Two telephone numbers have been registered on ther National DNC Registry for years, two others for nearly two decades, yet the calls keep coming. I'm also on the **** Blacklist, folks who have succesfully sued telemarketers dozens of times. Received a second unlawful call today where the caller falsely said I had made an inquiry. "Scam Likely" and ************, ** showed on caller ID. The caller did not provide the full biz name, Nationwide Tax Advocates. One has to seriously question how law-abiding this tax business is!Business Response

I actually did some research on tax resolutions and called a few places to seek help with my irs debt. Upon speaking to several indiviuals about tax resolutions, I decided to work with Nationwide Tax Advocates. ***** who I presume is the owner gave me his word and complete trust that he could help me resolve my tax issues. He stated how there is always a solution and how he had similar instances as myself where others received a low settlement to resolve their tax issues. We started off with a tax investigation which cost me $450. I immediately sent the funds and they investigated my previous tax years. Upon completion ***** mentioned that we can move forward with the resolution and he had a good feeling this would be a open and shut case. I was asked to send another $4500 to get this done. I advised ************ did not have this amount and could we work out a payment plan or something to get this resolved because I was excited to hear they could fix my tax issues. So they came up with a plan to start on my case as soon as I paid atleast a additional $2000 in fees just to make sure the cover their attorney fees. I made 2 payments in the same month for $1000 each to get them started. They did not start or touch my case until this was completed. After payments were made I was advised due to COVID the *** was backed up so be patient in response times. I waited months and each time I got the same response we are waiting on the *** to give us a response about the case. Although I was waiting on a response from *** this company demanded I make payments in full or otherwise they couldnt continue further to get my case resolved because the tax attorney needed to get paid to continue. SO I paid in full and total $5500 to them to make sure this was resolved. It has been 1.5 years and no calls. I am getting Levy letters from *** now. This company is a SCAM !! DO NOT PAY $1. ***********************, *****************, ***************. My *** situation is worse now than before. I have all emails save.Business Response

We have discussed this issue with the client just now and there was a misunderstanding on the case. The client understands that we are not a SCAM, and our legal team were aiming for a different program for both him and his wife due to the financial struggle and hardship they were facing. That is no longer taking place, so we will be doing a partial payment fresh start program and completing his case. He has a higher balance due to 2021 tax year as well, we will also be including that to the resolution as no additional cost.Initial Complaint

Was contacted by the ****. Senior Executive Officer about my owning more than ****** in taxes ,penalties & into. On my state taxes was told more than once they can help me reduce or have then forgiven plus file my taxes for 2018,2019 (amend this year),2020,2021,2022. I was totally mislead as to what services even after signing the doc I was rushed to sign and return (I told him I just had a major surgery three days ago) and told of my being taken advantage of by a tax resolution bus and the irs in the past also made it clear I couldn't afford the $450 I just got a credit card the day before with $300 credit in which he talked me into making a $225 on it and $225 in a month which I did mind you believing all my tax issues were going to be resolved and reassured more than once they will take care of me. Never was there anyother mention of another fee for any of the services we talked about. Since I got a call from another man telling me they completed my investigation and it will cost another $4200 to now go to court .I said I will speak to the man I had been talking to up to this point bottom line he won't answer my e-mails or phone calls I want a refund of my $450 also I got a doctor from the franchise asking me to authorize giving then authorization of my taxes which I recieved the day I talk to the man who was telling me the investigation was completed. How did he get the information needed if I hadn't given the authorization to franchise tax yet also never got a copy of what services they performed. But was called by the second man that a couldn't get a refund because the investigation was completed. I just want my money back they have made my tax situation worse due to missing a deadline on my 2018 tax returned I called them about as weather to go ahead and file it I was told no they will take care of filing all by years to get me up to current year. So I'm worse off and this has caused me to think about ending my life. I trusted what I was told and this man new my situation and made me feel like finally my taxes were going to be removed I totally was taken advantage of and have since had another surgery so not having a full pay check due to being on ********* comp I am paying a credit card I just got to help me build my credit for services I didn't get how can you do business like that and feel good about yourself where are these people's morals on what is right and wrong I live alone have no friends or family to help me isntmy life hard enough without being manipulated and lied to and misleadBusiness Response

****************, when we went over the State Tax Investigation we told you exactly how much you owed, the years covered, and what programs you qualified for to be able to get your debt reduced/resolved. You were upset due to thinking it would cost you only $450 for both the investigation and resolution from beginning to end. You obviously know that no Law Firm will charge $450 to resolve a $20,000 liability. It just seemed as if you were looking for someone to take a look into your case and give you an update and for you to find an excuse to get your money back for the $450. If you decide to change your mind even after we have suspended your case, give our compliance team or case manager a call.Initial Complaint

Hi ***************, I am sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with the results. As mentioned yesterday, we were completing your offer in compromise with the **** but you mentioned that your attorney just decided to put your tax debt in bankruptcy which even you were not aware of, and now that is why you are demanding your refund. I am more than happy to complete your resolution, if you decided to not want to proceed with the bankruptcy.
