Upon multiple communications between Semper Solaris and my family, they have failed to:-Send hard copies of all requested paperwork via **** after we informed them of a compromised email.-Issue with battery system that they scheduled to repair three times and were no shows each time.-Failure to communicate with the process of the installation.-System monitoring is in accessible. not user friendly.-The installation crew was advised multiple times to not disturb landscaping ( Throwing rocks)-We still cannot obtain any hard copies of our $24,000 job over one year ago - **************** has called multiple to inform me that my hard copies should have been delivered. No forms.- I think that they should stop using the "Veteran owned" moniker. I have served as a firefighter since ****. I feel the use of veteran owned is unfair to our military.-Just make it right......Business Response

This customer's issue is with his battery monitoring which is malfunctioning. Unfortunately it must be serviced by the manufacturer, Enphase. ******* from our ******* office confirmed that Enphase was scheduled to go out on at least 6/5 and on 7/6, and both were no shows. ******* is currently coordinating with a different Enphase tech to schedule him out and escalate the issue.
Obviously missed appointments are extremely frustrating. We don't have as much control over the manufacturer as we would prefer. We will do our best to bring this to a close as quickly as possible. We do not appreciate the insults.

After waiting for Tesla Powerwall Batteries from Treeium Solar for more than a year (and receiving no updates as to when their installation might actually be scheduled), I engaged Semper Solaris, in February of 2022, with the understanding that their system would be installed and running by October at the latest. I have verification of this. The physical batteries were installed in early December, triggering 3/4 of the payment and I waited until May for them to pass inspection because they failed to follow up quickly and even failed an inspection (they have just one job here). After passing inspection triggering the final payment, I have been waiting for more than a month for permission to operate and I just finished a telephone conversation with SCE who told me the application is dated initially March 3, 2023 and updated April 6, 2023. It is still in line to be reviewed. Im incredulous that they have not streamlined this final step until I recall that theyve collected their payment and have zero incentive to advance the process. All Semper Solaris has done is provide me with a weekly grievance counselor who adds nothing but frustration to this process. I cant think of many businesses that would be able to remain in business with this type of service. The batteries only have a ten-year life and one year will have expired by the time they are operating. How shall I be compensated for this?Business Response

We are not able to speed up the review process of the utility for permission operate on solar or batteries. Quite frankly it's not something that the utilities are very interested in being proficient at nor do they staff the effort properly. Currently we've been seeing major delays in granting permission to operate. As it has been a few weeks I expect that permission operate will be granted very soon. The homeowner will be notified by the utility simultaneous to us. In ***************** have proven to be a rather difficult project with challenges from homeowners, permitting, inspectors and frequent rule changes as well as supplied constraints. This may have been why this homeowner had so many challenges with their previous contractor for the same project. This project is almost complete and we are simply waiting for the utility and I believe the homeowner will be happy with the final product and performance.

220 V Dryer circuit installed on a 20 amp circuit breaker. The circuit should have been installed on a 30 amp circuit. The Electric Dryer is blowing the circuit. I have tried since May 23, 2023 (Tues) to have Semper Solaris repair there installation ERROR. The only response is that they put in a work order.Business Response

I had Semper install solar when we moved in about 4.5 yrs ago. Last rainy season - winter 2022, we noticed our dining room roof leaking. I reached out via phone and web inquiry trying to have someone take a look at the room as it if the panels caused the leak it would be under warranty. I must have reached out 20 times and gotten no response. Only when I posted a neg review on Yelp did someone call me. That was at least 2 months ago. I still have no proposal to do the repair. Someone came out to take a look at roof about 2 months ago from Semper, but no repairs are done and no date is set. I cannot use another company as that would void my warranty (moving panels). we are now at 6 months of this - very frustrating.Business Response

