I left the country on 4/11 to handle a personal matter in regards to my health, & that was the same day all city towing, towed my car from the apartment complex due to rear end parking in a free space parking complex , the signs they have up are so small and even so its not on the contract and stuff that is on the contract isnt enforced like designated parking , we dont have that at the Equinox on ************ Apartments , anyway if it wasnt for my brother i would have no idea that this issue arose had he not told me as he lives in the same complex so on 4/16/2025 i called All City Towing stating that its impossible for me to get my car for the time being as im not in ******* and they advised me different things every time & when i called trying to resolve, i even got my sister in law to take financial responsibility for the time being & they told her to pay $1275 upfront and that no payment plan can be made without the owner physically present when the recorded 3 way phone call i had with the manager days prior didnt state that , they turned her away without my property while my storage fees kept increasing . fast forward to the night I came back to ******* on the 5/22 at around 11:00 pm i get back and open official mail from the ************ of Motor Vehicles saying that i have a notice dated on the 4/23/2025 to get my vehicle from all city towing WITHIN 30 days of the notice or ACT can take possession, so i quickly plan to go the next day which luckily for me was the last day to be able to get it to retrieve MY vehicle So i go around 12 pm on 5/23/2025 and they tell me that the car is in their name now which is illegal as the *** notice clearly stated that i am in my right to get my car in a specific time frame that was met. I just need my car back to be able to work , its my very own first car that i paid for and theyre not trying to work with me while the *** investigates. So like I said if I dont get it back with no fees , im taking legal action.

On March 30th All City Towing itowed my car after it was impounded my ****************************. I returned about a week later to get my car out of impound which ended up costing me $512 and when I was taking back to my car all of my belongings were missing the only thing left was the manual for the car. Currently I have an unfortunate situation that I reside in my car and have for about a year so everything I owned was in there I have valuables clothes paperwork and all of it is missing including the seat covers floor mats. I had put a half a tank of gas in and did not even drive 500 ft before being pulled over when I got my car out and pound my gas light was on my brakes were squealing and clanking like something was loose there was a donut tire on the rear passenger side where the cleaning what's happening and they had taken my room off for some reason which is all scratched up and there's a scratch on that same fender well when I asked him where my belongings were they told me that it's got stuff ***************** had never belongings they kept them for safekeeping and then they changed the story and said that my staff got transported with me to a different jail how long I contacted **************************** the denied having my lungs and I had already picked up my purse from them so I knew there was nothing else in there All City Towing had me signed something and when I asked for a copy of what I signed the lied and said I did not sign anything. They also told me that I'm lucky I came in when I did because they were getting ready to file an abandoned title for it which my car was only in there for one week before I got it out and in the state of ******* they can only file for abandoned title after 43 days my car was in there from March 30th the evening of March 30th until April 8th that was not long enough for them to file an abandoned title. So far the only thing you've done is tell me to fill out a claim form and deny &:lie to me.

As soon as we recognized the error we made, we reached out to the Complainant on multiple occasions via phone.  She was never in a position to discuss her claim over the phone and insisted everything be done in writing, which is fine as it provides a written account of activity.

We finally received a completed claim form from the Complainant on April 28th and we reached her by phone on April 30th.  She was not prepared for our call so she advised she would call us back - we have not heard from her since.  We are currently trying to establish contact with the Complainant in order to obtain additional information and documentation supporting her loss.  We anticipate resolution of her claim as soon as contact is made and additional information/documentation is provided to support the claim.  Thank you.

I am very sorry I didn't see that you had contacted me.
The issue has not been resolved I am currently looking for an attorney but don't know what kind of lawyer I need .  I'm not sure how to go about this.
They offered me $1000 but I paid $512 to get my car out & I feel I paid $512 for them to take everything I owned. That means they want to give me $500 cause of what I paid  to get it out..
I am currently looking for lawyer.
Tonight one of their tow trucks pulled up next to my car  stopped and then took off when my friends went outside. So now they are harassing me..

I apologize for not seeing your correspondence till now.
Hope I hear back from you.
      Thank you for your time

Good afternoon.  It appears we are at an impasse on this complaint/claim.  We have reached out the Complainant twice since our last response (both times on 5/7) and we received no reply.  We called her once and her voice mail was full.  We then sent an e-mail.  We have heard nothing since.

