Was helping a ***** move this weekend and we had reserved a Uhaul for 11am on Saturday. Picked up the truck and were told were all good to go! Once getting the truck home to start packing we realized there was a lock on the back of the truck and no key for it to our knowledge. We called Uhaul to see about the key, and if it was in the vehicle somewhere. No answer. Called the corporate line next. Agent we spoke with said it isnt normal for a truck to leave the lot with the lock still on. They attempted to get a hold of the location but got no response. We were told wed have to go back to the location to get the key. Drove back to Uhaul and was given a key. Drove back to the house and the key wasnt even close. Went back a third time and finally got the correct key for the truck. Left Uhaul to finally start moving. Upon returning the truck I pulled into the parking lot as I was the ride home after dropping off the truck. After waiting in line for a bit an employee asked if I could move my car to another park of the lot. No problem! I pulled into said spot and immediately had another employee yell at me to move from there. I explained that first employee had asked me to go there and was promptly told that she was the manager and I had to leave now. The parking lot exit was blocked by uhaul vehicles at this moment so then had to ask an employee to unblock the lot so I could make good on being kicked out. Texted my ***** that I was kicked out and would have to pick him up from another nearby lot whenever the return was done. He mentioned the fact that a manager had kicked me out when checking out and was told that there was no manager in today and that the supervisor (individual who kicked me out under pretense of managing) was the highest in charge there. They then tried to charge my ***** extra for exceeded mileage. ****** was dropped after explaining again that the extra miles were driving to and from uhaul 3 times for the correct key.U-Haul International Inc

I made a reservation at this location a week ago and the only time available was 7am today. I called this location a couple of days ago and **** walked me through how the process would work.I showed up this morning at 7am, but an employee explained to me that Uhaul has an issue in their reservation system that allows locations to accept reservations even when timeslots are closed off. They said I would have to try another location and that location didn't have availabilty for another two days.I would not recommend relying on Uhaul's reservation system as you can't guarentee they'll have the inventory needed for it.U-Haul International Inc

Buyers beware! This past week we were supposed to transport furniture from one place to another. Since my husband and I had to drive 4.5 hours where we had to pack up the furniture, I reserved a Uhaul almost 4 months in advance. The booking was done online, where I received a printed confirmation that the location I chose was my preference which meant the location could change for pick up. One week before the reservation date, I called to confirm the location. Again, called the day before only to be informed that they havent found a location yet. After phoning them several times, and not receiving returned phone calls, we finally were phoned at about 6:30 pm the night before that a truck will be available at a location 1.5 hours away (3 hour return to our starting point). Also, the truck will no longer be available at the reservation time of 9am. It would only be available at 2 pm. They told me they reserve the right to change your pickup location AND the time (this was not stated on my printed confirmation from the website upon booking). My husband had to take two days off from work for this move, we drove 4.5 hours to get to the destination where the move was to commence, organized / paid for movers to help load/unload the truck. The move did not happen. The order with Uhaul had to be cancelled because the truck was not available at the time that was scheduled. I spoke with others about what has happened, only to find out that they, too, have gone through a similar experience. I truly dont know how this company can be in business. How can people plan a move when they cant even schedule a time for pickup nor a location, regardless how much in advance they book the reservation? Im sharing my experience, not to expect any resolution from Uhaul, but to protect other consumers from falling victim as we have. They truly have shown NO empathy for the chaos they have created which has resulted from their absolute lack of customer service.U-Haul International Inc

I had gone online the SAME DAY I rented the truck to extend it by 24 hours. I was told I could not do it online, so I attempted to reserve a smaller truck the day I turned in the one I had. I could not do that either. I called for an extention and the woman on the phone told me the extention would only cost $18 and some change (I believe she said $18.67). When I turned the rental in, I was charged $40. I told them what I was told.on the phone, and they didn't want to listen, simply said nope, it's $40 for an extra 24 hours. Didn't even attempt to contact them to confirm what I was told on the phone. I don't appreciate being lied to or treated like I am the one who lied. Had they originally told me $40, that would have been fine, but I was not told that. I was told $18.67. It also doesn't help that the truck battery died while it was parked and I had to wait outside in 30 degree weather for roadside to show up to jump the truck. I am extremely unhappy with my whole experience and will never deal with that location again.U-Haul International Inc

