On March 30th I was made aware of some incorrect tax filings made on behalf of me by intuit. The original cause was my fault but in them helping me get this resolved I got a serious run around for the last 2 months. I was told that forms 941x would be corrected by them, called in (April 22 2025 and May 13 2025) to follow up multiple times only to be reassured that the were in the process of being corrected. Called today to see what was up and was told they will not be correcting the forms and that I must do so myself, which in general is fine but would have been nice to know 2 months ago when I first opened the case. They will not allow you to speak to a supervisor or manager. So frustrating and stressful when it has to do with taxes owed.Business Response

Intuit/Quickbooks advertises a free ($0/month) product called "Quickbooks Money". Via this product, it is advertised that you can send invoices and receive payments. In the "Quickbooks Money" iOS app, when attempting to invoice a customer, a dialog box pops up, stating: "That didn't work. Your trial or subscription may have ended, or there may be a billing problem. To check the status of your subscription, go to your iOS device and tap: Settings > iTunes & App Store. Tap your Apple ID > View Apple ID >Subscriptions Manage > QuickBooks."This contradicts the advertisement stating $0/month to use this app and invoice customers - i.e. false advertising. So, I have had to subscribe to Quickbooks Simple Start product for $30/month to just use the invoicing feature. Please see attached screenshots.Additionally, the Quickbooks Checking feature states "Free Instant Deposit" - and in receiving payments from another QuickBooks user, rarely have these funds been deposited within 1-2 days.Business Response

To whom it may concern,
We received the complaint forwarded to us on behalf of ****** ********. We appreciate the opportunity to respond.
We reviewed ******** issue regarding his experience with QuickBooks Money and QuickBooks Online (QBO). ****** was concerned about needing to reactivate his QBO subscription to use the invoicing feature, which he believed contradicted the advertisement of QB Money being a free service for invoicing. Upon investigation, it was clarified that QB Money and QBO are separate entities with different company ID numbers, and the confusion arose because the same email was used for both accounts. This led to the system prompting him to reactivate his QBO account when attempting to send invoices from his mobile device. We advised ****** to access his QB Money account via a computer to avoid this issue, as the system functions as designed and there is no false advertisement involved. Additionally, ******** billing was handled through *****, and he was guided to contact ***** for any refund concerns. He successfully processed one refund and is in the process of obtaining the remaining refunds.
We thank ****** for bringing this matter to our attention and the opportunity to assist.

I opened a Quickbooks Online subscription including ******** services and a linked checking account in 2023. In 2025, my business model changed and I began receiving more customer payments by check. With no advance warning a limit of 20 checks per month was placed on my account for mobile deposit. This limit is not mentioned in the account documents anywhere, where dollar limits are specified but no limit on number of checks deposited. No one I talked to at the banking department or customer service departments for ********************** could explain it. On my fifth call an agent told me they had seen this before it was never resolved so I should just give up additionally I had been issued a debit card with an ATM network to use, but found out only after I visited two deposit-featured ATMs that one cant make ATM deposits to this account. I see this as dishonest business practice, to outline some limits on transactions but not mention others, luring me into an investment of time and money into a system that doesnt work for businesses like mine that receive payments by check on a routine basis.Business Response

We use QuickBooks for book keeping and invoicing customers through our business. Issues began with fraudulent charges, noticed on 5/21/25, on our quickbooks associated debit card, which occurred in several different states. Fraudulent charges were made on several different days in April and May 2025. Called Quickbooks, reported the charges, ordered a new card. A week later on 5/29/25, got a call from intuit claiming they saw more fraud. Turned out to be a scam and they were deep into our quickbooks account and managed to get into our personal banking also, through the Quickbooks account. Contacted ******************** on 5/30/25 to report the issues and make sure our account was secure, but could not talk to a person I could hear or understand, asked several times to talk to a different representative, ended up being hung up on several times by employees. Issues were not resolved and we still feel unsafe about our account after it was extensively hacked into by these scammers, since our Quickbooks account contains a lot of personal info. Would like better communication and clarification from this company, as well as some remorse shown. I feel this issue was not resolved and I am paying monthly for this platform, just to be scammed through it and money stolen from us several times. I asked to discuss with someone how to make sure my account is secure and was never advised and was then hung up on.Business Response