Ms. ******* doesn't appear to want to resolve the claim.  Each time we try to discuss the outstanding issues, she ends the conversation and indicates she will reach out later but she never does.  We have advised her multiple times we are willing to reevaluate with additional supports from her; however, it doesnt seem like she has an interest in engaging with us on this matter.  We made a settlement offer, based on the available information and she apparently rejected it (based on her latest to the BBB).  Her response is always that she will call us back but this never occurs.  If she is consulting with an attorney, perhaps that would be best route to open discussions.

Again, we are at an impasse.  If the Complainant is seeking counsel, perhaps this is causing the delay.  Regardless, we have done all we can do based on the available information.

Storage fee is in violation of ARS ******* and ARS *******. The company and city claim this only apply to vehicle under ************************************************************* exception for vehicles that are towed under these sections.

      Business Response

This will follow our receipt and review of the complaint dated April 21, 2025 and received via e-mail the same day.

This complaint would have merit IF AND ONLY IF the vehicle in question were towed under A.R.S. ******* or 3512; however, it was not.  The vehicle was towed under A.R.S. ****** - a completely separate statute - which by contract has a different daily storage rate.  The tow sheet issued by Mesa PD clearly specifies this was not a 20-Day hold tow, under A.R.S. ******* or 3512.  This same tow sheet was provided to the driver of the vehicle at the time of the police intervention.  The Complainant surely has a copy.  *********** and the City of Mesa have already explained the difference in the two types of tows, as was outlined in the complaint.  The daily storage rate was appropriately charged, per contract.

Thank you for allowing us to provide the necessary factual context.

The car was told by ********************** and they charged $736 to pick it up in tow it stating it took two hours to tow itfrom ********* to the tow yard. I called them to pick up the truck and they told me that I could go down there and that would $773 and then I would have to have the registration and my identification And they sent me down 45 minutes from my house to go pick it up upon arriving there. They informed me that that we werent able to pick it up on the weekend because it was a heavy duty truck andthey dont have anybody that can take it out even though they told me that they did before I went down there I work on Mondays and they very rudely said that if I want to pick up keys for work from the truck that I wouldnt be able to do that unless I wait two hours and pay $30 the fact that they can have me drive that far down and not be able to pick it up and have no financial responsibility in my direction for what they did is beyond me the towing is excessive way excessive theres no way it takes two hours to get a vehicle there I believe this was an excessive charge and a missed direction of sending me down there 45 minutes away when I couldnt even pick it up completely uncalled for my time is money as well so they should reimburse me for my time Id like them to reimburse me one hour of the cost of towing which is $375 and $125 for my time to drive down there and back so Id like an adjustment on the bill and I also wanna make sure that they do not charge us the extra $70 for the daily rate because we were there to pick it up before the rate incurred. So a billing adjustment to where we would owe them $273 to pick up the vehicle.

My personal vehicle was towed away from my apartment building early Saturday morning on March 1st. When I contacted the towing company they gave me an estimated two to three hour waiting time for a driver to unlock the gate and for me to pay a fee to have my car returned to me. They wanted me to wait at the location and have my phone ready in case they needed to call me. After three hours had passed I contacted the company again and then I was told that it would be another two to four hours wait with an additional charge. They wanted me to wait at the tow yard and explicitly stated that they will not be calling me or I just needed to stay awake and alert for sight of the truck or they charge me for another day. I requested to speak to a supervisor or manager and the operator hung up on me.

On 12/29/24 10:52am I called All City Towing to get instructions to retrieve my car. The agent told me to go to ********************************* and that if I arrived before 12pm, I would not have a $75 "after hours" fee. She simply said to go to the yard & bring $333.33. She did not tell me to bring anything else. She did not tell me I would need to wait at the yard...just told me to get there by noon. I did as instructed, racing to arrive in ******** arrived at 11:42am. No one was at the tow yard. I called and was THEN told that it was "after hours" currently & that I would have to wait 1 1/2-2 hours (as late as 1:45pm) to get my car. There was nowhere to wait other than a rock to sit on outside. I waited, and while waiting, ended up calling All City a few more times when no one showed with my car. Long story short, I did not get my car until 2:45pm...THREE HOURS LATER. I missed hours of work. My husband had to drive back & miss a work meeting himself to help me. Had All City Towing been forthright & told me up front that I would have to miss hours of work & wait untold hours, I could have made an alternate, informed decision, but they denied me that option, failing to disclose that no one would actually be on site to meet me. As a result, I was not at work for an emergency gas leak/shutdown. My husband missed a meeting. I want a refund...remuneration for my time, my husband's time, my missed work, my husband's missed work & the hassle of being stuck, sitting outside on a rock waiting for a car I was told I could retrieve before noon. I have all recorded phone calls; I can email them to the BBB to hear the instructions that All City provided to me instructing me to arrive by noon. I can forward *************************** to ********** too if necessary since they contract w/ All City. Please DO NOT FURTHER WASTE TIME, ALL CITY, BY REPLYING TO ME VIA MAIL. PLEASE RESPOND TRANSPARENTLY THROUGH THE BBB ELECTRONICALLY. I do not want a secret, snail-mailed response.

