1 starHyundai Elantra and others have defective parts and engines that should be replaced. See Complaints on ***************** NHTSA engine problems. No recall by Hyundai, seldom acknowledge hundreds of complaints. Car dealers replace part after part, you pay for parts and service, then they recommend a new engine. Calling Hyundai to complain is a waste of time. It's a nightmare to own a car that stalls, slows suddenly and then stops on a highway in traffic and cars behind you traveling at 60 MPH, oil leaks and a malfunctioning list too long to enumerate. Then at the end; you need a new motor. It would be funny if it were not so time consuming, exhausting, disturbing and costly. It's like attending a funeral daily and then hoping the person would get up and walk away. There needs to be a Congressional investigation, another Class action lawsuits centered around Hyundai malfunctioning vehicles, poor customer service, no vin numbers included in recalls and the 2017 Hyundai Elantra engine recall not enacted in spite of hundreds of complaints about malfunctioning engines in this model, no recalls in spite of being aware of defective motors and more. Maybe the *************** and 60 Minutes will start an investigation. We all need a refund and more laws passed to stop this abuse of Customers.Review fromCynthia S

1 starPLEASE DO NOT BUY A HYUNDAI. THE OIL CONSUMPTION IS CAUSING AN ENGINE FAILURE. THEY ARE TRYING TO PATCH UP THE WORK INSTEAD OF FIXING THE ACTUAL PROBLEM, THE ENGINE. HYUNDAI OF KENNESAW HAS HAD MY VEHICLE FOR 2 WEEKS WITH NO EMPATHY NOR DO THEY WANT TO GIVE ME A LOANER VEHICLE. I HAVE AN EXTENDED SERVICE PLAN IN WHICH THEY STATED THEY SUBMITTED A CLAIM (PER ***********************) COME TO FIND OUT PER MY EXTENDED SERVICE PLAN THAT WAS A LIE NOTHING WAS EVER SUBMITTED. I CALLED BACK HYUNDAI OF KENNESAW FOR CLARIFICATION AND THEY STUTTERED AND LIE THE WHOLE CONVERSATION. I THEN CALLED BACK MY EXTENDED SERVICE PLAN AND THEY ADVISED ME THAT ONE WAS JUST SUBMITTED AFTER THEY WERE CAUGHT IN THEIR LIE. JUST TELLING ME ANYTHING TO GET ME OFF THE PHONE. PLEASE DO BUSINESS ELSEWHERE.Review fromPatricia B

1 starLeased a 2022 ************** in October 2021 from ******* Hyundai in *******. It had 233 miles when I drove it to ********* where I currently live and had it titled. First time I took it in to **** ******** Hyundai in ************, the odometer did not match the paperwork. I was told they corrected it on their end and no worries. My lease is now ending and because the milage is wrong and has not been corrected properly, I cannot sell or buy out the vehicle with the error. The dealership has been no help and at this time can only take the car back. I have ****** miles on my car, yet the odometer on the original title stated ******, which was the price of the car. Spoke with ***** at ASAP Title in ** and he stated it was a clerical error entry on their end and he can fix it but needs the original title which is no longer. Speaking with ***, a supervisor with Hyundai Corp, and ***** on the same call, *** was asked to send the original title to ASAP Title. ***** can correct it and send it back so I can get it my titled correctly on my end and move forward. Speaking with *** yesterday, he states "IF" Hyundai will even send off a new title, it will then go to DMV and can take several weeks to clean up. I stated several times, I don't have that time. I want to sell my car privately, payoff the lease and then I can purchase a new vehicle. With my low miles, I will make some money for the down payment. IF THIS TAKES WEEKS, my lease end will be up and all I can do is return it.I am single, retired, disabled and have a limited budget. This situation is causing me extreme stress, lack of sleep and no urgency from Hyundai! I could end up with no vehicle, and no profit to buy a new car. I feel I am being deceived, and my car held hostage with the only option to return. I am looking into legal representation because of the lack of customer service I am getting. It is affecting my mental and physical health.Review fromGREGORY S

1 starAfter a recall on my Hyundai 2020 Tucson the vehicle has been getting the check engine light appear and then it disappears..I've taken it to the dealership to get it checked several times...it's always the same result "it's fine" but after several open cases with corporate which they're not help as well I highly recommend DO NOT BUY Hyundai at all...do yourself a favor and check reviews from other make and model vehicles. My vehicle is a 2020 ****** and with only 50k miles it's already failing.Review fromJames I

1 starWe had a stutter noise happening at idle and check engine light on. Code said spark plugs. Got them replaced and still happened. Got coils changed and still happened. Hundreds of dollars later we brought to shop to run diagnostic and had zero oil. Just had it changed a month age. No oil light indicator. It now is losing a quart of oil per week! So much money and it makes our car stall in the middle of driving as it places itself in neutral. Its going to damage our engine. Local Hyundai is very aware but corporate has to approve a replacement and even that isnt guaranteed. An engine issue and oil issue to this magnitude should not occur after only ******* miles.Review fromHeidi K

