      On or around April 8th we had a house fire incident that involved insurance claims.We contracted with Simply Contents to handle our belongings. We spoke to them about how technically if we were attached to all of our belongings they would try their best to clean it all and return it to us. We were not attached to big furniture items, couches, beds, etc.They had our items for about four months and during that time we asked for things back such as our electric car charger. I tried calling ***** over and over and she kept saying shed get in touch, she never did. Eventually she told me they disposed of it. Then magically ****** was able to find it. Half our electronics got disposed of, while the other half we got back. Didnt make much sense to me why that would be. We were told they would not dispose of ANYTHING until we got a chance to go to the warehouse and look to make sure we didnt overlook anything we might desperately want to keep before it gets disposed of. This never happened, they never even tried. When we asked for our stuff back they said well when do you want it back? They had been holding on to it for extra months, racking up storage fees to charge our insurance without communicating with us.

      In regards to your car charger; Yes, ***** was unable to locate the car charger. From there, her manager ****** was brought in to attempt to locate the charger. You expressed your concerns and we wanted to assure you that we would find it or replace the charger in its full value. You mentioned it was ~$1500 and we promised to replace it or find it. ****** was able to find it after searching each and every box we had in storage. We apologize for any communication that *** have been lacking between ***** and yourself. We are glad ****** was able to locate the charger in question.

      In regards to disposing some of your items, we do not throw anything away without getting approval from the homeowner. I checked our file and there is a disposal authorization signed by you on April 18th, 2022.

      In regards to packing your stuff back, we were initially hesitant to bring them back as we had not been paid by your insurance for any of our work we had performed. However, we ignored our typical protocols and scheduled your pack back without having received any money for the work we had performed. Again, this is not our typical process but we were trying to be accommodating due to the prior issue with the car charger.

      Your items are held in storage for the duration of the project. Your insurance was aware that contents were still in storage as we hadnt preformed the pack back. Once we did put the contents back in your home, the billing for the storage stopped and the insurance did not pay any extra months of storage. According to our invoice, storage was billed to 7/20/22. Your pack back was 08/03/22.

      The reason I am rejecting this businesses response is because we got the Packout done on April 18th. Why would you authorize our belongings to be thrown away the day we got them packed out to be cleaned?

      I have no recollection of signing any form that authorizes throwing the belongings of my entire home the day they were supposed to be protected by this business. And if I did, then why did we get anything back?

       

      like stated previously, things that were supposed to be total loss we got back, such as our dining room table top which was scorched by fire. This points to the obvious, which is they are mismanaged and mismanaged my home.