Inquiry Regarding Damage to My Vehicle During Towing I am reaching out regarding my vehicle, [2000 CHEVROLET 1500 ,*****************], which was towed by your company on December 4th, 2024 from N ******************************************* to G-LOT **********************************. After retrieving the vehicle on December 6th, 2024, I observed significant damage to the truck bed that was not present prior to towing. The damage appears to have been caused by the way the truck was secured during transport. Specifically, I have a photo showing the truck on the tow truck, where the straps can be seen pulling on the bed in a way that caused the damage. I also witnessed this incident occurring firsthand during the towing process. I would like to point out that this damage could not have occurred during the accident itself, as the collision involved front-end damage only. This vehicle was driving straight when another vehicle turned left, resulting in front-end impact. There is no scenario where the damage to the rear truck bed could have been caused by the accident.I have attached the following for your reference: 1. A photo of the truck on the tow truck, showing the straps causing damage to the bed. 2. Photos of the damage to the bed after the tow. Given this evidence, I believe the damage to the vehicle occurred while in your companys care and as a result of improper handling. I kindly request that your company take full responsibility for the damage by providing appropriate compensation and a full refund for all charges. Please let me know how you would like to proceed. I would appreciate a response by December 24th, 2024. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to resolving this issue amicably. Best regards, **** **** **********************

Follow-Up Regarding Damage to My Vehicle During Towing I am following up on my original complaint regarding my vehicle, [2000 CHEVROLET 1500, VIN: *****************], which was towed by All City Towing on December 4th, 2024, from **************; **************************************************************** to G-LOT at **********************************. To recap, I retrieved the vehicle on December 6th, 2024, and immediately observed significant damage to the truck bed that was not present prior to towing. This damage appears to have resulted from the way the vehicle was secured during transport, as evidenced by a photo showing the truck on the tow truck with straps pulling on the bed in a manner that caused the damage. I also witnessed this incident firsthand during the towing process. This damage is unrelated to the original accident, which involved front-end impact only. There is no plausible scenario where the damage to the rear truck bed could have been caused by the collision. I included evidence with my initial complaint, such as: *A photo of the truck on the tow truck showing the straps causing damage. *Photos of the damage to the truck bed after the tow. Despite submitting this evidence and requesting an appropriate resolution, All City Towing has claimed to have responded via mail on December 23th, 2024. However, I have not received any correspondence. Please note that I moved on January 1st, 2025, and my updated address is available upon request (also attached to this complaint). Given the lack of response, I am resubmitting my complaint and requesting a resolution. I kindly ask that All City Towing take full responsibility for the damage by providing: *Compensation for the damage to my truck bed. *A full refund for all towing charges. I look forward to your timely response. If you need additional information or documentation, feel free to contact me via email at ********************** or by phone. Please respond by January 21st, 2025. Thank you

We have nothing else to add following our written response on 12/23.  The damage pre-existed our involvement and our letter and attachment supports same.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 01/15/2025

Dear BBB and All City Towing,

I am writing to follow up on All City Towings response to my original complaint regarding damage to my vehicle, [2000 CHEVROLET 1500, VIN: *****************], during towing on December 4th, 2024.

All City Towing has claimed that the damage to my truck bed was pre-existing and referenced a written response and attachments allegedly sent to me on December 23rd, 2024. However, I have not received any such correspondence, evidence, or documentation to support this claim. I kindly request that All City Towing provide a copy of this response and the supporting attachments for my review.

To reiterate, the damage to the truck bed did not pre-exist the tow. The vehicle was involved in a front-end collision, and no damage to the truck bed was present at the time of pickup. This fact is supported by:

      1. My firsthand observation: I personally witnessed the towing process and observed improper securing of the vehicle with straps that visibly caused damage to the bed.

      2. Photographic evidence: I have photos showing the truck bed before towing (undamaged) and during towing, where the straps were improperly positioned, as well as photos of the damage that occurred as a result.