This Is the third leak this homeowner has reported to us. None of them are related to the solar installation. They are related to hidden workmanship defects performed by the original roofer . This homeowner does have a quote for the repairs necessary for her roof but has not yet accepted the quote. It is not accurate to say that if she has the work done by someone else it will void her solar warranty. If she wishes to hire another contractor that would be just fine. As long as the racking panels and inverters are removed and reinstalled according to manufacturer recommendations, then the manufacturer warranty will be intact. Obviously the contractor she hires would be responsible for their own workmanship.
To reiterate, We have absolutely given her a price for the repair. The reason she does not have a date for the repairs that she has not agreed to the price. Once she does we will schedule the work. If she wants to go with another contractor that is 100% okay with us

When solar panels were installed 4 yrs ago we had semper repair a roof leak that was found when we moved into the home. Semper was never blamed for that leak and I hired them to do the repair so all of our roof warranty would be with one company.
I reported a second leak to them - again never blaming semper for the leak as it is on the opposite side of the house as our solar panels - and requested a quote to repair so all of roof would be touched by only one company. It took months to get any response or quote.
The third leak is under the installed solar panels and was reported (I attempted to report but struggled to connect with anyone) Dec 2022/Jan 2023. Months later, and many attempts to reach someone, a repair man from semper came out and declared that the damage was not due to the solar install. Might I note that semper was supposed to deem the roof in good condition BEFORE installing the solar panels. They did not. So now I have to pay them to remove and reinstall the panels to get the roof leak addressed.
I have had the "proposal" sent to me about 15 times. It has had incorrect dates on it (from years ago) and incorrect project details. Semper does not want to put the date of completion of the project - even if one month from now. They want me to put a down payment and risk the repair not getting completed for another 6 months. I have convinced semper to put a random future completion date on the proposal and I am waiting to receive that so I can sign it.

As stated the customer has a quote for the repair of the leak not caused by our company. If they wish to move forward with the repair they can let us know or if they prefer to deal with another contractor that's perfectly acceptable. Obviously we are under no obligation whatsoever to perform these repairs but are trying to help homeowner.
As stated in the previous response the original roofer deviated greatly from trade standards when installing this roof resulting in these leaks. These defects are not readily apparent without dismantling the roof.
We actually provided a quote which the homeowner objected to and lowered it quite a bit to the point where we're probably not even covering our costs.
If The homeowner insists that they are still not satisfied with our response and they will need to find another contractor

After cancelling a project with Semper Solaris due to finances not being available, which was explicitly stated as a reason for potential cancellation, ****** Solaris is threatening to put a lien on my house, despite them not having done any work. No work has been started, and I stated I'd like to cancel the project.They have been calling me consistently with unfound threats. Until now we've had no official notification that this customer was interested in canceling. Neither customer service or our project management team has communicated with this homeowner in more than 60 days. There is no issue with a customer wishing to cancel as he is waiting for approval for public subsidy for his batteries. I am however very curious who the homeowner was speaking to at our company and so we will be contacting him to investigate who may have communicated with him.

I bought a house recently and have tried several times to contact Sempre Solaris to set up an appointment and explain this solar system to me and my family. This has been impossible and today the company said they do not explain the system to anyone and would not send out a technician for this type of work. There is no communication that is effective with this company. This company is absolutely the worst company I have ever had to deal with. They said they do not do that and if I desired someone to come out I would have to pay $150.00. The previous owners of the property were ****** and *******************. This business knew my name. They had a record of it. Also, I received a call last Friday from this business to have a technician come to the house. They set the the time for Saturday, the following day from 9:00-11:00 a.m. I arrived at the house at 8:30. At 11:20 a.m. the technician still had not arrived and no communication was received. I called the business. They said after transferring me many times that they would call me back. After waiting one hour I called them back again and was transferred around once more. They finally responded to me and said they made the appointment but did not tell the technician, thus the reason he failed to show up. I told them I spent an entire Saturday waiting for them and I would not pay for the technician to come out for the visit once they had rescheduled it due to the business failing to coordinate properly with their employees. This did not surprise me at all. To date no visit has been scheduled. The manager is supposed to be calling me by Wednesday. Again, I have never dealt with a business like this. ROOF was done in 2018 and in January 2023 the roof began to leak, flooding the inside of my house. since the house is still under warranty, I called the company to fix. on January 24 2023 called and talked to ********, she said she would call back. On Jan 26 called again and no answer. Jan 27 company called, said they were back logged but will send someone to put plastic on roof. Jan 28, **** from company came and did plastic, checked the attic and took pictures and sent to management for assessment. On Jan 30 roof still not done, ***** messaged that the roof will get done on the 14th of Feb. Feb 14th roof was done but will get back to me about the attic. As of today, April 26th, attic still has not been fixed. I have called and we have messaged back and forth. They say will get back to me but never do, this is frustrating. Just asking for a date of when they will ************. Need to remove the wet installation and dry out the closet (checking for mold) and then add installation back that is not wet.Business Response

