  I had a severe toothache and needed a dentist to go to. Didn't like this one very much. The staff were OK but the doctor I saw kept pressuring me to get a root canal instead of a tooth extraction. I opted for extraction because it was the cheaper and quicker option, but they kept trying to get me to do a root canal. He said that having a tooth extracted could be more expensive down the line in case I wanted to get it replaced. Not something I'm worried about. I asked to keep the pulled tooth and was ignored entirely. I was billed after insurance for a total of about $700. Turns out my insurance paid extra on one of the items, and I only owed a total of about $590. I called the dentist to ask about this and was told that the payment was still processing (untied healthcare insurance) two to three weeks after the actual tooth was pulled. I heard nothing back about the payment despite calling more than once until about a month later when I had to physically go into the establishment and tell the receptionist that I was being billed for the wrong amount. She was very kind about it, but it took me physically going into the place and telling someone (not asking about it) before the payment got fixed. I know for a fact that if I had not said something, nothing would have been done and they would have happily taken that extra money. Do not go here. They also have a """prize wheel""" in their office. In order to spin it you have to give them a good review on ******.

  Called this location as my wife was seen and didnt receive an estimate. Upon calling 3/30/23 @ 4:47 pm I spoke to a woman who said the estimate was emailed. I told her nothing was received. I said I will be in to pick it up today. She advised they close at 5. Great, I replied. I live at the golf course. Youre 3 minutes from me. After picking up the estimate from a receptionist whose name I didnt catch but had arms tattoos, I noticed the estimate, $3300, doesnt show our insurance. I called back. 4:58 pm. She told me on the line that our insurance Cigna Dental is a discount plan not dental insurance. I called Cigna because this wasnt what my employer had explained. Called back a third time, at 5:17 pm and their after hours service answered. April 5th, my wife comes in to discuss the insurance. By this time weve talked to our insurance, been advised no one form Cortaro smiles has filed a claim for approval. Cortaro smiles is in our network and the insurance would pay for a large portion of the bill. The office manager didnt have any idea what was going on with the account. We did all the work, spoke to Cigna with all the procedure codes listed on the quote. Our bill became $605. This receptionist scammer attempted to pocket $2700 telling us that we didnt have coverage. Scheduled us the appointment and was going to run our credit card for the total. If we were both well versed in insurance, she would have succeeded. It makes me concerned they done this in the past to other patients.
