    On Dec. 4, 2023, I dropped my 2004 F-150 truck at the paint business address. Although the proprietor appeared to understand little English, I understood that we agreed to $200.00 to paint just horizontal surfaces, i.e. roof and hood. Upon being called to pick it up on Dec. 6, 2023, I again stated two-zero-zero over the phone, and the proprietor seemed to agree. Upon arriving at the business to pick-up the truck, his broken-English still sounded like "$200.00," which I gave him in cash. After ongoing, frustrating communication and hand signals, it seemed he meant $1200.00

    At no time in our discussions and negotiations would he agree to putting anything in writing, nor would I have agreed to $1200.00 for horizontal surfaces only on a 19 year old vehicle.

    In order to leave the lot, I asked for a reduction, which he concurred with at $900.00, and I paid in cash. He still has not provided a receipt nor invoice.

    I request a good faith refund of $400.00, as the work was done well--this proprietor needs an interpreter and written quotes and invoices in order to stay in business.

    Vendor provided a refund check for $400 today. I provided him with a sales pad from an office supply store and recommended he use it with future customers.
