On 10/28/23, I went to Discount Tire to have a tire replaced. They jacked my vehicle up and fixed the tire. They damaged my automatic running boards. They did not say anything about the damage. I have been in contact with their fleet claims department who has denied my claim several times. The running boards on the passenger side were bent and locked up. I have pictures of the ******************* where they jacked by the running boards and of the damaged running boards. They are refusing to pay repairs.Business Response

On 12/21/23 I placed an order on **** through discount tires special pricing. I paid them at time of purchase. It was 4 wheels for $218. I then received a message saying my purchase was refunded. I advised them I did not want a refund, I wanted the product. They advised me it was an error. Even if it was an error they need to honor their price, I paid them for their advertised product. I know others that took part in the special pricing are receiving their items (I have a screenshot of proof for this). All I am asking is for them to honor what they had listed. If this is not figured out and honor the pricing they had listed I will escalate this to the ************************ of consumer protection. They cannot honor some of the purchases but not all of them. I have been a loyal customer of **********************, but if they do not make this right I will not ever go back. Discount tire charged me for tires online that they did not have available. I paid in advance for these tires and made an installation appt for eight days later. I was not notified until I was physically present at my appointment that the tires I paid for were not available (their website stated that they were available upon ordering and payment). They attempted to sell me other tires, but this bait and switch technique was not acceptable to me. I assume my money will be refunded, but I drove about 150 miles roundtrip and wasted a significant amount of time on the promise to buy an agreed upon set of tires that was reportedly available.Business Response

I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received at the establishment on 12/15/2023. I visited the ******* location for a tire rotation and to address concerns regarding my vehicle's tires.I purchased and replaced two rear tires in June. Upon arriving at *******, I inquired about the waiting time for a tire rotation with air check and asked if it was possible to change my front tires. Despite not having made an appointment, I was informed that the service would be completed by 2-3pm. Relying on this information, I decided to proceed with changing the front tires, rotation, and aircheck.However, the actual waiting time far exceeded the estimated completion time. I arrived at the store at 11 am but ended up waiting until 5 pm, which significantly inconvenienced me. Moreover, when I expressed my concerns about the delay, the attitude of the staff towards my complaint was unsatisfactory and unprofessional.To compound these issues, upon receiving my vehicle, I discovered that it had been parked in the *** parking lot across the road, despite being assured it would be in the Discount Tire parking lot. This caused unnecessary confusion and wasted more of my time.After departing from the store and inspecting my vehicle, I found that the promised tire rotation and air check had not been performed as requested. On December 16th, I took the initiative to double-check my tire condition personally to ensure that the agreed-upon rotation and air check had not been completed. This raises doubts about whether the front tire replacement was completed at all, given the negligence regarding the additional services agreed upon.I request immediate rectification of the situation and a thorough investigation into what transpired during my visit. On December 2nd, we purchased 4 new tires for a ***** Equinox 2018 enroute from ******* to ******* for a sea cruise. Enroute back from the cruise on December 10th, the next day we actually drove the car, one of our wheel studs cracked in two, likely as a function of over-torquing from installation. An immediate repair was required due to part of the stud becoming stuck inside our rotor. Two Discount Tire shops have subsequently refused to perform the labor required to replace the stud, even if I offer the part out of pocket. Given the likelyhood of failure manifesting as a function of their installation, this refusal strikes me as incredibly egregious. Is it *really* Discount Tire's policy that if a wheel stud breaks off immediately following a tire installation, that is entirely the customer's problem? That is certainly the message I'm currently getting.Business Response

12/07/2023 discount tire took possession of my car to install 4 new tires, while installing the tire on one wheel it seems they dropped the wheel as there is now a spot through the powder coating showing rub marks similar to concrete and an indented flat spot. There is also now 3 spots on the spokes of the same wheel where the powder coating was gouged off by a tool or some other means. repair quote from the same company that powder coated my wheels is around $200 plus a full day with my wheel where I wont be able to drive. I took a video of each wheel prior to my appointment, on the wheel in question there was a small rock chip on the outer rim where the damage was expanded, and no damage on the spokes prior. screenshots from the video are attached as before pics as well as pics showing the damage after the appointment.Business Response

