This company installed a solar system with battery backup at our house. Recently our grid power went out but the backup power did not go on. I called 2.5 weeks ago to have a service technician come see what the problem is. They told us 7 days for a response. We called after that time period passed, and they said they "escalated us to emergency status." It has now been 2.5 weeks and still no response. I called again today and the message center claims they have no way to contact the company directly, all they can do is file another ticket. This company charges a lot of money to install these systems - they need to respond to customer complaints when they don't work.Business Response

Semper responded to my complaint by stating they would follow up, but still I have not received a call. It has now been 3 weeks since I contacted them. Until someone actually comes out to fix this very expensive system, I do not accept the response.Business Response

I started having a leaky roof this year since the big rain started about a month ago i contacted Semper Solaris trying to get them to come out and take a look at the installation they did last October or of August of 2023 they finally got a roof technician out, mind you I guess they told me they had to wait the rain to stop for a little while. the technician finally came out on the 28th of this month February 2024 and stated that the initial solar panel installers left a couple of my roof tiles loose then that's why my roof is leaking .Since the 28th of this month I've been trying to contact ***************** who has my point of contact about trying to find out when they're going to come out and send installers to take the solar panels off and fix my roof I am lucky that I have 1956 construction cement ceiling or else my ceiling would have been falling inside my house. last year I had to take them to the federal train commission for them to correctly finish installing and finishing my install that cost me $68,000 for that equipment and the installationBusiness Response

My that was February the 9th and we're always telling me it could take up to 10 days for a response. So they contacted me back and they told me they couldn't see me until the 28th. Meanwhile heavy rains and a wet attic and a wet roof inside my house for their damage occurring and it took two almost two days. Cleaning the day of the inspection for them to contact me back another telling me it's going to be another 22 days before they can come out again and fix my problem. So now that's going to be almost two months is my initial complaint. Meanwhile, it's still raining more damage occurring to my attic and my ceiling inside my house. I find that so unacceptable the day. No they damage my roof and they're taking their time and repairing. It is what it is. I'm just complaining inventing and I have to come in again an attorney and I'm going to sue ****** solaris any damages incurred because they are really taking their time and repairing my house in the damage they causedBusiness Response

Hello thank you for reaching out
We have visited the job site and made some preliminary repairs. We are returning soon to finalize.
Customer Answer
Date: 03/13/2024
The reason I do not accept their statement is because they have not been out to repair anything as of yet. The date for the visit to repair my solar panel shingles and holes on my roof isn't until the 21st of this month. A month later after the fact it came out to say it was her fault. Now the following after that on the 27th is when I'm available for them to come and repair the stains or pain or whatever they're going to do and the interior of my house. So until they've actually come out and done some repairs, I will not be accepting any of their statements that they've been out to do some preliminary repairs that did come out to do an investigation of the work they didBusiness Response

This company installed solar panels back in 2015 .i notice that some wires under need the solar panels are loose and touching the roof tile .i contacted Semper Solaris about this last December 2023 I didnt get an answer until February 2024 through an email telling me they need it a 200 dollar deposit and that charges could go up to 499 .never mind I have a 25 year warranty on panels .last time I had issues with the monitoring hardware I ended up paying them 500 dollars after arguing with them about the warranty. This company does not back up there warranty and is always more money.Business Response

Thank you for reaching out about this
This customer has a balance with our company that he has been unwilling to pay. This customer originally reached out asking if a shortfall in this production could be because of a loose wire. We checked his online monitoring and determined that his system is functioning normally and there is no shortfall in production . He then said that there is a loose wire that we should check out . We are happy to come by and take a look at these wires. We did ask the customer to please send us a photograph of the wires in question so that our technicians know what to look for when they come out. ******** stated that he does not want us to come out to prefers to post negative things about our company all over social media, which he has done. We are still happy to come by and take a look. If he could send us a picture of the wiring question that would be helpful.

I purchased solar panels for my home & a new electrical box for over $30K. As soon as they received payment it was like pulling teeth to get them to finish the job & get the panels permitted & turned on. It went on for months where I was consistently reaching out to get to the next step. Once finally turned on in September of **************************************************************** my home shutting off randomly for no reason at all. At first it was once a ********* brushed it off as a fluke but then it started happening more & especially when it rained. By December it was happening at minimum once a ************ a doubt everytime it rains. The electricity would be off for a few seconds up to several minutes. Sometimes coming back on, on its own, sometimes wed have to flip the breakers off & back on as the breakers were never flipped off the times the electricity went off. On January 3, 2024 I reached out to the company to express my concerns & ask what can be done. I emailed 2 different costumer service email addresses on their website & called their main line, left a message. I called back a hand full of times over the next couple of weeks, finally was able to speak to someone about what was going on, since then I have spoken to many different people, sent many emails & have had a few different scheduled calls & visits from a technician that never showed or never called. It is now almost 8 weeks & consistent outreaching from ****** have yet to have my system looked at & my electricity is still shutting off at any given time leaving ******* children w/out ******************* my appliances shutting off & my garage not opening. They are not helping me or taking my concerns seriously. In addition when I was in the process of signing my contract w/them in February 2023 I was sent a fraudulent email from their company which then led to my work being hacked & costing my employer $200K+ to fix all the damage caused by the hacker that is still not rectified.Business Response

