    Signed an agreement to get the driveway resurfaced and sealcoat in Pasadena $11,600 total.
    On the day of the resurfacing job (April 19, 2023), when the crew had already ground some area of the old asphalt, L******e St****y (owner) told me he made a mistake and price suddenly went up to $15,000.
    That’s a breach of contract, so I negotiated with him and ended up agreeing to pay $12,500 including the sealcoat.
    L******e promised me that he wouldn’t alter the shape of the old asphalt for the rain water flow (the driveway had been designed in such a way that rain water would flow freely down to the street). They left a mess on the concrete by the house and the street sidewalk concrete. I told them to scrape and clean up the mess, they said they would, but they left without scraping and cleaning up the mess.
    I tested the surface the next day by pouring water into the new surface, and the water did not flow to the street, instead, it flowed back to the garage. They altered the original surface shape.
    The new asphalt is very uneven with blotches and patches everywhere, some parts are smooth, some parts are rough. L******e said that after the sealcoating, everything would be smooth with even color. I asked L******e to fix it, and he said he would fix it on the same day he would apply the sealcoat.
    Two weeks later it was raining in Pasadena.
    They came and fixed some of it. But some areas were still problematic, the water still flowed back to the garage, and they still didn’t scrape the mess on the concrete. L******e said they didn’t bring scrapper and would do it on sealcoat day.
    25 days have passed since the original resurfacing job, so I tried to make an appointment for him to fix the problematic areas, clean up and scrape the mess and do the sealcoat (basically finish the job as promised). He claimed that day would be a chance of rain and told me he would let me know 2 days prior. He disappeared after that. I tried contacting him several times. No respond.

    The customer contacted us before we received this complaint and we arranged to do the necessary repairs.  The repairs were completed on Friday, May 19, 2023 to the customer's satisfaction.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 20*****9, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

    L******e St****y finally responded after I had submitted the complaint to BBB.  They came and completed the project.
