1 starThis is an awful company to work for. They are not paying me for a sick day. They are saying that I had to request to use a sick day and I did . Only 2nd day called out sick in almost a year Got let go for a ludicrous reason.. They take advantage of people who have a disability and have killed numerous dogs in the kennel and the grooming shop with horrific and unsanitary practices in kennel.Review fromNidia M

1 starDo your research before grooming. I dropped off a healthy dog and came home with dead dog. Petsmart rushed my dog to vet emergency after taking out of dryer with difficulty breathing. Went into heart failure and died at vet hospital. They paid vet bill and had a representative contact us. Asked to see video, they reviewed it but never showed us. Petsmart said she had a previous heart murmur condition, but she did not. A heart murmur is an irregular heart beat which can also be caused during heart failure. Both vet in hospital and her personal vet confirmed that. Petsmart also said the dog was 9 years old, but this breed is not considered senior til 13 yrs. When I did my research Petsmart has many lawsuits for similar cases. I just dont want another dog to suffer. Looks like its mostly small dogs. Just do your research and dont be afraid to ask questions.Review fromTony w

1 starWent and bought a bag of dog food yesterday and the price had gone up 33% like what the ****and trying to get a hold of the ''BBB'' is impossible to even try to get a answer. The people that own this place should be taken to court or there license taken away. If you are a sincere animal lover than I would find another place to ********** your needs as time's are tough enough so it's nice to have the animal in your life without people at places like pet smart can get away with such terrible acts of cruelty to the people and animals that protect us show us love and are there for us.Thanks for the ''BBB'' for letting me have a say but at the same time you would think that the so called ''BBB'' would act on such ''CRAP'' . I am in ****** and the ''BBB'' are in the US go figure thats why nothing gets done way to go ''BBB'Review fromdjoanna r

1 starPetSmart ********* ***: Horrible experience with their grooming salon staff. Walked in yesterday to have my dog's nails done and since they were overbooked, we were offered an appointment today. They weren't satisfied with the paperwork I showed for my dog's rabies vaccine so they said no problem, they will just contact the vet. All fine, I just asked if there was any problem to call me before the appointment so we don't have to make the trip. This morning, got no call, but just to make sure esp. since the weather and roads were horrible, I called before going there and was told, yeah his appointment is all good to go, we can even accomodate him earlier. As I was driving there, I got a call from them saying, yeah, we just called the vet, no answer so you know we can reschedule for later or another day. This was something you said you would do beforehand and I even called to confirm! The people working here DO NOT CARE! long story short, we made the trip for nothing so we will avoid petsmart at all costs!!!Review fromSpencer G

1 starTheir chain of in-house animal hospitals, ********, nearly killed my cat when they gave her DOUBLE the amount of anesthesia as was needed for her weight, and they had to resuscitate her several times. They allow water to circulate between every tank in their aquatic department, and they keep sick fish in tanks connected to this system, which introduced dropsy into our home aquarium and killed all of our fish in a matter of days. After using their services exclusively to purchase filters for an aquarium filtration system I bought from them they cancelled my order because they said my "email address was created too recently", which is funny because I've had it for 12 years, and told me if I wanted to resolve it I should create a rewards account with them. I will never do business with PetSmart again.Review fromJoshua N

1 starPetSmart shows abhorrent displays of unregulated Capitalism at work with no means of care, compassion or focused goals that only further damage to its reputation. I have worked at a location for nearly 4 1/2 years and management continues to prove their ineptitude and overall lack of care throughout many of the store locations throughout the nation. Never in my life would I imagine working for a location where the head manager has little to no knowledge on products, a fault that bleeds in to employment as you are ultimately thrown to the wolves in order to solve things as an employee ******************** will gaslight you in to believing that it's YOUR fault at the end of the day and will take whatever means necessary to reinforce that there was nothing they could do in many situations and feign igorance to legitimate thoughts and concerns.Management proves time and time again that the ultimate goal is to drive home a sale, even at the expense of their employees, the pets and the customers that they claim to help. Many stores have inadequate supplies for taking care of pets in a critical and urgent manner and many managerial staff will recommend a veterinarian or another vendor in the event that it proves to be too much of a challenge even though the public goal of the store is to do ANYTHING FOR PETS.There is an unwillingness to assist people that management exudes, uncooperative demeanors and outright miscommunication throughout the entire store. Abhorrent and abysmal.Review fromTiffany M

1 starPlease listen to the reviews! I had my dog groomed at my local Petmart and I was very disappointed. They took way too much fur off my dog. Nothing like I asked for! When I picked him up my whole hoodie was filled with dog hair. How is this possible when I just paid them to clean him up. Never again. I expressed dissatisfaction and the next thing I know I'm on the refuse to groom list.If you care for your animal. Never take them here!!!Review fromDaniel N

1 starWe made an appointment online to get our dog groomed and get his nails done. The app told us it was going to be a certain amount and when my wife got there, they told her a different amount $15 dollars higher. Then, they said that our dog was "nervous" therefore they need to charge an additional $10. On top of it, the groomer was late and very rude.I am more worried about the difference in the amounts they charge online vs the amount once you are there. Something fishy about it.Review fromMargaret C

1 starPet Smart Grooming Salon in *********** put my dog on a Refuse-to-Groom" list after I complained because they failed to bring her from the pet hotel in the store to the grooming salon in September 2022for an appointment I had made on-line. I let them know that I had a screenshot of the reservation the I believed had gone through. I was angry because I had scheduled an extra day at the pet hotel to make sure she could be groomed before I brought her home. Because I complained about this, the manager of the Monroeville Pet Smart Grooming Salon had said in a snippy and highly unprofessional way, "We will never groom your dog here again." This woman obviously should not be in a management position. It wasn't the dog's fault! The dog has never been a problem and is in no way aggressive. I have taught assertiveness skills to many and know that I was being assertive, not aggressive in any way. To the store manager's credit, Pet Smart did not charge me for the extra day. I appreciate that but when I went to schedule my dog for another Pet Smart ********* stay today (January 22, 2023) and tried to schedule her grooming appointment during that stay, I learned that the dog, ***** is still on this Monroeville Pet Smart's "Do-Not-Schedule" list for grooming. Can you believe that this company would allow this type of a retaliatory manager to remain in her position when she behaves this way? Her retaliatory behavior is suggestive of a personality disorder or extreme emotional immaturity. It is also discriminatory. I am a disabled older adult who has a difficult time getting my dog to and from grooming therefore it helps me to have the grooming done while she is staying at the ********* in the same Pet Smart store. If the grooming manager doesn't like me, she has no need to interact with me...just the dog. Today, the store manager (" Dani...e.") did nothing to resolve the matter and could be heard talking negatively about me to someone after she thought she had hung up the phone.Review fromJoe K.

1 starWe signed up for a 6-week training course for our puppy online at the ****** (store ****) store (starting 1/12/23) only to be told 2 days before the start of the class that the class was full and we would either be refunded or had to sign up for another class. Unfortunately we already made accomodations to our schedule and could not change to another class time. Furthermore, the commitments we made involved losses in income opportunities for our work. Both the trainer and manager who we talked to were dismissive and rude when we tried to explain this to them. I understand there is a cap to these training classes. However, this goes beyond simply receiving a refund (which in an of itself has been difficult to recieve); again we are losing out on income opportunities (which we were willing to do had we been able to attend the course). If the class was full, why were we able to sign up in the first place? Most important of all, for a company that prides itself on pet care, they should understand that our pet is losing out on socialization and training opportunities. This was very disappointing.
