Marsha Fuerst School of Nursing under *****************, specifically regarding the Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program. This program is marketed as a luxury, accelerated educational experience, with a significantly higher cost compared to other programs nationwide. It promotes a promise of success through robust resources and strict adherence to policies and procedures designed to ensure academic achievement. Experience with this institution has revealed severe shortcomings that fail to meet these promises, concerns about the schools adherence to accreditation causing financial and emotional distress to students. Key Issues with the Institution and Program: 1. Lack of ******************* The program advertises a wealth of resources to assist students in succeeding, yet many of these resources have either not been implemented recently or do not exist at the ********* location. This directly contradicts the institution's claims and undermines its ability to support students effectively. 2. Unfair and Inadequate Policies: The program enforces a strict retake policy, allowing students to retake only one course during the two-year span of the program. Failing another course results in dismissal from the program, leaving students with significant financial obligations. This policy is harsh, especially considering the lack of support provided, and disproportionately impacts students who struggle due to institutional shortcomings rather than personal performance. 6 months ago I submitted a formal grievance regarding numerous issues including: The syllabus being outdated and not followed as outlined. Lack of access to the course's online textbook and study materials. Incorrect and inconsistent listing of due assignments on Moodle. Delayed and inconsistent grading practices. Missed scheduled meetings with the instructor and last-minute cancellations of tutoring sessions without proper communication. Submitted assignments not being accounted for in final grades.

During orientation we were given this packet that states the lectures and labs are separate courses and if one is failed you do not have to retake both, just the class that was not passed. After finishing the semester we were told we have to retake both the lecture and lab regardless of if one of passed because they go together, this school is going against what this packet is saying and is forcing students to not only retake the class that was passed, but also forcing to pay for the class again. The school is charging additional tuition for the classes that was passed and already paid for. I feel the school is purposely failing students to collect more tuition and fees for students to retake courses. Out of 83 students only 20 passed the semester forcing students to retake courses and pay more.

    Response to ID# ********

The student failed her Human Physiology Theory class (PHY 202) and was given the opportunity to retake this course and the corequisite Human Physiology Lab course (PHY202L).

The College uses corequisite to align with the ***** of ********** Nursing guidelines requiring separate lab and science courses.  This protects the college from students transferring in one class and not taking the other.  This classification of the above two courses as corequisite is listed in our College Catalog, pg.70 (see attached excerpt).

The definition of corequisite is: A formal course of study required to be taken simultaneously with another (*****************************) Corequisite Definition & Meaning - *****************************
The student acknowledged receipt of the College Catalog on12/15/23 (see attached signed and dated ELECTRONIC COLLEGE CATALOG & PROGRAM HANDBOOK RECEIPT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT)

The student was given a document that contained no college logos. This document was not approved by Campus Support or by Executive **** of Nursing for the Masha Fuerst School of Nursing.

On 4/26/24 the student was given the opportunity to return and retake her courses in accordance with our College Catalog, and chose to withdraw from the program
