I was one of many that were tricked by Applebee's ********* marketing scam. Advertising has always been a dishonest and sneaky field by nature. Applebees has no shame. Now anytime I think of their companies name, I immediately just think of their unethical ploy. Before I was indifferent, now I know I would never go into one to eat.For others wondering, I read they only sold 250 passes, and some of those passes were given out early to influencers.

I attempted to get date night pass. I logged on website on time, it wasn't locked or shut down, immediately it asked me for my email when I clicked to purchase pass, it said I had a 6 minute wait to checkout and pay, then it said 5 minutes...then it said all sold out...(and since I got into website with no problems, entered email and was in a waiting room of sorts...waiting in line to pay...n had entered email..I knew I had won date night pass to purchase and them..after waiting time it said...it didn't take me to checkout. I'm very disappointed and asking you honor the Date night pass to me still. When I entered the website I put in my email right away which then put me in line to pay.Thank-you

Dear Applebee's Customer Service,I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the recent Date Night promotion offered by Applebee's. As a loyal customer, I was eagerly looking forward to participating in this event, only to be left utterly disappointed by the way it was handled. The promotion, which was advertised to offer a special Date Night experience, sold out in less than two minutes, leaving many genuine customers, myself included, unable to secure a reservation. What was particularly frustrating was the apparent lack of safeguards against bots and unfair practices that *** have contributed to this **********-out.It is unacceptable that Applebee's did not implement any measures to ensure that genuine customers had a fair chance of participating in the promotion. The lack of safeguards against bots and automated purchasing systems seems to have allowed unfair advantages to certain individuals or entities, resulting in genuine customers being left out.As a long-standing patron of Applebee's, I expected better from a company that prides itself on providing a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience for its customers. The swift sell-out of the Date Night promotion, coupled with the absence of protective measures, has left me deeply disappointed and frustrated.I urge Applebee's to review its promotional strategies and implement stronger safeguards to prevent such situations from recurring in the future. Genuine customers should have an equal opportunity to benefit from these promotions without the fear of being edged out by unfair means.I trust that Applebee's will take this matter seriously and take appropriate steps to address the concerns raised. As a loyal customer, I sincerely hope that the company will use this feedback to improve its approach to promotions and ensure a fair and enjoyable experience for all customers.I appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to a prompt and satisfactory resolution.

Applebees Date Night Passes Promotion (11/22/23): I was online at the exact time this promotion started and immediately, Applebees had server overload issues. After several minutes of refreshing my computer screen (<10 min), they were sold out. I am very disappointed with this type of advertising (aka scam) promotion! It really has me thinking about whether or not to visit Applebees after this horrible experience!*************************** *********, **

1-star for misleading advertising regarding Applebee's annual Date Night Pass. The promotion, which began on 1/22, sold out within 2 minutes. The advertising did not mention the limited number of passes available, nor did it indicate that this was a limited offer (even in the fine print). This lack of transparency is frustrating, especially for those of us who attempted to purchase the pass right at 9 am PST when the sale was scheduled to start.

Scam sale with recent Date Night Pass. No one was able to buy them as the website was down immediately during time period to access sale. After website eventually worked, the buy button redirects to another site saying sold out and wants visitor to sign up for their club. Cannot even get into contact with anyone via their listed contact methods about it either. Never even mentioned how many actual passes were available or sold.

APPLEBEES SCAM ALERT! They publicized this date night pass and it was all over radio, websites etc getting tons of free advertising and publicity, then when it goes on sale, the are already "sold out" instantly. I think this was all planned from the beginning as a publicity stunt figuring that it would get their name out there, get people thinking about how they would use the pass and what they would order, then pull the rug out from under people, hoping people might be mad for a couple days, and then actually go to applebees anyway because they got their appetite worked up. That's what I think. I hope people boycott applebees, make them feel the repercussions of attempting this scam on Americans who are struggling and have a hard time affording food.

IHOP - Pasco ***** I am told this is a new trend however I have only experienced it at the ***** IHOP. The first incident was about a month ago. We had 4 checks between our group, 2 of which paid in cash. When they received their change there was no coins included. For example the bill was $6.47 & we paid $10. The "change" was just $3 & did not include the $0.53 in coins. When asked about it the waitress rolled her eyes & seemed annoyed that we would ask for our proper change. I informed her that it was actually theft. She simply laughed & walked away. I called the following day & talked to a manager. He assured me this was not acceptable to the ************ would address it. Fast forward to a last Friday night. Guess what, it happened again!.The argument that some will make is that "most people simply leave the coins as part of the tip". While that is true it is 100% up the customer if they want to do that or not, not the server believing they are entitled to. Until it is given to the server that money belongs to the customer to decide what, if anything, they will leave for the server. Not providing the correct change is not only unethical but is, in fact, illegal. It is theft & this is a scam that is apparently becoming common. Tips are not mandatory & should be earned. The service at most places now is sub par due to the fact that they believe they are entitled & will get a tip no matter how bad they are. Not true, at least for me, and I hope that others follow suit to put the "service" back into the industry. This complaint will also be shared with our local law enforcement. While each incident may seem insignificant the sum could quite possibly be a large amount. I will personally not be coming back to your restaurant and I will make sure as many people as I can know what is going on, and more importantly, that your management seems to condone it as they were notified previously and obviously took no action to correct the problem.
