On September 19, 2022, I went to Encino Mailboxes to ship two boxes from Encino to *********. I added insurance on both but the employee mistakenly put the insurance on one box only in the amount of $1000. *** Tracking number 1Z4231790392346177. Both were picked up by the driver at 4:10 and I have a signature. The uninsured package arrived, but the insured package did not. I went into the store and asked if the owner could start a claim form to locate my package. For weeks, *************************** told me he was having computer issues preventing him from filing the claim with ***. After several conversations, he was finally able to proceed. On November 1 he sent a copy of a reply from *** stating that the supporting documents for the claim had been received. He told me that as the agent for ***, he was the only person who could handle this claim. On November 27, he received a notice that the box had not been found and to please promptly submit the required information listed i.e. Actual cost, replacement cost, original receipts if available, shipping record, and that "if the required documents were not timely received by ***, the claim may be denied". He sent that letter to me on December 3. I supplied him with all of that information, including pictures, on December 8. I was mistakenly assuming that he then filed all of the documents and I was waiting for *** to settle the claim. I tried to contact him by phone several times in January and February but he never returned my calls. I finally was able to reach him March 3, a Friday. He informed me he had computer issues again, with their system, and couldn't file the claim yet. He said he would call me on Monday. I have not heard from him. I paid $80.94 to insure and send the package that has disappeared and expected him to know how to file the claim as the agent for ***. He told me he had never filed a claim before and that my claim is the first. This is unacceptable. I am starting with this complaint to get a resolution.
