I was diagnosed with cancer and looked into treatment options between proton therapy and basic radiation treatment. Proton focuses directly on the cancer causing less side effects. The basic radiation goes into the general area which can damage the healthy tissue and cause significant side effects. My BCBS refused to pay for proton, but I couldnt get a definite answer from Solidarity what, if any, they would pay. I had numerous calls and emails with Solidarity and finally the day before I was to begin the basic radiation, I spoke with a nurse at Solidarity. She said she could see all the calls and emails in the notes and apologized for no one responding. She then said Solidarity would cover the cost of the entire proton therapy. I asked for that in writing. She sent an email stating it while we were still on the phone. That was the beginning of 2021 and no bills have been paid by Solidarity. Again, I am calling and emailing to get some answers. My most recent call in August 2022, I was told because of COVID, they were very behind and were upgrading their system. I told him I was looking at losing my excellent credit rating that I had worked so hard to get and maintain. He said when my credit rating dropped to call, and they would refer me to a company that would help me restore my credit rating. I told him I didnt want to get to the point of my credit rating dropping. I completely understand the difference in my BCBS and Solidarity but when Im told by an employee of Solidarity the cost of my treatment will be covered completely and its provided in writing then I would think being a Christian organization they would live up to their word. I cant believe the *************** is allowing people in need to be lied to and defrauded by this agency that touts its Catholic values. I feel this is now a case of fraud and will be looking into legal action.

We appreciate the time youve taken to express your feedback.  Solidarity always seeks to serve its members in a faithful Christian manner in a spirit of solidarity and subsidiarity.

Please refer to the Solidarity HealthShare Sharing Guidelines to answer most questions regarding your healthshare Membership and our *********** teams are available to answer or provide clarity for you.  Without proper coding, we are unable to move forward in processing needs for our Members and this is a cause of some delays.Per member guidelines, it is the member's responsibility to ensure all required information is submitted with each bill. Often if a need is submitted to Member Portal it can be rejected if it is missing ALL items needed for processingMember Name--Submit a copy of the coded bill(s) (Dates of Service (DOS), Billed $ amount, ICD10 codes, CPT codes,Provider Tax ID # (TIN), Provider Remit to address, & provider physical address) and any needed supporting documentation (Pre-Notification (PNT # &Clinicals if needed), Proof of Payment/Receipt, etc.).   Exodus 20:16.
As a part of our ministry, we work with our members' providers to encourage billing at fair and just prices through a reference-based pricing model and solve the healthcare industry-wide problem of overbilling.  Unfortunately, too many have experienced this unjust practice in the healthcare industry.
Please continue to work with our AMPS Team for any Balance Bills as they have already been completed and shared at the Fair and Reasonable Value of Service (FRVS) and they may be continuing to attempt to overcharge your family.   AMPS Advocacy Team:  ************, AMPS FAX  ************, *******************************.
Every Member both initials and signs that they have received, read, and understand the *** Sharing Guidelines and the Member Rights & Responsibilities of their Membership.  From the cover of the Sharing Guidelines and explained on back of Member ID Card and each Explanation of Sharing (EOS) that is sent out shares, ATTENTION: This program is not an insurance company nor is it offered through an insurance company. This program does not guarantee or promise that your medical bills will be paid or assigned to others for payment. Whether anyone chooses to pay your medical bills will be totally voluntary. As such, this program should never be considered as a substitute for an insurance policy. Whether you receive any payments for medical expenses and whether or not this program continues to operate, you are always liable for any unpaid bills.
There is a learning curve when switching from traditional insurance and healthcare sharing. If you need help understanding how Solidarity works or if youd like a copy of our guidelines we are happy to walk you through either. We look forward to speaking with you soon.

Horrible, horrible experience. We have been waiting for 1.5 years to be reimbursed thousands of dollars, and have TENS of thousands in outstanding bills from two surgeries from 2021. We are being sent to collection agencies and being told Solidarity has rejected bills for services it pre-approved, and are getting calls from different providers who are wondering why they haven't been paid yet. One provider told my husband that the amount of time they've let go between his date of service and paying their office is actually ILLEGAL in the ****************. Do yourself a favor and do NOT go with this healthshare. Go with Samaritan, I have heard they are wonderful.

We appreciate the time youve taken to express your concerns and want to clarify how to make the most of your membership. It does look like all your issues are being resolvedthank you for submitting the items missing originally submitted incomplete. There is a learning curve when switching from traditional insurance and healthcare sharing. We realize how frustrating it may be when the wrong coding causes delays in processing. When a provider submits the wrong information or does not provide all the information necessary it greatly lengthens the turnaround time for needs to be shared. If you need additional help understanding how Solidarity works or if youd like a copy of our guidelines we are happy to walk you through either. Exodus 20:16. Numerous phone calls to Solidarity and nothing. I even did a three way call with Quest and Solidarity because the Quest **** was going to go to collections. Still promises and nothing.Bills mounting and not getting paid. It has been eight months on some of the bills and they are marked NEW.

We appreciate hearing from our members and want to clarify how to make the most of your membership. We do see that over 95% of your needs have been processed. A good thing to keep in mind is that delays in processing can be caused when the required information is missing. Once the information is received there is typically a 120-day turnaround from the time all required information has been submitted, not the time your bill was issued. A few tools we put together to help our members have a clear understanding and expectations is the Member ************************* and the Sharing Guidelines. Please let us know if you need direction on where to find those. We look forward to working with you as we process the remainder of your submitted needs.

We have been with Solidarity for a few years. We are still waiting on reimbursements from over a year ago. I just don't understand. Every time I speak with someone, they promise the system is getting caught up, and then here we are months later, still waiting. I'm canceling membership now. I should have done it sooner.
