I purchased flooring from LA Carpet with a lifetime warranty from ***** who is now retired.. They have been to my home on 3-4 separate occasions to make repairs. Currently, there are parts of the floor that need attention. I recently contacted ********* and ***** on March 11, 12,&13 to be told they have to wait for IT so they can find my invoice. ********* asked for pictures, which i sent. Apparently my invoice has disappeared. I called again on March 27, and was told they still can't find my invoice but they would contact me the following week. Here it is April 12th and I have not heard anything further. Btw..***** gave me 2 invoice numbers which can't be used from the previous repairs. It is not my fault their system crashed or is outdated. I want my floor repaired.

L.A. Carpet sold us, (two seniors), on a stain resistant carpet. The salmon up sold us with a strong verbal guarantee explaining in detail why we should purchase this particular manufacturers carpet. Following the guidelines we were told to follow we contacted them repeatedly about stains. We were told to have our carpet Professionally cleaned and get back to them if the stains re-appeared, which we did. Over the course of months, multiple one-sided calls to ***************** we were told, "There is no defect in the carpet". They never came out to our home, nor did they respond to their salesman's verbal warranty/guarantee that the carpet would be replaced if the stains could not be removed.

I am writing to bring to your attention the unresolved claim that my household has with ********************************* On May 4, 2024, a claim was submitted due to stains and buckling of the carpet, which were previously guaranteed to be covered under the warranty provided by your company. Supporting documentation, including images and professional cleaning receipts, were promptly supplied as per the claim submission requirements. We purchased this carpet more than two years ago for more than $4,000 (invoice: ****** & 002779)In response to the claim, a representative from your **************************** *********, indicated that resolution typically takes 4-8 weeks. However, it has now been over four months since the initial claim was filed, and there has been no communication or follow-up from ******************************** despite numerous attempts via phone calls and emails. The lack of response and delayed resolution raise concerns regarding the commitment of ******************************** to customer service and fulfillment of warranty obligations. This situation has caused significant frustration and disappointment on my end, as it reflects poorly on the integrity and professionalism of your company.I kindly request urgent attention to this matter to ensure prompt resolution and uphold the terms of the warranty agreement. I can be reached at ******************** (mailto:********************) to discuss this matter further and seek a satisfactory resolution to the outstanding claim.Thank you for your immediate attention to this urgent appeal. LA Carpet renovated our condo between January and March 2024. We purchased the unit in June 2024. The seller had not been residing in the home. Within one week of use of the newly installed shower, water had pooled above the downstairs' neighbours shower. We immediately contacted LA Carpet to fix this under the one year warranty mandated by the California Civil Code. LA Carpet asked us to have the building plumbers inspect the issue. They cut a hole in the downstairs' neighbours drywall in order to do so. The plumbers found, definitively, that LA Carpet had done an incompetent job and had failed to properly attach the sub strainer, which was leaking. We took the plumbing report to LA Carpet, who has done nothing but avoid our phone calls and emails. Section 900 of CA Civil Code binds the company legally to honor a warranty, which they won't even address in writing, as they have simply avoided speaking to us about the issue. We have called them seven times, had five conversations (each time the contractor, ************************* is 'too busy to talk'), left voicemails, sent emails, and no concern has been meaningfully addressed despite them requesting an inspection of their work and us delivering. Their conduct has been fundamentally dishonest, incompetent, and in breach of CA warranty.

On 7-1-24 we met with ****** to have our floors updated, we did use him previously for carpet and it is awesome. When we met here at our home we went through some samples and there was not a good selection, so we chose the lightest color in the book. It almost looked like what we already had but we needed to have this done ASAP because we had a plumbing problem and mold. I have COPD and can't take the chances with this. they installed the floor on 7/20/24 and the men laying the floor were awesome. They did find more mold and for that I'm grateful, it's gone now but they installed the wrong color. I noticed it when they did the bathroom and contacted ****** while they were laying and he said it was the same as I picked out just a new dylets. He sent me the pic that I picked and said it was the same. I told him no it had lots brown in it and a lot of irregular chicken scratches. I'm sending pictures. I believe we got discontinued merchandise. Now I know why he was so avid on us picking a second choice. We told him no (no second choice). I think he made that choice for me. When I sent him the picture that I took it of the when he was here it was sent back with 4 pictures with a little square in the middle (I never saw my picture again). But that's ok he sent me a picture of what I picked out via text. Just want to say that the gentleman who cleaned up the mold under the floor, his name was ****. He spent a lot of time, and we so appreciate him. We give them each a 50-dollar tip. If they replace, the Vyhnal would like to request for the same gentleman who installed our floor, his name is ****. I also sent a picture of the contract it is a very outdated format and I couldn't make heads or tails of it.

