1 starDO NOT MOVE INTO 909 West Apartments in *****, **. Like all the others, I am waiting for my Security deposit to be refunded. Our lease ended on 9/22/24. I had to contact them about my security deposit in October. They told me on the phone a check was mailed to my forwarding address for $708.00. I never received any check. I contacted them two weeks later and was told they would have to check with the manager and would get back to me, but there was no callback. Again, I called them, and now they tell me the check is being held up in accounting and will get back to me. Surprise, no callback. This is now early December. 60 days after our lease ended. I called again, and the employee told me she would put me on hold to see if the check had a tracking number. When the person returns, they tell me there is no tracking number yet, but they keep checking on it and get back to me when they have one. Two minutes after getting off the phone, I got an email with a statement of security deposit accounts typed on a Word document dated 10/03/24. I have never received emails or other correspondence from the apartments until 12/30/24. The statement says the lease end date is 9/22/24, which was correct. Written move-out notice on 7/1924. Which was 60 days before the lease end date, which complies with the lease agreement. But it says we moved out on 9/30/24. We have a signed key return form from the apartments and me on 9/7/24. Why would I move out on 9/30/24 when I had no keys to the apartment? The breakdown of funds from our ****** REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT says we owe money for prorated rent and other associated costs from 9/22/24 to 9/30/24. The statement listed fees of ****** for a cleaning fee (which my wife and I cleaned, so I know what it looked like when we left), ****** for paint (no damages), ****** for carpet shampoo (the apartment had all laminate flooring), and ****** for back-billed utilities. So when all the costs are added up, WE OWED THEM ******. THE WORST BUSINESS EVER!Review fromKerry C

1 starCaveat empetor on this apartment community. Read and believe all the ****** and **** reviews before considering becoming a tenant in this apartment community. The reviews are true. We almost rented here but thankfully the final red flag was thrown and we left before making a huge mistake. The community is disorganized and the office staff wasted hours of our time and cost us a lot of money. We are considering making complaints to the **** as well if the deposit is not returned immediately as the lease was never signed by us.Review fromJanetta A

1 starThis company is the headquarters of Saratoga Place Apartments in Sarasota. I moved there back in May from Colorado. Upon arrival I was given a different apartment than I was shown or discussed and very last minute too. I drove 30 hours with my son and we get to a dirty, uninviting, moldy smell driven, outdated apartment. With no walk through or anything. Well unfortunately I find out not long after that we have roaches, that there is a bacteria rotten water sitting at the base of the water heater. That had roaches feeding off of it and I could smell it through the unit. I had complained right away and to my surprise the manager had quit who I was "working" with. She didn't even show me the unit just dropped us off. I spent my entire time fighting them on constant issues, emails, work orders, drops in, phone calls. They neglected the issue for 6 months. We got sick, rashes all over us, coughing, and foggy headed. I was constantly finding roaches on the walls, my son had them in his room. It was horrific. They changed out the a/c unit. But the issues was already in full swing. I moved out on Oct 30th. As our safety was at hand. I got my move out paperwork on Nov 25th that I will be receiving my deposit back of $1713.00. I have emailed, called, had my lawyer write a demand letter. I have waited and was promised it would be here. Nothing. I have asked them to mail it on Dec 7th to the leasing office. Nehdine Juarez who I am working with said it was on its way she was working on it. Ita been 60 days since my move out. No one has any answers and I have been waiting for my money back. This company is a the most unethical, shady, unprofessional, money grubbing, dehumanizing company I've ever known. I will get my money back from this company and will keep fighting for myself and others who business like this think they can bully and try and manipulate the system with. Its wrong and they know it. But I hope everyone stays far away from this company and their minons.Review fromJanetta A

1 starI wanted to first state that anyone thinking of renting from Saratoga Place in Sarasota to reconsider. I moved down to Florida from Colorado and it's been a complete nightmare. It has caused enormous stress that has limited me from thriving. Because of the ongoing neglected issues at hand when I moved in. Involving bacteria driven water heater, roaches, and the constant lack of help I got there. I finally moved out. We got sick and had rashes all over our bodies. We had to stay in hotels and drain my saving accounts. The managers are so unprofessional and the turnover is outrageous. They lack any type of dignity and are the most unethical untrained and hold themselves to absolutely no accountability. I moved out on Oct. 30th. Never heard from the manager as I was entitled to my security deposit because of the neglect on their end. Well the manager who was there quit and so I didn't hear from someone until 3 weeks later. In which she assured me I was getting my check in the mail. I gave the forwarding address and waited. Finally drove down there and asked where my check was. She acted like she didn't know what was going on but once again assured me. Well they emailed me my move out final response and stated they owed me $1713.00. That was on November 25th. On December 7th I asked them where my check was. They gave me the run around and acted like they already sent it. I told them to have it over night to the leasing office. It's now Dec 31st. That's 60 days after move out. NO RESPONSES. I have called, emailed, and asked them to get it to me before I moved back to CO. NOTHING. I went in to talk to a new manager now. Who seemed clueless. I WAS WORKING WITH NEHDINE. Who is a complete joke to their corporate office. She lacks in any type of professionalism. I am still waiting on to check that they owe me!!!! This is the a company from hell. I have a lawyer who wrote a demand letter. But NO RESPONSE. My deposit is my right to have back and I will get it back.Review fromChiquita P

