I am a new customer of ******************** in ********* as of January 2025. I set up *** payments on February 2nd and my *** payment went through on 2/4. I set up automatic payments so this bill would be paid without me having to think about it. On 2/15, they sent an email cancelling the *** payment option. An email is not sufficient notice. On March, I got charged a late fee because I had set up automatic payments, which they arbitrarily cancelled.I would like a refund for the late fee as well as for them to change they policies and practices. If you are cancelling *** payments on February 15th, why would you still allow people to sign up for *** payments less than two weeks prior? Corporate decisions do not happen overnight and that is completely misleading. "Here, use this convenient payment option!" [waits two seconds] "That option is no longer valid."Initial Complaint

My daughter, who is a college student in ****, **, took out a storage unit to store her belongings for summer of '24. Rented a storage unit from May - August '24. Paid extra for their protection plan to cover her belongings should anything happen to them while in storage.When we went to pick the items up in August, most items were in the same condition she had dropped them off in - largely due to them being in plastic storage tubs that were waterproof. However, a large bookshelf that was placed directly on the ground, was green with mold from moisture at the bottom. We had just purchased the bookshelf when she moved into her college dorm in August '23, so the item was not even a year old. When we contacted the storage unit to report the problem on the day we picked the items up and ask how we should move forward, we were told that we didn't need to worry since we had the protection plan, and this would be covered. We were asked to fill out some paperwork and to send a link to the bookshelf and that the issue should be resolved soon. We did this on that same day, which was 22 August, 2024. We dealt with the Property Manager, ***** *******. Since that time we have sent email after email, I have called the facility, and for the most part we have had very little response. We did receive further documentation to fill out at some point which we did and sent back to them. However, even so, there has been no resolution. I have begged and pleaded for them to please stop wasting our time and just finalize the claim, but we are over 6 months out and I just can't do this anymore. Our bookshelf was damaged due to a moisture issue at their facility, we have the protection plan, we have filled out all the documentation required of us, and yet they refuse for some reason to pay us our money back so we can buy another bookshelf.The business has all emails and documentation relating to this claim. Rented storage unit through US storage for several months , went to retrieve items and noticed some of my things were damaged , i reached out to property manager **** in regards to this to file claim ive submitted all information needed called to check on status of claim for reimbursement and they had changed the name of company or sold to another owner without notice i have reached out to both companies and no one has seemed to help me with us saying they no longer own storage so would have to file through Smart stop self storage since they have took over property and all records. Reached out to them and they stated i would need to file claim with US STORAGE since they were who i were paying and it happened while renting from them , it has just been a bunch of back and forth and no one can help me and ive paid my money AND IM STUCK WITH MOLDED MATRESS AND DAMAGED TV DUE TO STORAGE UNIT HAVING HOLE IN ROOF AND MY KIDS AND I STUFF HAVE BEEN RUINEDInitial Complaint

In Sept. 24 I went online and ordered a storage unit at the rate of $75/Mo.; that was the rate, there was no Timed Promotion. I paid through December up front, and then in December again. I missed January, and now the bill for February shows a %100 Rate Increase to $150/Mo.; as well as a %100 Interest Charge on the balance, for a total of $300 due w/ March 1st bill of another $150. Instead of $150 plus one or two $20 late fees, they want $450, in a couple weeks!?Initial Complaint

On January 18th of 2025 I went to the **************** facility to pay the declaration that was forwarded via email . The amount that was paid was 1650 and some change. After the fees were I happen to look at the charges that applied as I broke down the principal charges from the document provided by us storage. The unit late rent was less then a $1000.00 so the 650 dollar was excessive fees being applied illegally is my presumption. I have the declaration I can submit . Erroneously accused of not making payments. I receive threatening emails from the property manager, calls from the call center. I respond to each and everyone and spend much time with **************** customer service. And even though I spoke to no less than five people( ****** ******* ***** ****** ****) Access to my unit was suspended. ***** would not help me, informing me curtly That all I do is take paymentsSo I was forced to make an additional payment to gain access to my unit. This process took so long that it was now after dark and because of the lack of light, I couldnt even access my rented space.Again, I reached out to **************** asking about the so-called disputed payments, they have nothing on file. I left several messages for *****. And here we are today still ************** are showing me something that does not look official from **************** at all. I have used this storage facility before in the past with no problems. I have decided to use this storage facility again to storage my belongings. I went one day in August 20th 2024 to check on my storage unit and when I arrived the hallway lights where my storage unit was not working. I went back to the front office and asked the manager ***** if he can come with me because the lights were not working and I was a little scared to be in the storage area in the dark. He replied back to me and said dont worry I got you theres cameras feeling a little upset I went back to the unit and found that my locks were not placed the way I left it last time. I am the only one who comes to my unit and I am the only one who has the keys to my unit. I opened my unit and I noticed some of my belongings missing. I went back down to the front office and told ***** that someone broke into my storage and stole some of my stuff. He and another worker came to my storage with me and looked around. They told me that in some cases people can climb through the top of the unit squeeze in the opening, unscrew the part that holds the lock and then s**** it back in. My unit has a water pipe where the opening is so they dont think that happened. I told them that my locks was picked and put back because I didnt leave my locks the way it was placed when i got there. They told me cameras are only facing elevators. ***** told me to file a police report and report the items that was missing and since we pay for the insurance they will cover the items. Ive done what he told me to do and never received a response back. Ive sent multiple emails, called, and even stoped by the facility multiple times. Everytime I stop by the office hes always on a leave or not there even though I see his red car parked there. Ive left a message with the call center and no response back. No response back from emails. I need compensation for stolen items.