I am writing to formally express my frustration and concern regarding TurboTax's handling of my *************************************************************************************************************************************** and my family.Timeline of Events:1. My refund was originally expected around April 18, 2025, but due to an error in the last four digits of my bank account number, the deposit failed.2. A paper check was issued on April 21, 2025, but sent to an outdated address, despite my efforts to update it.3. The check was returned and voided. I was told on May 8, 2025, that a new check would be requested the following day.4. On May 14, 2025, a TurboTax supervisor informed me that the new check was sent out on May 12 and should arrive between May 22 and May 29.5. As of May 30, 2025, the check has not arrived, and customer service is unable to confirm its status or provide any resolution.I have recorded calls, emails, and other documentation proving I was given false or contradictory information. Despite repeated follow-ups, I remain without my refund and without accountability from TurboTax.Impact:This delay has had a serious financial impact on my family. As a single mother of three, I rely on my tax refund to meet basic needs and support my household. The lack of resolution and communication has only added stress.Requested Resolution:- Immediate investigation and reissuance or tracking of my refund check.- Written confirmation of the resolution and estimated timeline.- A formal apology and assurance that similar issues will be prevented in the future. Please let me know if any documentation is needed. I am prepared to submit call logs, emails, and other relevant evidence.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: Follow-Up Intuit Broke Resolution Promised to Me and BBB; Mishandled Filing Fee Refund, Delayed Deposit Causing Personal Loss
To Whom It May Concern,
This is a formal update to my complaint regarding Intuit/TurboTaxs repeated mishandling of my 2024 federal tax refund.
After I filed my initial complaint, I was contacted by the Office of the President at Intuit, who assured both myself and the Better Business Bureau that the matter would be resolved. Specifically, I was told:
My tax refund would be directly deposited into my Credit Karma account to prevent any further mailing errors.
For the inconvenience and delay I already experienced, they would issue a separate check to refund my filing fees, which would be mailed to my address.
However, despite this resolution being confirmed with BBB, I was notified today that the check for the filing fee refund was mailed to the wrong addressagain.
To make matters worse, Intuit is now telling me that my tax refund wont be deposited until June 18th, even though my car is scheduled to be sold on June 13th due to nonpayment. I lost my only transportation and the personal items inside the carthrough no fault of my ownbecause of repeated and preventable mistakes by Intuit.
This situation has only gotten more devastating. Because of this ongoing issue:
I lost my car, and everything inside it will be sold off.
I was unable to pay my rent, risking housing instability.
I lost my job, which relied on transportation.
I am a full-time student and single mother of three children, and I was depending on this refund to provide basic needs.
I suffer from documented anxiety, and this situation has caused serious emotional distress, sleeplessness, and panic.
It is completely unacceptable that a company of this size would:
Assure both myself and the Better Business Bureau that they had resolved the matter,
Then fail to honor those promises,
And refuse to expedite the refund despite knowing my car would be sold five days before the deposit date.
Legal and Consumer Rights
Given the breakdown in their own stated resolution, I am urging the Better Business Bureau to reopen and escalate this complaint immediately. I am also considering legal options, including but not limited to:
Negligent infliction of emotional distress (******* v. ****, 21 Wis. 2d 349)
Deceptive business practices under Wisconsin Stat. 100.18
Failure to act in good faith in resolving consumer disputes
Financial harm caused by negligence, resulting in loss of transportation, income, and housing risk
This is no longer a minor delaythis is life-altering harm caused by repeated missteps by Intuit after they claimed the problem was solved. I urge the Better Business Bureau to hold them accountable and demand the following:
An immediate electronic deposit of my refund before June 13th to avoid further irreversible loss
A full explanation and accountability for how they mailed a check to the wrong address again
Documentation of all communication and promised actions from the Office of the President
Sincerely,
******* *****Business Response

Intuit's payment processing has collected funds from my client and failed to remit them to me via my merchant acccount. They are stating it is an engineering issue effecting several customers. ******************** is refusing to release funds to rightful owners for whom they process payments. They are outside the promised timeline to deliver deposits. On May 28th 2025 I opened an account with ******************** Payments and began processing invoices. Shortly after, without any prior notice or request for additional verification, my account was abruptly closed. This action was taken without any attempt by QuickBooks to assist me in verifying the account, despite my willingness to provide any necessary documentation.Upon contacting QuickBooks customer support, I was informed by an agent, "********," that my account had been closed and that my only recourse was to reapply. This instruction is highly problematic, as I had already processed several invoices totaling approximately $1,300.00, and these funds are currently sitting in holding.Even more concerning, Agent ******** suggested that I contact all my customers and instruct them to dispute the charges. This advice appears to be a direct violation of standard merchant processing practices and could severely damage my business relationships and reputation. It is unacceptable for QuickBooks to hold approved transactions and then advise a merchant to initiate a customer dispute process.I have attempted to resolve this directly with QuickBooks support, but the advice provided has been unhelpful and potentially harmful. I am requesting the immediate release of the $1,300.00 in processed funds that are currently being held. Furthermore, I seek a clear explanation for the abrupt account closure without notice and a proper process for account verification. This situation has caused significant financial inconvenience and operational disruption to my business. I expect a prompt and satisfactory resolution to this matter.Desired Resolution:Immediate release of the $1,300.00 in held funds.A clear explanation for the account closure without prior notice or opportunity for verification.Assistance in properly verifying my account, if needed, rather than being forced to reapply.Thank you for your time and assistance in resolving this critical issue.Sincerely,Business Response