I signed a contract for solar panel and battery back up with the company in July 2022. The following month the company sent the engineering team for survey if the solar panel could be installed on my roof. In October and November 2022 they installed the solar panel along with battery back up. During this rainy season starting in November 2022 until April 2023, we experiencing the leaking on my roof. The company promised to send an inspector starting February 2023, The same company also canceled couple appointment with the reason that everyone on the construction department is busy. Finally after several cancelations, the company finally send an inspector on April 11,2023. The inspector found out that the roof is leaking and almost fallen out on the inside. He said that the solar panel should not be installed on this type of the roof. And he will get us an estimate with the company will take care the majority of the cost and about $2000 in our part. Until now, the company and the inspector never called us nor give us an update. First we want them to fix the whole leaking and making sure that the roof did not collapse. The simple reason is because the company engineering team surveyed this roof and approved the project. Second the construction team came in and continue with the installation. They made an error and continue with the project and making my roof leaking. Without the secure and safe roof, the solar panel will be destroyed since the roof almost collapse due to the leaks and they never came . They canceled several appt since February and making the leaks worse every time it rains. If this is the promise and quality of the US Marine ***************, I felt betrayed and dishonest work they did for me. Please be a Marine and keep your honor to fix the issue.Business Response

Semper Solaris installed solar panels and hooked up our solar system in April 2022. With recent ** rain and weather, we now have a water stain on the ceiling of our family room that was never there before. We called the company about six times, they have records because the receptionist would recognize the house and phone number and apologize someone has gotten back to us. Someone called me back and left an inaudible number. I wrote and stated I was going to file a complaint and they again, called me back but no service follow up or appointment booked. This has been going on since March and we're almost in May! No site visits, no call backs, no emails. However, to test the company, we called about a battery back up system install, sales, and they were on that fast! The guy came out that week! I want my roof fixed and the water damage repaired. We only know what we can see, so there needs to be an inspection in the attic to assess further damages.Business Response

I went into a solar contract with Semper Solaris in 9/2022 well before the rush for NEM3. I was assured everything would be installed and PTO by end of year to ensure tax credit for 2022.***After site-assessment they went silent. I had to reach out for any information. I was never provided a final design to review to approve where the panels would go for the permit but one was filed anyway. Changes were made for fire code but I wasnt informed. Then I find out a sub-panel was needed. When asked how much, they said its included. How could they know its included before a site-assessment? Doesnt seem honest.***As a result, I sent 3 different cancellation notices in 1/2023, the next day I received a ready for install email. A rep called to congratulate me on install. I asked how we could be at install when 1) I havent seen the panel design to approve 2) I dont have any indication a new permit was filed and approved 3) I had no information about the change-order to add a sub-panel. I received no answers.***2 MONTHS after canceling I was contacted by a SS agent DEMANDING I pay for addtl work outside of my deposit. She dismissed my exp. saying were a big company. I asked for someone from customer service to call me back to chat, she declined. When I asked for her supervisors contact information, she said they would reach out but that never happened either.***I waited for Semper Solaris to do the right thing and acknowledge my experience wasnt what they strive for but this agent made it clear by representing SS that that was not the case and regardless of the facts, you owe money. Additionally, my CC and bank account was compromised after sending to SS in 9/22. My experience was dismissed as bad luck but on 4/21 SS sent out an email ACKNOWLEDGING someone has compromised payment information. ***I am seeking my deposit back and dismissal of these additional fees because of the negligence on Semper Solaris part and their lack of accountability.Business Response