Given these facts, All City Towings statement that the damage was pre-existing is inaccurate. Furthermore, their failure to provide the alleged response or evidence undermines their claim. I request that All City Towing:

       1. Provide a copy of the written response and attachments from December 23rd.

       2. Take full responsibility for the damage caused during the towing process and offer compensation for the cost of repairs as well as a full refund for all towing fees.

If the company fails to comply or address this matter satisfactorily, I will explore additional options, including pursuing legal action in small claims court.
Thank you, BBB, for your continued assistance in this matter.

      Sincerely,
      **** ****

In the early morning hours of April 7, 2024, my 2022 ****** Camry was towed by All City Towing from ********************* in *****, **. Upon discovering that my vehicle was towed to the ************************************ lot, I attempted to recover my vehicle from All City Towing. After arriving at the All City Towing yard at 10:51 AM on April 7, 2024, I placed a call to All City Towing's dispatch to arrange for my vehicle to be released after hours. At 11:20AM, I called the ***** Police Department's non-emergency line to seek clarification on ***** code. After the officer on the phone spoke with a supervisor, they concluded that All City Towing was violating the law by refusing to release my vehicle because my first name did not match the vehicle registration's first name. The officer informed me that she will call All City Towing and inform them that they were illegally holding my vehicle in their lot.At approximately 12:40PM, 2 officers arrived on scene to assist at All City Towing's ***** yard. Since there was no employee of All City Towing present at the yard when the officers arrived, there wasn't much to enforce. After talking with the officers, they informed me that they weren't entirely sure of the code and said that I would have to follow All City Towing's policy, a direct reversal from what the supervisor on the non-emergency line said to me over the phone. I respected that the officers told me to pursue the complaint civilly and advised me to pay All City Towing the yard fee.At Approximately 1:45PM, an employee from All City Towing arrived at the yard to release my vehicle. During my time waiting out in the sun in front of All City Towing, an employee went in and out of the yard twice, but refused to help me release my vehicle. When an employee that could assist me finally arrived at the yard, I paid the $140 drop fee and had my vehicle released from All City Towing.

We are unsure why we are being asked to again respond to a complaint that was received on 4/8.  Our response was sent today, via US Mail.

In the response sent today, we clearly indicate a refund of $140.00 would be processed.  Our accounting office processed the refund this morning.  If it has not yet appeared in the customer's account, it will shortly.

The original complaint was received on Monday, 4/8.  The BBB requested a response within 7 calendar days.  Our response was sent 3 days later (4/11), indicating a refund will be processed.  The BBB's deadline for response was met 4 days early.  What more is needed from us?

On Monday March 25 my significant other and i went to go pick up his car from all city towing. We live in *******/ Mesa and the car was in *******, they advertise they are 24/7 so we went at 1:30 am to get the car so we park and call and they tell us 1 hour- 1.5 hours for a driver to get the car. We ask for the amount itll be and they say i believe it was $160 or $165 to get the car so the driver finally shows up 1 hour later and takes my card and id and hold onto it for about an hour while we were dealing with them. They would not let us see the car before we paid so we pay and they drag the car out of the tow yard. The car was in park with 2 popped tires and another tire was bent so they dragged the car all through the tow yard and onto the road which destroyed the hubcaps. But when they charged me they said it was $248.84 and when i said that was not the price i was given he called dispatch they said oh they forgot to tell you there was an after hours fee. And then we asked if they could tow it home and they said yes and told us to take a picture of the number on the side of the truck they said we had 4 hours to remove the car from the property before it would be impounded again. So we called to set up a tow home and the operator said oh we cant do that the managers can talk to you when they come in in 8 hours because thats a relocation and i said why did he tell us you guys could take the car home if we have 4 hours and they wont be able to help for 8 hours and the operator said oh well the driver is new so he didnt know. Also this morning i started getting fraudulent charges on my credit card and the last person who had it was the driver of the tow truck he had it in his car for about an hour i always use apple pay with that card so it encrypts my card number. when my significant other called the company today to ask to speak to one of the managers, they told us that we had to drive all the way to ******* to talk to one of the managers.

Towed my car without warning from the curtilage of my home while I was inside preparing my daughters for departure, right out from under my feet, on a Saturday morning, and did it timelessly perfect so that they would be closed soon after, incurring more charges for after hour service. Also would not release the vehicle to me without payment, which is illegal, and only cooperated when ******* showed up, and punished me by making me wait 3 additional hours until a manager could come by and "authorize" the release of my property.