1 starIn 2021 my daughter's 2011 ****** was diagnosed with the engine recall failure and it had to be replaced. During replacement she paid for a rental (over $1.5k) and was told she would be reimbursed since they didn't have a loaner. She applied for reimbursement multiple times, but they kept asking for proof that the car was hers and not mine (I gave it to her). She eventually gave up because of the difficulty. Fast forward to the end of 2023 and the vehicle is losing oil again. Our mechanic tells us it's the same issue as before. We contact the dealership and she's given an appointment a ways out. They look at it and say nothing is wrong with the vehicle. She continues having to put in quarts of oil in between oil changes and tells the dealership again. She's given another appointment months out. In the beginning of 2024 the car cuts off. Our mechanic finds metal debris in the oil, the new engine failed for the same recall issue. Hyundai is so backed up with this issue she still has to wait months for them to inspect it. After they do they deny the claim. Hyundai USA says her only recourse is to submit a BBB dispute. The BBB decides Hyundai needs to replace the engine. She gives the paperwork to the dealership and they still have to submit it for approval. The repair was approved and she's given a loaner while the work was to be done. The next week she gets a call from the dealership saying she has to bring the car back because Hyundai told them she took a buyback offer. She finally reaches Hyundai's customer service, and they tell her there is a clause in the arbitration that if the car is over 10 years old and over 150k miles they can make an offer instead of replacing the engine. (It's not taken into account that the engine is new even though the car isn't) Regardless, Hyundai did NOT tried to contact her prior to telling the dealership to stop the work and to get the rental back. They also offered over $1k less than what arbitration states it should be based on.Review fromIVY C

1 starDO NOT BUY A GENESIS GV80!!! THIS VEHICLE HAS MALFUNCTIONED MULTIPLE TIMES AND GENESIS HAS DONE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT IT!! WE GET PASSED AROUND ON CALLS, NO ONE EVER CALLS BACK. WE HAVE TO USE THE CHAT FEATURE AND AGAIN ONCE THEY FIND OUT ALL THE THINGS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE, NO ONE STILL CALLS YOU BACK! THE VEHICLE STOPS RUNNING WHILE DRIVING, THE AIR CONDITIONER BLOWS HOT AIR. WE WERE TOLD THERE WAS A RECALL REGARDING THE FUEL PUMP IN JULY OF 2024. WE TOOK IT IN FOR THE REPLACEMENT AND THE VEHICLE IS WORSE THAN BEFORE. THIS WEDNESDAY THE VEHICLE STOPPED RUNNING AND I WAS ALMOST HIT BY A FIRE TRUCK FROM BEHIND! THE VEHICLE STOPPED TURNING ON ALL TOGETHER. IT WAS TOWED 30 MILES AWAY AND WE WERE TOLD THEY HAVE NO LOANER VEHICLES SO WE CAN GET TO AND FROM WORK. WE SHOULD RENT A CAR. ALSO I HAD TO RENT A CAR BECAUSE THERE WERE NO LOANER CARS AVAILABLE JAN 2023 AND I WAS STUCK WITH A ******* BILL AND NO I WAS NOT REIMBURSED AS I WAS TOLD I WOULD BE. MY VEHICLE WAS AT THE SHOP FOR A WEEK AND A HALF. THIS IS A BAD PURCHASE ALL AROUND. ********** DON'T TREAT THEIR HIGH PAYING CUSTOMERS THIS WAY. ALSO THE ********************* IS ABSOLUTELY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! NONE OF THESE PEOPLE CARE THAT I WAS ALMOST KILLED IN THEIR MALFUNCTIONED VEHICLE!! THIS IS THE WORSE LUXURY VEHICLE I HAVE EVER DRIVEN!! I REPEAT DO NOT BUY!! IT GETS 1 STAR BECAUSE IT'S PRETTY!Review fromlatricemadden1

1 starIf I could do no starts I would. Purchased a brand new 2024 Hyundai Sonata N-line. I worked as a service advisor for Hyundai and Genesis both for a year and a half. I have waited over 3 months for a back ordered radar sensor. Consumer affairs did absolutely nothing for me during the process. The only update I received from starting a claim with consumer affairs was that they had no new update of eta and when I would receive the next phone call only to tell me the same thing no update at this time. They did not provide a loaner through the process as well as denying me for reimbursement for the three months the part was on back order. Note my car is still in the shop 4 months later only this time the part has arrived. Please as a former service advisor do not choose Hyundai. I worked for Hyundai genesis ***************** and **** They are absolutely the worst. As a consumer you would expect parts to be readily available. They can not keep up with the demand they just want your money. Do your research they have had several lawsuits regarding this brand. Rod bearing engine failure oil consumption and theft lawsuits. They offered me nothing to compensate for the back ordered part and the three months I have paid on this vehicle. Other brands will offer free oil change a coupon something in exchange to show they value you as a consumer or to make up for whatever mistake or inconvenience you have experienced. As a former service advisor for this brand go somewhere else. Do not buy from Hyundai. The only reason I purchased the Hyundai was bc I worked there at the time. Even with me working for the brand it doesnt make any difference at all. They are awful.Review fromLydia S

1 starWhat I think is that the Hyundai manufacturing motors of America should be liable for so many people that are loosing so much money because of the poor quality of the vehicles they built every minute and stop advertising them like they are the best, all they are building is junk engines that within 2 years of buying their products you pay the consequences because of their irresponsibility. I just bought a 2017 Hyundai Tucson and without any warning lights and been serviced 6 months ago blew the engine and the company denied pay for a new engine .Please do not buy Hyundai you will regret it ! !