On December 6th, 2023, at 12:34 PM I called Discount Tire on **** **********. ****, ***** and spoke with an employee asking if Discount Tire sells stock rims. The salesperson said yes, they can either order from the dealership which is more expensive, or they also have access to aftermarket rims. I asked if the aftermarket rims look the same and the sales associate said yes. I arrived at the store at 1:23 PM and spoke with another sales associate and said about the need to replace the front driver side rim, tire and a lug and lug nut. He said they could order from the dealership or aftermarket. I asked to see an image of the aftermarket rim after he said there was one in stock. I asked if the rim looks the same and he said yes, it is the same rim made by an aftermarket manufacturer. We purchased the rim, tire, lug and lug nut. Upon completion of the job, I noticed that the rim is a different color and spoke with the same associate and said to him that rim is a different color. His response was I know. I asked him about an option that was the same color and he said, that is all we have. I mentioned that the image shown was the same color and I would have like to have known the rim was a different color and he looked at me and said, I can sell you three more rims. I was incredulous as his solution to his dishonesty was to buy three more rims. He was uninterested in being helpful and was quite glib in his response. I am requesting that the other three rims be replaced to match with cost paid by Discount Tire. You must have honest employees who do not practice dishonesty by omission. They need to make sure the customer is fully informed before purchase rather than stating there is no difference in the rim, and they try to use that as leverage to buy three more rims.Business Response

I was contacted by the local Disount Tire on December 7th at 4:02 PM. The manager was very professional and was looking for a solution immediately. He mentioned that they could order the stock wheel and offered to split the difference in the cost which will be about $100 out of pocket. He mentioned that might take up to a week to order the wheel, so we are waiting for its arrive and install. The only reason that I selected the I do not accept this response is simply because the new wheel is not installed, I understand that it takes time for the stock rim to arrive. No problem with the response, just wanted to continue the dialogue through the BBB until the new rim is installed.Business Response

I brought a car into the ****** ** discount tire for a leak on a Saturday I was called same day to get the car stating it was fixed and a patch was put in for a nail that Monday the tire was low on air again and had to be driven to get air brought car back on Tuesday they called me again saying it was fixed I called to let them no Wednesday that I will be picking up the car Thursday early afternoon the person of the phone than tried making me feel like I was doing them a disservice because I could not get the car Thursday morning when it was no fault of mine the car had to be brought back up there I got a ride there Thursday and was told its all fixed this time it was the valve stem made it just out of the parking lot and low tire again I turned around and tried to talk to the person who checked me out only to be told I had to wait my turn inline again I was finally helped after ***** minutes and told them I was now stranded there and needed to get it fixed so I could return to work as I was on my lunch break this is when I was started to be talked to in a very demeaning and embarrassing way In front of a entire lobby full of customers they came back out with the after about 30/40 minutes and now told me I had a cracked rim which was not cracked when brought in the first time and also one of the employees put a lug nut in wrong and stripped out the threads in the hub assemble they dont want to take responsibility for the cracked rim and pretty much sent me out the door with a non safe vehicle and a voucher to a shop of there choice I have since spent days trying to get a call from the area vp and my calls never get returned to get a solution to this mess and make it right I have lost out on wages and a huge amount of time dealing with this to no avail.Business Response

I went to get my tire checked for a flat. The men who changed my tire to my spare broke my key that puts and removes my lug nuts. Then tried to say my lug nut key was like that before, even though I have never had a flat before to need the key to remove a tire. Then one of the sales men said it would be okay to drive with only four of my lug nuts, even though thats dangerous and not recommended. I had to say that I was not comfortable driving with just four for them to put on the last one. The sales man got an attitude and asked one of his workers if they had an extra one and they found one. Sales man said it was okay to drive with only four lug nuts, instead of all of them then handed me my key and lug nut that was not put on. The man did not offer to replace my key that they ruined, the sales man said to go to my dealership to get a new one or they could sale me one.
