I called the business and asked for an tentative estimate to disinfect 5 bath tubs after a septic backup. The intake person thought $500 and even put me on hold to confirm. When the crew arrived I again inquired about price. The crew leader said price based upon square foot and will be calculated at the office. Shame on me for letting them do the work without a firm price. The cost came back at $2400 for less than 1.5 hours of work. I immediately emailed my objection. Their response was it was a fair price and they are going to put a lien on my house if I don't pay. My complaint is about the lack of transparency about price and the following intimidation if I don't pay. I still am trying to come to resolution with them but am skeptical at this point. Your assistance will be appreciated.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 18514802, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

I am filing this report against serv pro
    5151 E Broadway Blvd #1600, Tucson, AZ 85711
    520-760-9352.
We had a flood in the kitchen the end of June 2022 they came to dry it out and ripped up the floor. Serv pro was in and out for the next week and a half after everything was dry. They sprayed a chemical antimicrobial on the floor a product called vanquish. They said this is very safe his exact words where ( it's so safe you can drink it). I asked multiple times is it ok for my dog to go in the kitchen or should I gate her out. They said wait 15 minutes. I waited until the next day. I was feeding our 8 pound Yorkie. She dropped a piece of food on the floor and licked it up. She became very sick after that. I rushed her to the ER vet she died in my car. I called serv pro to get the name of the chemical it was vanquish. I called pet poison control. They said it was toxic even when dry. I called Serv pro back with that information. Then I downloaded the safety data sheet of vanquish. I will attach it. All they had to say was it's an unfortunate coincidence. Please look into this. Our dog is dead. And in my opinion she was poisoned by this stuff. This stuff isn't safe according to the data safety sheet. Serv pro doesn't care at all . The woman I spoke with from serv pro. Her name is Leslie siegler.
    Thank you
    Jill Gorski.

    Business Response

We are very sorry for the loss of your pet.  The product we used is an epa registered sanitizer, Total Solutions Vanquish. We have used this product for many years and have had no adverse reactions.  We use this product in hospitals as well as in residences.  Our Franchisor, Servpro Industries, authorizes use of this product and is a distributor of it throughout the country.  I dispute the cause of loss was this product.  We need instruct the homeowner to evacuate from the area until the area was dry.  We followed the manufactures recommendations for dilution of the Vanquish for its proper application and use.  I believe that you should send your complaint to the manufacturer as they can discuss the safety of this product.    See Below Attached response from Servpro Chemist

    Hello
    Leslie,

    I
hope you are doing well today. This is very unusual. If diluted properly at 2oz
per gallon there is only ~1.6% of the active product (2oz/128oz= 1.56%) and the
rest is water as it doesn’t take much to kill the microbes. It is also EPA
Registered for use in veterinarian offices, kennels, etc. so it is being used
around animals every day. I have been here supporting our cleaning product line
since 2002 and have never had any incidents such as this which leads me to ask
could this just have been an unfortunate coincidence? Please let me know if you
have any questions or need anything else.

    Take
    Care,
