On October 25th 2025, I worked with a representative ( ******** ******) from Complex Steel to design a building to be installed on my property. The contract shows the building to be installed on gravel and i would take out a Permit through the Riverside County ************** To ensure building meets Building code an extra charge of $2412.00 was added to the contract as a Plan Fee.I payed the deposit of $4471.30, and on 11/12/2024 I was contacted by a ********* ******** from the ************* with Complex Steel asking me to review the order so that she could send it to her Engineer. On Dec 4, 2024 ********* called me to inform me that the Engineer could not provide me Plans to install the Building on gravel to meet Riverside County Code, and that i would have to pour a concrete foundation. I informed ********* to place the order on hold until i spoke to the sales rep ******** ******. I immediately called ******** to inform him that the Building i payed for cannot be installed on gravel and he stated that he didn't know the building had to be installed on concrete to meet County requirements. I reached out for bids on concrete to see if i could continue with the order but the cost created a financial hardship.Therefor i spoke with Both ********* and ******** to cancel my order. Ive received multiple emails when i inquire about the status of my refund from ********* that she has informed management ( SarahiCruz) of my request for refund. Weeks, then months went by of me requesting the contact information of the office manager ****** ****, the owner ****** ******. Ive called the business asking to speak to either ****** or ****** and i continue to be sent to a general mail box and never get a return call. Ive emailed ****** **** and ****** ****** pleading to please refund my deposit, and i get no response.I pray that the BBB can assist in this matter. Thank you.Initial Complaint

Purchased shed for backyard on 8/26/2024 from Garage Buildings (GB). Since GB is in the state of **, asked if they installed in **. They said yes, they have a warehouse in **. Price was $12,919.10 Put $2,080 ******* no time were we told that GB would not be the company that would be installing our shed. They had Complex Steel Buildings (CSB) install our building. Install was Nov *****. I sent a check in the mail for $5,419.55 on 10/29/2024 to CSB. When building was complete, it looked nice from the outside & inside. Signed off that the work was completed & paid the remaining balance of $5,419.55 to CSB. Not knowing that the bubble wrap was holding water from rain & that several screws were not put in properly, Hired a local licensed contractor to put up real insulation, wall board, ceiling fan & 2 lights & painted the walls. Rain came & the roof did not meet the sides of the building in several places. Bubble wrap covered the walls & the ceiling. Water filled the walls of the building between the bubble wrap & the walls. The water between the bubble *********** was holding water & getting heavier by the day as it rained. I had a licensed contractor ********* said we need to pull the bubble wrap off the ceiling. Its holding water & causing damage. So we took it off the ceiling. Tons of water pour out. Contractor went on the roof & said, the screws were put in sloppily. The shavings from the screws were left on the roof & with the rain, the shavings have rusted & adhered to the roof in just a week. He said the bubble wrap masked the ability for us to see that the roof did not match up with the walls and allowed the water to come down into the walls. Went through the proper channel of trying to get CSB to fix the roof, but they are not cooperating. We then went to ** & asked for help since our contract was with them. As consumers, our things are sitting outside in the elements with tarps over them. I have reported both companies to the ****.Initial Complaint

We purchased a building from US National Steel who contracted unbeknown to us to Complex Steel buildings on 6/19/2024. We should have engineered plans per our specification by no later than 6 weeks and we still do not have usable plans. The plans provided included a slab which we did not want, we also caught error on roll up door which was our error that we did not catch on contract and should have paid closer attention, We offered to pay for the larger door even though the door size was quoted to us as a 12 x 14 not the 10 x 12 that was in the contract. We have asked for a full refund and send several email with no resolution, if they do reply they just point the finger at us and never address the issue. We did pay US National Steel $10081.00 of that $4800.00 is for the engineered plans. for a total cost for 50 x 60 x 16 building of $59,352.13Initial Complaint

Initially when I called to order this building that was way ****** priced to begin with they had me put a $2,000 down payment down which was non-refundable no matter what so about after a week I realized I didn't want the building cuz it was going to be $12,000 and I didn't know that in the beginning but I could not get my $2,000 back if I if I canceled it so I carried on with it so when I called them back when they went over everything with me I asked them specifically if I needed a building permit they said it was up to me but I did not need one because it was going to be on gravel not concrete so I told him that was the last of my money and they said well you should be fine because you don't need a building permit so then when they showed up they showed up with no doors no windows due to losing the bottom of the door and forgetting the windows they barely gave me 15% off of my original price for forgetting those things and losing the door and they proceeded on to put the building up well after they left a few days after they left code enforcement came and I got coded because they said I absolutely needed a building permit for that I feel as though if they're charging 12/12,000 for buildings they should offer the building permit with the price because of now I cannot afford the building permit and also I would need the the written out plans for the building which they want to charge me $1,700 to get to get the building permit so we're talking ***** and I don't have it I'm tapped out because of the building and they will not do anything to help me and I'm going to get in trouble by code enforcement I think it's bad business and I think it's wrong of them not to offer that when they charge so much for their buildings that aren't even worth it