1 starI have been in my apartment for a year. The people here are rude and have no regards for their tenants. My lights went out about 7pm 12/15. I submitted a maintenance request with my light company *** and Enclave. The time is currently 10:11 am 12/16 and my power was restored about 15 mins ago. My complaint is the maintenance man told me it wasnt his f****** problem. He also stated that they dont want to pay him to come out to do a job that was ***. Nobody from the office contacted me to even assist with my issue. I told the property manager ******** what the maintenance man ******* said to me and she simply blew off. He cursed at me 2 times. It was very disrespectful and distasteful. These people are charging 1600 in rent and I cant even get someone to come and check my unit without getting cursed at. ******* also stated that *** was all lazy and dont do their job I have videos of him saying this. I honestly feel like no complaints are heard when people are really have complaints. I signed my lease at 1450 the renewal amount is now 1670. There has been no upgrades to anything. They have done nothing but increase the rent amount. This company also is currently listing a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment at a cheaper price than what I currently pay. I feel like they give these prices to get you in then youre stuck paying a way higher amount. Something needs to be done about this.Review fromMelissa J

1 starI dont recommend anyone try to live at the ******** at **********. Its very obviously mismanaged, understaffed, and not a place you want to deal with. Despite the warnings from a couple friends my fianc and I decided to get an apartment here. We applied, got approved, we toured a couple different show units. Everything looked good so we paid a deposit for one of the two bedroom units that was coming available. From then on it all went down hill. Communication is very poor. The likelihood of you getting someone on the phone is low. It appears they only have a couple office staff members who are often doing tours and leaving nobody in the office. Thus its also difficult to even talk to someone in person. It took us three days of harassment to get the welcome letter emailed to us so we could get electric and internet set up and to know exactly how much money we owed them at move in. We didnt get this until the afternoon of the day before move in when my fianc went to the office and had them send it while he was there. We also had to tell them multiple times what pets we had as they kept asking despite the information being in the application. We then got the lease, the monthly rend was $200 higher on the lease than the welcome letter. My fiancee got the keys and did the initial walk through as I was at work because they last minute told us that we were not allowed to move in until after 4pm on Friday and I work the late evening shift. He found multiple issues, including the front door being loose even when locked. We did a second walk through the next morning before we started moving things and its a good thing we did. Not only was the door loose, it was very obviously damaged from a forced entry. There were also many issues with damage and poor craftsmanship throughout the unit. When we brought these issues up, they made no attempt to actually fix them and just offered a refund. I dont have enough space to fully explain everything but stay far away.Review fromMary B

1 starI submitted $250 toward a security deposit and was given a contract for $125 more for rent. I explained that being on disability, I cannot afford to pay this new rate. I didn't sign any approved contract.I called Tre who was the lady I was dealing with. Having left her an email message and a voice mail message which neither were returned. I called the next morning and was told that they approved my application and wouldn't refund the money. She transferred me to a woman who was quite rude and overtalked me. I asked for her manager and was given to ******** or ******** who yelled, stating I wasn't getting anything back. When I asked for his manager, he said that the call ended with him and he hung up on me. I am livid and will try to escalate with their corporate office. DO NOT DO BUSY WITH CLOVER CREEK; THEY ARE RUDE AND UNETHICAL.Review fromMartina F

1 starRun!!! They will take your money and not move you in. This company is very unprofessional. My Leasing agent found me a unit And I put my deposit down on the unit after being approved weeks later I get a call from my agent stating that unit was switched. Without even seeing how the new unit would look. Before signing a lease I let my agent know at independence green that I wouldnt be signing a lease or agreeing to this until until I seen it. I was told the week of move in she no longer works there and no one else could assist me either you want what we offered or you dont . After waiting 2 months to move in, I didnt get to see the new unit until 2 days before move in. I didnt like the unit lay out and when I went into office to see if I can get additional help with something I was more interested in. I was told someone would get back to me I havent got any updates about the move in. I keep getting the run around and was being dismissed out of office and if I called in I keep being hung up on and whenever I send emails I would get no response. I was told Monday morning that the manager *** would follow up with me about two additional units I. Was interested in and it is now Thursday I havent got a call back. Ive asked numerous of times to get my deposit back and I would just do business elsewhere. The manager has refused to refund my security deposit for a unit I have not signed a lease too and she also refuses to give me her name or corporate number so I can report this to a higher up.Review fromGregory P

1 starI am writing to warn others about my experience with Heritage at ***************** in ******* **. My experience has been plagued by unprofessional and deceptive practices, including an unauthorized debt collection action and an unresolved security deposit issue.Upon moving out, I fulfilled all lease obligations, returned the apartment in good condition, and expected a timely return of my security deposit. Despite this, I later received an unexpected notice from a debt collection agency claiming I owed money for a month I had already vacated. This debt is entirely erroneous, as I am not responsible for any charges beyond my move-out ******* make matters worse, my attempts to communicate with the property management to clarify and resolve this issue have been ignored. Management has shown a complete lack of transparency and accountability, choosing to respond to public reviews rather than directly to my inquiries. This selective communication is unacceptable, especially for an issue of this magnitude. The refusal to address this matter professionally has left me no choice but to pursue formal complaints and consider further escalation. I caution anyone considering leasing with this company to proceed with extreme caution. Their dishonest handling of security deposits and their use of unauthorized debt collection practices reflect a disregard for tenant rights and basic professionalism.Review fromChelsey M