On Wednesday, March 22nd, I reserved a truck and car carrier for the following Wednesday. However, yesterday, a representative called me to inform me that they did not have a car carrier available. He suggested that there was one available in ***********, which is about 35 minutes away from Kingston, and I agreed to pick it up from there. The confirmation was given, but only an hour later, I received another call that the website was not updated, and *************** was no longer available. I asked if there was any other option, but the only suggestion was to rent the truck and bring it back, which would cost over $400, $100 more than the initial price. Additionally, I would have to drive back from Ajax to drop it off, pick up my car, and drive back up, which would take an additional 5 hours. It is frustrating that they did not inform me of this earlier, and now I have to scramble to figure something else out. Thank you, U-HaulU-Haul International Inc

Very dissatisfied. Resolution was never solved, been calling in for two-three weeks still seeking for a resolution. They tried to charge me for being late, incorrect gas, and over the mileage. All of this is wrong and I have picture proof, but yet they still dont acknowledge it. They gave me an auto transporter with broken straps which is a serious hazard and cannot be used. I waited so long on Uhaul roadside assistance to show up and ended up getting home at 3 am because of this I had to call off work the next day. My job starts at 5 am and there was no way I was able to function to come in because my job is hard labor. They didnt acknowledge this at all and the manager said it was my problem. To this day Im seeking a resolution and do not recommend this business to anyone.U-Haul International Inc

The cost of the auto transport was refunded as well as a gift certificate was issued. I placed online orders to rent a van for 4 hours and a dolly from Uhaul but after picking up the van, I was informed that they rented out the dolly I’d reserved to someone else. The man at the front desk tried to call around to the neighboring Uhaul to see if they had any dollys available but none were. All of this was incredibly time consuming after standing in line for a long time. This incident ended up ruining my moving experience. After the store was unable to resolve my issue I messaged Anthony S********** the Uhaul General Manager but he replied with a very unhelpful response. This is the worst service I’ve ever had from any business during a move. Stay away from this company, Anthony S********** does not value his customers as you can see in the screenshots!U-Haul International Inc

I can't believe the incompetence and rudeness of ********************************************* Help staff. I have been passed around, hung up on, not listened to, and both companies refuse to take ownership for messing up my reservation which is now costing me over a thousand extra dollars to rebook my moving pod. I cant agree more with all of the other 1 star reviews! Everyone at this location is completely incompetent and does not care about customer service or their customers time. I have never tried so hard to give a company my money and they failed in more ways than I can explain. Ill skip all the boring stuff but after showing up to my hitch appoint (that was supposed to take about an hour) an hour and fifteen minutes after sitting in the waiting area my vehicle had not been touched. Went up and asked the manager what was going on and he replied sorry we dont have the hitch. How long did it take to figure that out? And how long would they have let me sit there? No time for their nonsense. Dont waste your time with these people! And uhaul please dont wast your time with your well thought out response like in the hundreds of horrible reviews before this one. JUST FIX THE PROBLEM (aka every employee at that site)U-Haul International Inc

************ 3-point 2-face wretched location! They let the big black ******** woman rule over this place and if she doesnt like you or if you get on her bad side, well then you will most definitely get her man hating version of putting you in your place customer appreciation! She will and has contacted me via non business contact numbers to threaten to dump my belongings into the dumpster because she felt she was not in total control on how I obtained a storage unit here, which she totally messed up the reservation and I went out of my way to insure the uhaul truck was emptied and ready for the next customer the following day and coordinated with u-haul customer service over the phone to get into a unit, so she got mad at this and even more so when u-haul gave me a free months rental on account of justt how ugly and nasty this woman had acted! And FYI, this place is independent and just stickers the uhaul name but entirely runs independent of uhaul policy and the decency sets of customer appreciation. Even now as I am here my unit locked even after I paid it she kept the lock on it because I was late on payment but have since paid it but she refuses to unlock it and called the police on me and said that there was someone drunk. I guess to get me in trouble. This lady is evil and the people who keep her here are just as culpable for letting this go in and another thing I have witnessed here, is that the units that they get for auctions, well this woman goes into them and rummages thru them taking out the valuable things and leaves all the crappy stuff behind! I witness with my own eyes and the staff are complicit on this and I will and have reported them so if you have gotten an auction unit here, Id ask for a refund!