At this time a technician has reached out yesterday (2/28/24) to tell me they would stop by on Friday (3/1/24). I explained I have a dog & someone will need to be home during the time they are there & i provided my availability from 11:30-2pm. I have not received confirmation of the appointment. Will not accept the businesses response as it is not a resolution to the problem of the system. Once my system is fix the complaint will then be resolved.Business Response

I don't think the BBB is reading these messages.
There is not much reason to keep going back and forth here. I believe a technician visited your house a few days ago and we will continue moving through the process.

We had our Solar, Panel and HVAC done by Semper Solaris in January. The process was good and install was almost perfect. Our issue is with the amount Semper Solaris is expecting from the Federal Solar credit. As this is new to us our tax preparer advised us the amount Semper Soalrs is seeking from credit is false. As they include multiple things in final loan amount to get a hire return. HVAC being one of them. The amount claimed for that credit will set off red flags due to the amount to square footage of our home. We could get audited due to this. We have asked by phone, email and no one has gotten back to us. They told us someone is working on it but we are left in the dark with no direction. The fact that our project manager was let go just after completion of our project has left us wondering and out on our own. After sometime we got ahold of someone and they were unable to provide an itemized receipt to show our tax preparer. That information being withheld brings lots of questions and concerns.Business Response

Hello thank you for reaching out about this
The 30% federal tax credit is for the amount of money spent on installing the solar system and/or home storage (batteries).
Customer Answer
Date: 02/26/2024
yes we are aware of the 30%. The loan total amount included HVAC and panel upgrade. Those do not get the 30%. Semper Solaris hasn't disclosed or given us an itemized receipt due to the fact that they know those things aren't eligible for the 30% credit. Yet they are telling us we need to give a credit of 24k due to total loan being 80k. Further we contacted the loan agency and the #s Semper Solaris gave them for product costs are totally different than the numbers they gave us and applied to loan.Business Response
Date: 03/03/2024
Thank you for reaching out about this.
The homeowner is conflating two different topics. Firstly the homeowner is eligible for a 30% tax credit for the solar installation and the panel upgrade. The homeowner has been provided a breakdown of HVAC versus solar costs. This is the information that the homeowner needs to give to their accountant in order to apply for the tax credit . The homeowner signed up for a loan that allows a discounted rate to approximately $24,000 that must be paid that at an accelerated time frame according to the terms the homeowner signed up for and agreed to. There's nothing we can do to change the loan, It is an agreement with an outside finance company.
In summary, the homeowner has the expense breakdown and there's nothing we can do about the loan that they agreed to with an outside finance company. The homeowner is also engaged back and forth with our customer service department. There's not much more to discuss here.

Ive been waiting patiently for a solution to resolve the problem I am currently having with one of the panels. This specific panel is operating and half potential. This is unacceptable considering Ive only had this system for a year. This company claimed they have the best customer service. But yet 6 weeks later and not one phone call regarding my issue. This company is whats wrong with this country. Can not trust anyone. I will never recommend this company ever.Business Response

When Semper Solaris installed my system, they installed the charging port upside down and they failed to install a ground wire. When they ignored multiple calls, I hired a local electrician to fix the issue Semper created. Cost &1475. I want to be repaid.Business Response

I called on Feb 13 to get help, my solar has not produced for the past 2 months. I was told I could not be helped, I had to open a case and wait 7 to 10 days to be called back. During my 7 to 10 days I’ve called back four times and still received no help. Each time I called I was told I would have to open another case and wait another 7 to 10 days for someone to call me back. Today was my 10th day and still no call.Initial Complaint

I contracted with Semper Solaris to remove and reinstall solar panels so ******* could be replaced. Semper Solaris originally installed our solar system and in order to keep the warranty valid, we were obliged to have them remove and reinstall the solar panels. The email I received from the salesperson stated that "scheduled time to remove existing solar panels, racking and conduit on roof" is included. The email stated that "removing solar footings from rooftop" was not included. I called the salesperson and asked why the footings will not be removed. He stated it is normal to not remove the footings as water will leak into the roof if they remove them. I said ok. On the day ******* was to be replaced, the roof contractors noted the racking and conduit was no removed. They roofing company than charged me $750 to remove the racking and conduit.Semper Solaris will not cover the charges to remove the racking and conduit even though that is what I paid for.Business Response
