It is almost impossible to cancel the service. I canceled before the recurring invoice cycle and scheduled for the trash can to be picked up. It wasn't picked up and I had to call again. They didn't show that I hadn't canceled, but they had a recording of the call and saw that I had canceled. Two weeks later they pick up the trash can and charge me58.47. A ***** dollar pick-up fee for the trash can, plus a ***** dollar environmental impact fee and fuel fee. There was no reason for the fuel and environmental impact fee if I wasn't getting service. It took five calls to get to this point.Republic Services Inc

I canceled my service at the end of the last month I had paid, May 31, 2022. I canceled by letter to the billing address after holding on the phone for 2 hours (that is not an exaggeration). They continued to **** me my calling and mail since that time. I finally managed to get someone on the line in July and he told me their billing company only takes billing and did not pass on that information. However, they did not stop to pick up my trash after that because I was using another company as of June 1st. He said he would show I stopped my services as of May 31st. He said they would pick up the can on July 23rd and I would be charged $30 for them to pick it up. I told him it is not my can, it is theirs, and I refused to pay them to pick up their own can. I'm still getting bills and phone calls. I called again today. I explained again I stopped service on May 31st, I was paid up until then, and I don't owe them anything. I asked her to stop the phone calls and bills. She said I would still get bills for gas surcharge and to pick up the can. I said I shouldn't have a surcharge if they aren't picking up my trash. And if they want their can they can get it but I don't intend to pay them for that, anymore than they would expect to pay me if they had something I own and I picked it up. All I want is the harassment to stop.Republic Services Inc

I was changing trash collection from Republic primarily because of constant price increases. I never said anything about this to them. A neighbor told me about another company which was significantly lower priced. I was never on a contract.When I called to cancel, my payment had just drafted which left me a credit balance $143.26. I had to call four times to get refund and was then told the were charging me $92.71 to pick up the cart that I paid $50 in the beginning for cart to be delivered. On their website it says if youre not on signed contract you will not be charged more than $ 50 for pickup of cart. I Icalled and was told that was a new thing by ***** at Republic. My husband was in hospital and cart was not picked up. This cancellation request was done 5/26/22 I received a refund of $50.55 today 8/24/22 from my $143.26 credit.Republic Services Inc

I sent information requested by Republic services per their request. Ironically they sent me a copy of their delivery and pick up fees that are differs than the ones I have a photo copy of. Mine says if youre not on contract your delivery and pickup fee will not exceed $50. They sent me a copy from something that specifically does not say that! I have a copy of mine that I sent them but dont know if I can scan to my review! Any advice?Vickie K.

I wish we had an option for another provider but we don't and it seems they know it. We have auto payment set up and twice this year they charged us a little more (< $1) than the prior rate yet still only deducted the prior amount and then billed us for something like $0.36 (and expect us to pay it manually). Then when I try they won't accept a payment for less than $1.00 so I have to pay them more than I owe because of two issues on their end. When trying to contact customer service, the first answer was completely wrong (blamed my billing preferences) and then another answer that wasn't much better. And of course, the way they respond via email is through an address you cannot respond to so the next complaint effectively starts the process all over. An don't bother selecting the "call me" option to try and handle it efficiently because they will email you to say they cannot do that. Don't think the customer service could be worse if they tried. Ignoring me would be less frustrating...Republic Services Inc

After using this company for a decade, their service has become unacceptable over the past 6 months. I have filed dozens of complaints with them, called their support number, and spoken with the drivers. My trash rarely gets picked up even after they raised the price approximately 60% in the past quarter. I have arranged to switch companies, but people need to know that this company is providing basically zero service. Buyer beware. I hope to get a refund, but based on how they do everything else, I am not optimistic.Republic Services Inc

I have submitted well over a dozen email submissions for missed pickups and you have sent auto-responses to each of those stating that you would schedule a pickup. Almost no luck to date. 1st my **** went from $140 every 3 months for 3 cans to over $200. We choice a different company been with them for 6yrs. I Call and canceled my account and I am told that it will be $134 to pick up their trash cans from my yard. Which will not be until Sept 8th. This is highway robbery. I live less that 1 mile from the company. I do not recommend this company to no one. Watch out they get you in and take you for a complete ride for your money.Republic Services Inc

Also found out most people are charged $30 a can. Well I have and you are charging me $134 but 3 x $30= $90(which too is still ridiculous to charge me to pick your product up) so you $44 extra dollars crooks.Review fromMark B

Too bad there is not a negative star you can pick. These guys truly ****. Unresponsive, unprofessional, they take your money and then BS you on delivery. Note the canned responses to the complaints, this is who they are. I was promised service on a Friday, paid in advance, they missed the service (didn't show up) and on Monday I called 4 times and spoke with multiple people and was assured that they would be out on that day. Guess what? That's right, no show. Save yourself the aggravation and go with another company unless you don't care if or when they will get to you.Republic Services Inc

I was a Republic customer for over 2 yrs, On initial sign-up the customer support agent offered me a free container. Absolutely no mention of any fee on discontinuing service. When attempting to get better pricing after the 1st yr, which was offered, I inquired about another container. The price now was ridiculous to have a container delivered and close to double any other trash service. I was told too at this time there would be another charge if service was discontinued. This pricing dissuaded me from renewing and prompted me to cancel my service.In summation, I have no issues for paying for charges that I've been informed of. It seems to be fraudulent practice when there isn't disclosure. In fact I was told by Republic that the charges are disclosed in the fine print of the service contract. In my book that doesn't cut it. Beware of this company and the charging/fee structure of their billing. Also the customer service lacks. The service itself was decent. Too bad the rest of the company is not honorable.Republic Services Inc