      Good afternoon,

Based on the information received and reviewed, we have compared the flooring that was selected by Mrs. Rodriguez, which is written in the invoice, and the flooring that was ordered and it was verified it's the same flooring.

Harvey is correct, the dye-lot might be different, also there are times where the sample doesn't show all of the characteristics from the flooring.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 07/26/2024

I feel like this was a huge error on the part of LA Carpet, the color of the floor went from a cream color to a dark brown. I have sent several pictures that are adequate for this dispute. This is so wrong! And yes, the flooring was agreed on with my husband Andy, He didn't pick it out. They should have told us that there was a pretty big difference in the color. And their invoices were not legible, and we believed in them and never would imagine them to do this to us after we had such a positive carpet installation. We have had to do a lot of repairs due to water damage in our kitchen. This is not what I wanted. And I don't except this. They need to fix.

I contracted with LA Carpet for a kitchen remodel at my Corona Home on 4/20/23 and was promised a 10-day completion date . Construction began 5/22/23. The contract was presented in different stages. $1,000 down payment, paid on 4/20/23; $25,900 upon completion of cabinets, paid on 6/20/23; $20,690 for granite/quartzite; $4,600 backsplash; and, $6,300 appliance installation. The project started wrong immediately with the installation of cabinets; thus, requiring multiple contacts with the office. The installer cut my floor tiles around the island for no reason, the island was installed crooked; adjustment to cabinets were made by inserting moldings to either prop up doors or ends, which are different in all areas. There are gaps between doors and frames. Cabinet spacing differs throughout. Refrigerator panels show metal underneath. Adjoining wood shows lines which require some type of caulking(?) to cover; floor moldings are missing, etc. Then, quartzyte was installed and was uneven around the sink and did not cover the underlayment throughout--the last straw that caused cancellation. Contacted company to repair but they claimed that they cannot fix it. This was a total nightmare of a project. So, on 6/24/23 I was forced to cancel the whole project due to poor workmanship. Now, they are trying to collect on the unfinished part of the contract, including the quartzite that the fabricator ruined, and want to reinstate contract. I refuse to pay any other amounts and fired them from this project for good. They are threatening court action. And, I must complete this project with another company immediately.

The cabinet installation is finished including the adjustments, everything was finished on 06/28.

For the countertop, the material is fabricated and ready for the repair. LA Carpet is waiting for Mrs. ***** to allow us to move forward.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 07/17/2023

I am rejecting this response due the job provided is substandard and the quality of workmanship is totally lacking.  Since there was no supervision of the job from LA Carpet, and had to complain during many of the steps in construction and installation.  As result, I was forced to hire an independent inspector to inspect.  Under separate cover, you will receive the pictures (in color) of the inspection result.  Consequently, I requesting that LA Carpet take all their materials from my home and reimburse me for the total amount paid.

LA CARPET INSTALLED A KITCHEN COUNTERTOP, THE COUNTER WAS NEVER DONE CORRECTLY. FIRST THE OPENING FOR MY STOVE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE 30 INCHES AND THEY MADE IT 31.5 AND DID NOT PUT A FILL PIECE BEHIND THE STOVE HAD TO BUY ANOTHER STOVE. THEY CAME BACK TOO REPLACE 2 PIECES OF COUNTERTOP LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE OF STOVE SO I WOULD HAVE A 30 INCH OPENING. THE RIGHT SIDE SEEM HAD A DEFECT AND THEY HAD TO COME FIX AGAIN, WHICH THEY DID (AND DAMAGED MY CABNET). THE RIGHT SIDE SEEM POOPED AND THEY HAVE HAD TO COME BACK AND FIX MULTIPLE TIMES (THIS WILL BE #5)
THEY SAID THEY WILL REPLACE ONE PIECE OF THE COUNTER, IF THEY DO THAT THE GLUE RESADUE LEFT BEHIND TO FIX IT THE 4 TIMES PRIOR WILL STILL SHOW. i WANT MY COUNTER DONE THE CORRECT WAY LIKE I TOLD THEM BEFOR. THAT WAS IS TO REPLACE BOTH PIECES OF COUNTER.

We hired LA Carpet to renovate our kitchen and install laminate flooring throughout the house. Everything was okay except the subway tile backsplash. The gentleman installing came on a Sunday and spent 9 hours but only was able to finish one side of the wall. He was not fully focused on the tiles since he was also on the phone talking throughout the whole time and only using 1 hand.
Now that the backsplash is finished- it’s inconsistent with the grout lines and also some tiles are not straight.
