1 starUseless, unfriendly, incompetent, SCAM business. ONE STAR IS TOO HIGH for this business. A "technician" came out to our house (in ******, **) and "diagnosed" a problem with our ******* Over The Range Microwave. He said the blower doesn't work, basically reworded the problem he was called out for. He gave a quote $500+Their receipt just states "Appliance **************** as the business name with license # ****** and their phone number ******** area code (877). [had to state the number that way to post].Calling their office was a run around and eventually a "supervisor" called back with a snarky attitude telling my wife that she "wasn't a technician with over 20 years of experience". That's when I snapped and yelled at her.Review fromMal G

1 starTOTAL SCAM! Our microwave fan stopped working so we reached out to this company. They sent a very unqualified service tech who literally pushed the button on the microwave to tell us what we already knew. The fan isn't working. He did not troubleshoot or even remove any part of the microwave to look inside. Price to repair was $500+. We paid the $85 for nothing. DO NOT USE Company Name Listed on Receipt: Appliances *************** License #******Review fromSharon R

Stay away from Appliance *************** it's a scam business! Our water/ice stopped working on our GE fridge, however there were still green lights on panel. A very unfriendly service tech showed up, took one look and told me I needed a new dispenser switch. Price to install - $545. I declined and paid the $85. After easy research (thanks ********* found the real problem was a corroded wire underneath fridge, easy fix and I'm sure he knew it. And by the way, I researched dispenser switches and they are a FRACTION of what he told me the switch would cost. SO, net net, he was either going to collect $85 for doing nothing, or $545 for doing a modest job. Go with a well known local service company!!!!Smith Brothers Appliance Repair

Unfortunately. ******************* did not reach out to the company directly to inform us about the experience she had. We have a company policy that if our tech misdiagnosed the problem, we help customer to get a refund on the service fee. It is a simple procedure: customer needs to inform the office and provide a copy of the invoice from a licensed company/tech stating the problem with the appliance, parts replaced and that the appliance is in a good working order. We help customer to initiate a misdiagnose claim and get the refund. **** ******* can reach out to us and provide evidence (not a ******* video), proof of repair by another vendor, and we will issue a refund for ***** fee.Review fromLeendert N

I have a 5 year old ** profile oven that had a lower oven cooling fan error message. This happened the day before thanksgiving. Went to the ** care website and logged a ticket. Response was that they could have someone out on the 27th of November at a particular time. I agreed and a technician came out, did his diagnosis and confirmed the fan was toast. He said hed order a replacement and get back to me. Estimate was around $470, of which I paid 200 by cheque. Was notified on dec 5 that hed be back at a particular time to finish the repair on the 6 th of December. He showed up at the promised time and did the repair. Wrote a cheque for the remaining amount after confirming with him the oven was no longer generating an error. I have read some of the reviews on this company and I must say I have NO complaints about the way my issue was addressed. Have used the oven and can confirm it works as it should.Smith Brothers Appliance Repair

Do your research with this company. No website, no local address, no local phone number. ******* Cares gave me a few options in my area to call for a washer repair. When I called this company to schedule a repair they didn't even bother to show up to diagnose the issue, just over the phone. With that, shame on me but boy was I desperate to believe what they were selling. I gave the technician a deposit via credit card and was told that it would be two weeks (the magic phrase) to get the part in. Two weeks come and go and then another and then another and then another. The company WILL NOT give you any updates, you have to literally pull teeth to get ANY information. Do yourself a favor and pay via Credit Card. They may charge a service fee but when they don't deliver you have recourse and can file a "Fraud Claim" with your credit card company. Let them have to deal with this scam when they do not provide the service you have paid for. If I could assign a negative star rating I would.Smith Brothers Appliance Repair

***************** failed to mention in her review that her stove was fixed by our tech and it is in a good working order. She also failed to mention that the part for the washer that we have not received as of right now is still on a national back order with ******** ***************** was updated several times about the part still being back ordered. Unfortunately manufacturer/distribitors do not update info very often and back order dates are subject to change by the manufacturer without notification. If we were given initial eta for delivery 2 weeks and the dates were pushed back, this is not a fault of the repair company and the tech. The last update that we recived form the distributor was on 10/17 and the needed part is still on the back order, with possible eta of 2 weeks. Not sure where ***************** was scammed by our company, but she cancelled repairs and stopped the payment on the credit card.Smith Brothers Appliance Repair

1 starTHIS BUSINESS IS A COMPLETE SCAM FOLKS! I know by now you have probably read allllllllllllll of the customer complaints about this "company". They are truly crooks and I hope they are formally investigated soon! They will schedule an appointment with you, collect the consultation fee (in our family's case $200 for a non-working oven), give you some reason why the work cannot be completed that day, and then never ever ever return calls or actually show up to complete the work you needed done. And what they do is collect the initial service / inspection fee using apps like Venmo or Cashapp which makes it impossible to file a fraud claim with your bank. And apps like ***** will tell you that they cannot reconcile or reverse the transaction because their apps are intended to be used between TRUSTED friends and businesses that you know. This was a huge ****** for us. By the way, Smith Brothers Appliance Repair is also known as APPLIANCE SERVICERS UNION. Their so-called customer service number starts with ****** (can't list the entire number here) but they will only give you the run around - promising a call back or scheduling a "technician" to come back out and finish the work. It never happens. The technician never shows up and a supervisor never calls. They did this to us for weeks. Initial service call was for 11/22/22. It is now 1/24/23. I finally realized they were scammers after coming across this page and all their customer scam stories found at this address: ************************************************************************************************************************************************************************.Review fromMike F

URGENT! DO NOT USE THESE CROOKS! These thieves are operating in **************** too. Under the same BS name: APPLIANCE SERVICERS UNION, License #******. I made an online order to have my washing machine looked at. A tech, *****, showed at the correct time window, spent 5 minutes looking at the washer and told me a new lid lock mechanism was needed. $341 + tax to install (I have since ordered the part myself from Amazon for $35). He took a deposit of $150 by check, and told me 5-7 business days. I called their number, ************, three different times to get an update on the part. Called on business days 5, 6 and then again on day 9. All three times , they would "call the tech and get back to me". No replies and no records of my previous phone calls...go figure. On business day 10 (two weeks, mind you) I received a phone call saying they could come out and install. I refused, told them do not call here and put a stop payment on the check. Not sure if it will work as the check was cashed the same day. I feel fortunate I only got scammed for $150. These people are garbage, stay as far away as possible and keep reporting them.Smith Brothers Appliance Repair

Our company works ONLY with authorized factory distrubutors to order parts. We do not buy anything from Amazon and can not be responsible for the qulity of the parts and give warranty. The customer was initially advised it will take 5-7 days minimum to get the parts and the office will call to schedule installation appointment. ********** the office with the phone calls about the parts, DOES NOT expedite the delivery unfortunately. Once the parts were ready, the office contacted the customer to schedule. The customer is accusing the company of theft. The ****** deposit that customer paid covered the ****** diagnostics fee for the tech's time and barely the shiping cost. The part was ordered by the tech paid in full and we had to pay the shipping cost twice, since customer refused to proceed with the ***********************. Accusing the business of stealing from the customer and calling the company crooks is unfair to say the least.
