      Complaint against US Storage Centers I am filing this complaint to address a concerning issue encountered with US Storage Centers. Upon arrival at their facility, I was surprised to find the elevators non-functional, causing significant inconvenience and unexpected expenses. Despite their offer to reverse the payment and provide alternative storage options, the gesture falls short of fully addressing the situation. I incurred expenses for gas and truck rentals due to the lack of communication regarding the elevators. This lack of transparency is troubling, and I request reimbursement for these expenses. I hope this complaint leads to improved communication and resolution of the matter.

      This company refuses to return calls or emails, is charging me for costs that have already been covered, is hostile. Their unit is filthy, near standing water, not manned by staff, isolated and feels unsafe.

      Today 02/22/24 at 9 am I went down there to pay on my storage unit # **** located at ***************************************************************************** the months I was behind after paying I was allowed access to my unit when I arrived to my unit I noticed 4 other units were charred and cut open my unit didn't have my original lock on it I lifted the door and noticed all my things were covered with dust which is expected but the dust that covered it wasn't dirty it was from the fire that took place there and smoke dust is what i called it all over my belongings i was pretty upset drove bak to gbe office and asked them to give me an explanation why i wasn't notified about the fire and that my things were at risk her response was " I was only told to notify the tenants whom the stuff belonged to but I didn't know it affected your things' still no reaching out to even give me the slightest resolution to my question was ever made the negligence of this business is just so shameful the got I have things that hae sentimental value tha no amount of money can replace those memories I'm wasn't given proper notification to the incident due to their negligence it's bad. Enough that I don't have much but the little things I have that belong to me are irreplaceable I want my money back and would like to be reimbursed all my valued items I can not tput those things in a house or an apartment due to the residue on the them from the fire

      On January 30, 2024, my storage unit #**** at US Storage Centers located at ********************************************************************* was broken into. I was told by the property manager that I would receive a claim form through email for items taken. That didn't happen. I had to call and ask for the information, at which time it was sent. I completed the form and returned it. I asked that confirmation of the email be sent so I know it was received. That didn't happen. I called to confirm and at that time I was told they needed pictures. No one reached out to me to request this information. I complied and sent pictures and again asked for conformation that the information was received and again, that didn't happen. So again, I made a phone call to confirm. I have not received any phones calls from the business. Any conversation has been because I have called. I have yet to receive any information about the insurance company after asking several times through the many phones calls I have made. No one wants to provide me with the the insurance company's name or contact information. I have not received any updates. When I call to ask about the situation, I am always told someone will return my call and it never happens. I have not been given a claim number. I don't know if a claim has been filed seeing as though no one is providing my anything. As of this week, this particular facility has been taken over by Public Storage. I am in week three since the incident, and I am still being given a run around. I have not received any correspondence through email, by phone, or by mail. I pay monthly for the insurance and I have not been compensated for my loss which was $4200 worth of merchandise.

      I had 2 storage units at the ********* location (7 ******* Road) for over a year and paid insurance premiums to protect from damage to the contents for that period of time. When I emptied the units in August I discovered water damage to furniture and damage from mice to items that were in boxes. Two dead mice were found in the unit when we cleaned it out. The damage only occurred in one of the units (A308). Once all of my belongings were removed there was obvious evidence of standing water at some point as there was a spot on the floor where the water ponded and dried over time. I filed a claim and submitted pictures of the damaged furniture and I have gone back and forth with the claims adjuster. He has requested information from ******** in order to determine the source of the water damage during the time my belongings were there. I have emailed ******** and made multiple calls to them to get a response and cannot get anyone to respond. Paying almost $300 per unit for 2 units each month for over a year, I expected SAFE storage. Now I cannot get them to assist me with this claim. Please advise if there is any assistance available.

      This storage facility not only harasses their customers, but they also encourage their employees to talk with complete disregard for the customers situations. I tried to pay my unit to vacate it, they were closed on their regular business hours, when I tried to go the day after they were closed, and wanted double the amount.

      I was charged over $500 on 10/16/23. I keep getting calls stating that I am in arrears on my unit. US Storage is claiming that on 11/10/23, the payment I made on 10/16/23 was reversed due to insufficient funds. I did not have insufficient funds. Furthermore, how is the storage facilitiy claiming that it took a month for the payment to process. The ** is stating that my items will be auctioned off on 12/21/23, 2 days away unless I pay $750 due to the $500 some payment was not included and it caused me to be charged late fees and lien fees. I have insurance on my unit but am not sure if it covers this. I have my bank statements and I called them to confirmthe payment I made on 10/16 was never returned to me. I am out over $500 and now being threatened with losing all of my things if I do not pay for an amount that was already paid. I will be taking US Storage to court seeking damages for losing an entire 3 bedroom house full of items. My bank has clearly said this was never returned. I am missing $509 and will fight them in court for the 10s of thousands of dollars worth of property if its auctioned off on error.

      My storage unit was auctioned off in error. I was in arrears on my storage unit, ** Storage - *************, ************, **. I rang the first week of October 2023 and was told by the manager, *****, I had until 10.31.23 to pay my bill in full. I received a notice on 10.27.23 that my unit had been emptied. After several attempts on 10.27.23 and 10.28.23 speaking to the call center several times who did see a notation on my account that I would pay in full by 10.31.23, I finally spoke to the manager, *****, who told me he had make a mistake and the unit had been auctioned off on 10.18.23. I asked who had purchased the unit. ***** told me he would look up the information and ring me with it on 10.28.23. Since that time I have not heard back from *****. I have called the call center multiple times, left messages for the district manager to call me back and have heard from no one.

      Rented a storage unit (#***) in March 2023 and cancelled the unit at the beginning of July 2023. I was told I would receive a credit in the amount of $111.00. The company does not communicate well at all. I never receive returned calls. The management keeps changing so I have to beg for assistance. I've spoken to *********************, ****** and now ****** and all have said they will discuss this and get it resolved with the District Manager. It has been over 3 months and I still can't get my credit. I'm tired of getting the run around. I need the BBB's assistance with getting this resolved.
