old and allegedly near the end of their dependable performance. Finally, this is the only tune-up of the many Ive purchased that showed no evidence of lubrication of the springs, door hinges, or track bearings. Door now squeaks during operation.Expensive ****** learned.Review fromRick K

Re: ***** Garage Door - unable to post as a recommendation Customer BEWARE. The previous home owner had a card for ***** Garage door, so I called when I thought I might need a tune-up. New owners of ***** Garage Door now, and now use very scammy tactics. Gave a tune up, and said the jerky motion was normal. Was going to charge me a trip fee, so I just said give it a tune up. They ended up putting me on a monthly re-occuring charge in addition to service (was not made aware they were doing this, and yes, I know I should have read the fine print) but I was unaware because I only use that savings account for home repairs. After several attempts to get a call back, they only respond in text messages and kept saying regional manager would contact me, but never did. I cannot recommend them and if you previously used them, they are not the same reputable company of the past.Don's Garage Doors

Our vehicle roof rack hung up on our garage door as it was closing which resulted in a badly damaged door panel, rails and cable, all user error. The damaged door was inoperable. We called Don's Garage Doors after the first local company we called could not get to our house right away. ***** field technician got the door rollers back in the rails and disconnected from the opener. Our home has a 3 car garage, a double door and a single door. Our damaged door was the double door. This is a 5 panel, metal insulated carriage style door, with 4 glass vision panels across the top panel. The field technician stated that the door manufacturer (CHI) was out of business and they could not match the damaged panels. They offered to quote a new door to closely match the damaged unit. The technician showed us the slight differences in the door panel appearance which was to be acceptable. ***'s prepared a proposal on the spot and we reviewed it together on the phone the 'sales manager' as well. We were taken back at the proposal price - $11,500+ inclusive of a new opener for approximately $1,200. We needed an operating door asap and trusted Don's Garage Doors as they installed the original doors, we agreed to pay the 50% deposit to get the new door on order which had a 3-5 week lead time. We provided the proposal and photos to our insurance carrier. They responded, the price looked high and issued payment for approx. 65% of the down payment value. To support ***'s cost proposal we solicited two new proposals which came in at $5,000+ and $6,000+. The $6,000 proposal included matching the exact original door and door company that ***'s said was out of business! After providing ***'s with copies of the other proposals they offered to price match the $6,000 proposal. The door was installed today and now the window size does not match the other door - again, not conveyed. ***** was not transparent and only had their $ in mind!Don's Garage Doors
